Lemons and Crickets

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I must have purchased the lemon. Bought this 6000 BTU in May 2016 with high hopes considering Frigidaire name. Powered up to the sound of crickets, seems like some embedded noise somewhere in the blower assembly. I am sure I will be told it is my installation, but pretty much ruled that out already. Since purchased, unit also has strange odor on occasion, particularly when only being used as fan. Noticed other issues as well, such as drainage and also the energy saver issue mentioned by another reviewer. Regardless of that reviewer's response from Frigidaire, appears to me that Frigidaire's idea to energy saving is to turn unit off after 5 seconds and never let it turn on again. Sorry, there is something out of calibration in my opinion. Okay, one positive, does cool pretty well when set to cool. Likely will ignore this brand on the next AC purchase.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi Bob! I hate that you are not fully satisified with your air conditioner. Your air conditioner may make many sounds, such as high pitched chatter, vibration, ping, swishing, sound of rushing air, gurgle or hissing; which is a part of the normal operations.
The way the air conditioner works, is it pulls air from inside the room and removes the heat from the air. Then it blows out the colder air to cool off the room. Making sure the air filter is cleaned regularly and that it is installed properly can possibly resolve the matter you are experiencing.

Great Air Conditioning All Summer!

Both kept me cool and comfortable all summer long. The remote control works great, and the unit has lots of great functions. Price was very reasonable!

Truth or Frigi - dare

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I choose Frigi - dare! Frigidaire Window Mounted Room Air Conditioner was an absolute blessing this summer! It's easy to install and extremely user friendly. This summer I spent many nights awake, sweaty and uncomfortable. I was so happy the night that I installed this air conditioner; I finally slept soundly through the night wrapped in my favorite blanket.

disappointing

Bought this in August because 13 yr old unit finally quit. This model cools very well but the fan is extremely noisy, a constant rattle. Next year I'll dump this and get a different ac.

Gosh! Gerry17, it is normal to hear ‘high pitch chatter’ a sound of rushing air, gurgle/hiss, pinging or swishing and vibration. These are all normal. For more information of normal sounds during operation, please refer to page 4 in your Owner’s Manual. Verify that the original installation procedures have been followed properly. Pay special attention to any gaskets. If improperly installed, even a high quality, low-noise unit can rattle mercilessly. If you have any questions, please reconnect with us directly for assistance.
