[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We got this two months ago and are already needing to change the air filter. Our bedroom cools down quickly with the cool setting, but doesn't stay as cool as I set it when it's on the economy setting. It is a bit loud, but allows me to sleep and not get woken up by my husband's snoring...lol. Overall, decent for the price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a good air conditioner, just a little noisy. It cools the living room in my apartment. I was debating between this and the 8000 BTU. I may eventually get the 8000 and move this to my bedroom but for now it keeps my living room comfortably cool. I like that it has a remote as well as timer settings so I can set it to turn on/off at a specific time rather than running it all day when I'm not home. Overall I'd recommend this unit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The unit works really well, if not for some sort of click noise coming from the unit I would have rated it a 5 stars. I'm guessing the clicking is coming from the compressor when it cycles, but it's loud enough to get my attention. Don't get me wrong the clicking is not a deal ender and the unit does it's job really well.

Good price, basic unit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have had this for a few weeks, and still can't get used to the noise. During energy saver mode, it would switch on with such a loud noise, it would wake me up. Also, gurgles a lot when there's rain in the unit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for sharing your A/C concerns, Catwoman2. It sounds like your high-efficiency A/C is operating as designed. When the unit turns on, you may hear a "high pitched" chatter during the cooling cycle. Also, the "gurgling" sounds that you're hearing may also be heard due to the refrigerant passing through the evaporator. You can also view other normal sounds from your A/C on page 4 of your Owner's Manual (ftp://ftp.electrolux-na.com/ProdInfo_PDF/Edison/16120300A00413en.pdf) I hope this helps! Kindly, Courtney
