[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like to have when galaxy introduced about galaxy watch 8 and it's sport type band with my favorite color mint.So I decided to prouder at once. My expectations and reality are same it's so comfy, modernized and helpful for my daily routine.Now I work as chef at my summer holiday so I can't use my phone too long that's make me miss my important information like mail or phone call. Now galaxy watch help me to solve this problem. And it's really take care of my health like how stressful I am. How long did I take rest , did I sleep well , how long did i walk like that . That's feature really take me to healthy life. Every time when I walk i did need to worry about the lost the way galaxy can show me clear map on watch that awesome. The AI connect with watch is one of the best part whatever I want to know it's stay as bff and help me easily the so satisfying for me .

I've been happy with the Galaxy Watch 5, and was excited to find the new and improved features of the Galaxy Watch 8.
There are 2 features on a smart watch that are the primary benefits I take advantage of: tracking walks, and sleep tracking.
Tracking walks on the 5 was good, but on an update there was a change that brought an inconvenience... during the walk it would clear the tracking and to look at status I would have to find the app and relaunch. The good news was it was still tracking.
Thate clear does not happen on the Watch 8.
The more important thing is the sleep tracking. On the 8 I am finding that on nights I sleep well it is not tracking, or not tracking indepth.
Maybe the sleep tracking problem is due to either turning on sleep mode or battery saver. If the watch is a bit low on battery I turn them on. I do know that battery saver limits the sleep tracking, as if won't track phases. So I stopped battery saver and just make sure I have a good enough charge.
One good thing, it charges quicker.
On the 5 I could turn both on and sleep tracking and sleep mode, and it would track sleeping fine so I was surprised about setting battery saver or sleep mode would affect sleep tracking (if that is causing the tracking problem... Last night there was 0 sleep tracking). It seems counter intuitive that sleep mode would not track sleeping.
All of that aside, I'm not seeing anything that warrants an upgrade from the 5.
I suspect that future upgrades are of the table for me. An expected more from a year upgrade.
8/8/25 Update
I thought it only fair to provide an update to the review.
I am succeeding with getting the sleep tracking to work. As implied earlier, to get the full sleep tracking, including phases, I needed to not turn on sleep mode or battery saving mode. So that works well.
The battery does seem to last longer than on the Watch 5. And the case has an updated look.
It's nice, and it deserves 4 stars.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Keep track of your health at anytime.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my new galaxy watch 8. It came with easy to setup instrustions along with a beautiful clear screen. If you don't own a machine to help keep track of you health then this is it. I love that I can keep track of my health right from my arm. I don't have to go to a store any more and wait in line to check my blood pressure, all done, all right here in my own comfort zone.

My biggest complaint is that this watch is not consistent at all, sleep scores are few and far between, energy scores are even worse. Battery is good, but after I charge and put it on it takes forever to get a heart beat reading.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Definitely better than my watch 6 LTE. My only issue is the battery life still just lasts 1whole day, it would be nice to have longer battery life. The sports strap suits me better than the athleisure strap.

I do enjoy this Samsung Watch 8. It is very easy to use , lightweight, and pretty . The battery only last a day but that's ok. While I am relaxing before I sleep I charge it. It charges super fast, so it doesn't bother me that it needs to be charged daily.
