[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 for a little while now, and overall, it's a solid smartwatch. The design is a big plus—it's incredibly lightweight and sits flush on my wrist, so it's comfortable to wear all day without feeling bulky. I also really like the new watch band system; it's a huge improvement and makes swapping bands a breeze. The watch is very responsive, and I've experienced no lag or delays when navigating through apps or notifications. The battery life is decent, getting me through about 24 hours on a full charge, which is pretty standard for a smartwatch. However, I do wish it charged a bit faster. One of the biggest downsides for me has been using Google Gemini. It's often not very responsive, and my phone usually activates first when I try to wake it on the watch. It’s a minor frustration, but one I hope can be improved in future updates. Despite a couple of small issues, the Galaxy Watch 8 is a great device and a definite upgrade.

I have had galaxy watch 8 for a week now, an up grade from galaxy watch 5, I love it. Very happy to report i like the functionality. The watch sits on my wrist better with the new strap design. Thank you
Switched from Watch 7 that was giving me 2 days max battery life to Watch 8 getting 1 1/2. A big turn off
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Samsung's trade in program for their watches is AWESOME! And so very much appreciated!! Ive done it the past three watches now. A month or two ago I traded my Samsung Watch 7 for the new Samsung Watch 8. Hoping and praying it would be able to record my sleep and sleep stages a bit better. Or just at all, lol. Because the Watch 7 definitely struggled. Its the number one feature I wanted when choosing a smart watch and there are SO MANY other features you just can not use unless your Samsung Watch can record a proper sleep reading. At least 3 nights in a row. So I definitely sleep, lol. And I definitely sleep at night. I make sure the watch is clean, charged, 2 inches above my wrist, not too loose. I made sure my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra was plugged into the charger, connected to the watch, that neither my phone, the watch, the Samsung Health app or the Wear app needed to be updated. I literally tried EVERYTHING to try and get it to read and record my sleep. Let's just say the over a year I had the Samsung Watch7 I was never told my sleep animal 😕. It did however keep track somewhat of how many hours I slept and sometimes would do everything else it does pertaining to the sleep feature.... the Samsung Watch 8 I have had now for about a month has not read my sleep ONCE. I am now using it with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and am doing all of the suggested things to do to get it to work better in that aspect. Everything 😢 I dont even go on the Samsung Health app anymore. I haven't set up tiles or a new face. To me its just a way over priced wrist watch that tells me the time. Because I feel so defeated by the whole thing 😔

In the short time i have had it...it is a well put together and light weight watch. It integrated with my phone and apps very well. Connection to my phone and to my cell provider was seamless. I still have alot to learn about it...just taking it one day at a time.
I am satisfied with my purchase. It has more features than my Galaxy Watch4. The option of a blue strap over the black is a nice option. It seems to have more stability for some watch functions than my Watch4. The battery lasts barely more than a day, which seems like a very slight improvement over the Watch4. One thing I do not like, which my Watch4 had was that when I count steps, the steps defaults to the normal watch face after only 2 minutes. On my watch4, the steps stayed visible for as long as I walked. The Watch8 defaulting at 2 minutes is very annoying and useles.
