I want to start by saying that this is a fantastic watch. Looks are awesome, feels good when wearing it, bright display and very responsive. Everything that I have come to expect from a Galaxy watch. I've owned them since the first one was released and they just deliver every time.
I do like the new connection for the bands. So much easier to to change them. Simple push button release (although for bigger fingers it can be hard to press) and quick snap in place. I change my band every week or so and this is really so much better than the spring pins.
There is one flaw and it is a pretty big oversight in my opinion. The way the band connection is designed there is a downward curve at the connector. So when you try to put in on a flat charger, it won't make contact. So if you have a duo charger you will find it challenging to get it to charge. Some suggestions have been take the band off to charge. I've found that it works if you loop the band over the face of the watch and buckle it that way. That is a pretty big miss for something that needs to be done every day or two. If you just use the button charger that comes in the box it is not a problem. Not sure if there is a 'fix' for this so probably have to be done on the next generation.
But this is a really great, probably the best, smart watch I've used. Do I recommend it? Absolutely. Well worth your investment. You will not be disappointed.
I am pleased with this smart watch. I love the sleep item. I did get a fabric band because it is more comfortable to sleep with. Bands are easily changed. I do wish there was one smaller option because I have a small wrist but, I guess it would be harder to read messages. Regardless, the watch has a very elegant appearance.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Beautiful watch, abundant features, crevice issue

I upgraded from the Galaxy Watch 7 because I really wanted access to the antioxidants and vascular load measurements. Upon initial testing, it actually works really nicely and coincides with the results I've received during my doctor's visits. I love it and have been trying to monitor my health more with the wishes of my mother. The watch screen overall is beautiful, and I love the many features it provides. Very easy to set up and love the ability to ensure I only receive the notifications I want. The bluetooth actually reaches a really nice distance so even if I leave my phone in my living room while I'm in the kitchen, I can still answer calls or texts.
I only have small issues against the watch that keep me from rating it 5 stars. I still don't like the bands that samsung provides and have to order my own as they seem to make the area I wear it on really sweaty causing it to rash up. After I ordered my own bands, I don't have this issue. Another issue is there's like a small crevice around the watch that allows dirt in, which can be a little annoying to keep clean. I also worry about dirt getting inside the watch that could cause damage. I don't recall having this issue when I had the 7. In my photo you can see a little bit of the dirt/dust that snuck into the crevice.
At the end of the day, I love my watch and am happy with my purchase.

3rd Galaxy Watch-- best so far!
on August 4, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had 3 Galaxy watches over the years. The Galaxy Watch 8 moves the needle. Battery life is good and recharge time is quick, so I can charge while sitting at my desk and wear it night/day.
I appreciate the new sensors. Health app matched the BMI my doctor gave me. I feel good about the health data being accurate.
Galaxy AI integration is smooth and easy to use.
I picked the white watch with white band. I have received a few compliments about its look. Pleased with the upgrade from a Galaxy 6 after a few weeks.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like to use battery saver but to use the new features you can't use that so that is tough. Wish the battery was better.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The watch has great features but lacks in battery. The Samsung health features are what I use to kinda stay in shape. This watch connects well with my S25 ultra.

Familiar Feel with Minor Upgrades
on August 8, 2025
Posted by: DocSunshine
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Galaxy Watch 8 delivers solid performance with much-improved battery life, lasting a full two days compared to older models that barely made it through one. It integrates well with Samsung Health, tracking fitness and wellness reliably, and some AI health aids are promising, though not all work consistently.
Despite Samsung promoting AI integration, the Watch 8 feels largely like past Galaxy Watches with only minor changes. Some menu mapping has been altered, making it harder to locate essential apps and customize quick access. Instead of easily setting up your preferred apps for quick scrolling, it’s more of a “find it where it is” experience.
The addition of Gemini is nice in theory, but in practice, it can be frustrating — the watch often takes over instead of letting Gemini answer on your phone, even when your phone is nearby. Samsung also preloaded Google Messages despite switching to Samsung Messages, resulting in rogue texts that appear only on the watch. This is likely tied to the dummy LTE phone number, which has been inconvenient to manage.
While the Watch 8’s improvements in battery life are a welcome change, it lacks meaningful new features or AI integrations that set it apart. It’s essentially the same Galaxy Watch you’ve seen before, with small tweaks that may or may not improve your daily use.
