I've owned 2 Bissell carpet cleaners, going on 13 years & just now replacing my small one for upstairs as it light weight & finally quit. I have the big pro heat down stairs, I had to replace the bladder & it still works great . I have tried other cleaners & I love the Bissell best . When u need something replaced , u can go to their website & order.

Small tanks and major problems with the belt

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This carpet cleaner is ok for the price if you are in desperate need of a cheap cleaner. We have had ours for maybe a year and have used it a total of 10 times. We replaced the belt because it broke and noticed that the housing for the belt assembly was grooved by the belt. After replacing the belt, I used it 1 more time and the belt broke again. The pros of this are the price and ease of use. The cons are the size of the tanks (very small if you have any area to cover that is not a hallway) and the belt housing which is plastic. I would not recommend this cleaner to anyone. Save your money or buy a larger commercial cleaner. It may cost more at the beginning but will save you money in the long run.

Design sucks. You can't take the brush roll out without unscrewing multiple pieces. I used it on only TWO area rugs and it leaked out disgusting water after each swipe! Dog hair does not get sucked into the machine but rather sits on the bottom and clumps until it's too big and releases into your clean carpet. Very lightweight. That's the only pro.

Savior for the playroom rug

We inherited wall to wall carpeting in our kids playroom. I hate it, but admit it's cozy and forgiving for that space that gets lots of use with three under 7 and two cats! Other than vacuuming, I admittedly have not cleaned the rug in years because we planned to remove it. However, it's still there- so I was thrilled to try the Bissell TurboClean Duo Pet Pro, thanks to Stellar Product Testing Panel. I unpacked the box and put the cleaner together within seconds. I skimmed the Quick Start guide that was attached to the handle and was cleaning in another minute. Big, big stars for the simple ease of use! I chose to clean the playroom carpet the day after my cleaners came, mostly because the toys were off the floor. It looked clean, other than some crusted slime that had been on the rug for about a year. (Slime has been banned since!) I chose the deep clean option over express clean, just to see what would happen. It works like a vacuum- go back and forth, a light mist of cleaner comes out and the machine sucks it back. The dirty water going into the water tank was disgusting!!!! Who knew?! Next I used the hose attachment- a quick click in- and scrubbed the slime. With some muscle, I was able to remove most of it! I was shocked! I have tried so many tricks and products on that slime without luck. Huge win! I had some cleaning solution left in the tank, so I moved to our hardwoods downstairs and one additional area rug. The amount of hair, dust, and dirty water sucked up was impressive, when my floors actually looked pretty clean to start. I am in LOVE with this machine, and while it's big and takes up space to keep in a handy spot, I'll make room for it. Like a vacuum or steam mop, the results are so satisfying and the ease of use is along the same lines. The only drawback I have is with the use of chemicals for cleaning. To really get the deep clean, you need them and they work. But for every once in a while, it would be great to try vinegar and essential oils!
