This was my first experience with a carpet cleaner and I was both very satisfied with how effectively it cleaned my carpets, as well as highly grossed out by how much dirt and hair was in my carpet... The process of filling the carpet cleaner with water and the cleaning solution was very easy and intuitive. The instructions were easy to understand and offered helpful information on cleaning the product and how to problem-solve any issues. I also enjoyed the fresh, clean scent it left for hours after. The carpet cleaner was easy to maneuver and a great size - I'm much taller than average and often have to hunch over to use cleaning products, but this cleaner was the perfect height. My one complaint was how frequent clumps of dust / hair / debris were left behind me as I rolled the cleaner back and forth. While my roommate has cats and thus my carpet gets a lot of hair in it, I vacuumed right before using this carpet cleaner. I wish this product had something built in to catch the clumps of hair & dust rather than just leaving a trail of clumps behind. Taking apart the cleaner to empty the reservoirs and clean them was simple, as well as.. unpleasant. This was primarily just due to how dirty my carpets were and not a fault of the device, but cleaning out the dirt, hair, and dust that had accumulated inside the reservoir and around the brush took longer than I expected. Overall, I was pleased with the effectiveness of and the ease of use of this cleaner. I would definitely recommend this product to individuals who don't have pets, or who plan to thoroughly vacuum / remove hair before using this cleaner. I received this product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were only able to use this carpet cleaner twice before the belts broke multiple times. We replaced the belts twice before deciding this carpet cleaner is a lost cause. Every time it broke, it spewed out dirty water, which made my carpets even worse. It overheats so much that the belts just melt off. Very dangerous and smelled like fire every time I turned it on. There are better carpet cleaners, do not waste your money on this fire hazard.

Great for pet stains

I used this first on an area rug that had stains from pet throw up. The initial unboxing and putting together was simple and it came with the cleaner to add to water. I was able to put it together and as soon as I turned it on I could hear and see it working. There is a sprayer in the handle and spinning brushes on the carpet thay start to soak up the liquid/cleaner right away. The whole thing will lay back for easy mobility. Emptying the dirty water was easy, it said exactly where/how to remove. I have a lot more areas that need treatment but using this it won't take long! I was lucky and able to score this free as part of the stellar product testing panel.

This deep cleaner was a very easy-to-use device. Putting it together out of the box was an uncomplicated affair. Compared to other bulkier machines, it was relatively lightweight which made it quite portable throughout my house. For all of these reasons, I wanted very much to fall in love with this deep cleaner. While I was using the deep cleaner, it kept leaving wet clumps of dirt, fur, and hair everywhere it went. This was after doing a thorough sweep of the floors prior to deep cleaning. It also fell short in the suction department. Right away I could see that it was having difficulties with sucking the fluids up from the carpet. Over 24 hours after I used the deep cleaner in my bedroom, the floors were still wet enough that it was soaking through my socks without difficulty. Having wet floors afterwards is to be expected and from previous experience, I knew it was going to take a few hours. Even with fans blowing on the carpets, my carpets were so saturated that it took almost 48 hours for my floors to be dry again. I had only tested the deep cleaner on half of the carpet in that room so that I could have a point of reference. Once they were dry, I could barely tell that I had done anything to my floors. I was given this carpet cleaner to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

Thanks for the feedback! The process of deep cleaning will pull up a lot of hair and debris that normal vacuum can miss. Since machines like this are only designed to suction water, you may notice this hair or debris balling up on the surface or the carpet. Best Lightweight Carpet Cleaner

I was given this carpet cleaner to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I bought another carpet cleaner from this brand about 6 years ago that is much larger and heavier than this one. I loved it and how well it cleaned but it was HEAVY. This carpet cleaner is not as wide and much lighter. The width is a better fit for getting under and around furniture. I used this carpet cleaner in 2 bedrooms. My oldest 2 kids share a room and the dog spends a lot of time in there lying on the floor. I had noticed before receiving this carpet cleaner that their room had a bad "dog" smell. After using this carpet cleaner, the smell was completely gone. It's been over a week now since cleaning the carpet and the smell is still gone. There weren't any visible stains on their carpet that I noticed so I can't speak on its ability to get out stains. I also used this on my 1 year old's carpet. His wasn't as smelly as the other room but it smells much better in his room now. Both of my sons (1 yo and 5 yo) have asthma and this machine and cleaner did not flare up their asthma and probably helped getting that extra dust, dog hair, etc out of their carpet. The machine held just enough water/cleaner to clean one bedroom without having to refill. This was the perfect amount. I did not mind refilling after each room. The machine was also easy to clean afterwards. I mostly just rinsed the parts that come off and they were clean. I did have to wipe down some of the clear plastic by the brush head but the lint came off easily. I set the parts on some paper towels and left on the counter to dry. Overall, I really like this carpet cleaner. It's better than the bulkier version from the standpoint of maneuverability. The other one may clean stains etc better but I'm not sure since I didn't have stains to use it on.

Extremely Disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this product less than a year ago. I've used it less than a handful of times and it already stopped working properly. As I was running it for the THIRD time, it started to make a weird sound and I could smell something "burning" Initially, I thought it was electrical and immediately unplugged it. Once I verified it wasn't electrical and turned it back on, I noticed that the brush wasn't spinning. I troubleshooted online and I looked up instructions on how to check the belt and did that. To my disappointment the belt had completely snapped and was rubbing into the machine basically shredding away at the plastic. I don't even know if replacing the belt would even fix it bc of the warped plastic. Again, it's less than a year old and used THREE times. Such a let down because I was so excited for since I already own the Bissell Little Green Portable carpet cleaner and it's worked great for years.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted this cleaner to work sooo bad! But, it is absolutely terrible. It does well to dispense and suck up, but everytime it has a drain of mud that comes out of it on the left side, creating a streak of dirt with every stroke. Then it leaks in some way, dirt water or clean+formula because it doesn't always clip into place. I give it two stars because it does clean decent when it doesn't leak or leave a streak, but you have to clean it every two strides. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I really want to love it, but the leaks have to stop

I just bought this product, and as really excited to try it out in our home since we rent and can't pull off our carpets. The first time I used it (thank goodness this happened within the first 30 days from purchase), the clean water tank was slightly leaking before we even placed it on the machine. Then, as the machine was in use, it kept leaving behind balls of dirt, dust, and hair. I thought it was being sprayed from the cleaning solution, but no I noticed it was clumps of dirt from the dirty water tank. The machine was leaking from the bottom and coming out from the nozzle, spilling back on to my carpet which made the "not so dirty parts" dirty.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
