The cleaning power alone makes it stand out—after just one pass, my carpets looked noticeably brighter and felt genuinely clean, not just surface-level refreshed.
One of the biggest tests in my house is sticky, set-in messes (hello kids), and this machine handled them surprisingly well. Spots that I honestly thought were permanent lifted with minimal effort, especially when I went over them slowly. It didn’t take multiple rounds or a ton of scrubbing, which I really appreciated.
The steam function is what really sets this apart. You can actually see and feel the difference with the real steam—it gives you that deeper clean feeling and helps loosen grime in a way that standard carpet cleaners just don’t. It made tackling tougher areas feel a lot easier and more effective.
I also loved the self-cleaning cycle. Great for messes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using the Bissell Revolution HydroSteam for a little while now and it’s honestly been really helpful in our house. I have little kids, so spills and random messes on the couch and rugs are pretty much a daily thing. I wanted something that could actually deep clean without being too complicated to use and this has worked really well for that.
The cleaning power is really solid. The first time I used it on our living room rug I was surprised at how much dirt it pulled out. The water tank was pretty gross afterward, which showed me it was actually lifting stuff out of the carpet and not just surface cleaning. It’s also been great for upholstery. I’ve used it on our couch for juice spills and food stains and it cleaned them up much better than I expected.
I really like is the steam function. The fact that it uses real steam seems to help loosen up sticky or dried messes before the machine pulls everything up. With kids, that’s huge because a lot of the stains I’m dealing with are things that have already dried or gotten ground into the fabric.
The self-cleaning cycle is another thing I appreciate. It’s really easy to run and helps flush out the machine so it doesn’t get gross after using it. That makes a big difference because I’ve had other cleaners before that were annoying to clean afterward.
The machine is a little bulky and if you’re doing a big area you may have to refill the tank but overall it’s been really worth it for our house. Being able to quickly clean messes on the couch or rug without stressing about stains has been a lifesaver with little kids around. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re dealing with the same kind of everyday messes.

My overall impression is positive. Great carpet cleaner

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam. I have pets, and keeping my rugs and furniture clean can be a total pain in the behind. This makes it so easy. The cleaner does a great job of using the water system to clean up stains, but it also is fantastic at drying the area very quickly. It sucks the water back up into the vacuum very effectively. Unlike other cleaners, you don't have to stay off your rugs for a day or two to let them dry.
I am even more happy about the upholstery tool. I have never had an effective way to clean my couches, and now I finally do. I feel like my furniture was so gross before, but now I can actually use soap and actually CLEAN it. It is such a good feeling!

Great for carpet cleaning

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have three young kids, so my carpets go through a lot with food spills, drinks, and dirt. I was really excited to try the Bissell Revolution HydroSteam, and overall, I’m very impressed.
The cleaning power is strong. After using it, the dirty water tank was black, which honestly says everything. It clearly pulled a lot of dirt out of our carpets that regular vacuuming leaves behind. The room looked noticeably fresher and cleaner afterward.
It did a solid job tackling everyday messes and many of the tougher spots. Some stains came out completely, while others needed a couple of passes or didn’t fully disappear, but there was still a big improvement. For high traffic areas and kid messes, it definitely holds up.
The steam feature is a standout. I really appreciated that it uses real steam, not just hot water. When we went over tougher spots a few times with the steam, it noticeably helped break down dirt and grime much better than standard cleaning alone.
The self cleaning function is super convenient and easy to use. It takes the hassle out of maintenance, which is a big plus, especially after seeing how much dirt it pulls out.
I also love the different attachments. It makes it easier to clean more than just carpets, especially with kids around. We have a light colored couch, which stains so easily. I cannot wait to use this for that.
Not every stain disappeared from our carpet completely, but the overall cleaning performance, steam power, and ease of use make this machine a great choice for families. It made a visible difference in our carpets, and I would definitely recommend it.

Excellent cleaning power

I have used other cleaners without this feature. It’s easy and straightforward to operate, great for us as a family of 7 with kids ranging from 0 to 16.

Works on multiple carpets tough stains and more

We recently had a flood and have been cleaning everything up, and this has honestly been a lifesaver. You can clearly see the difference on my installed carpet—one side versus the other is noticeably cleaner. It really helped bring the carpet back and remove stains that I didn’t think would come out.
We also have multiple carpets and rugs with different colors and textures, and it worked well on all of them. You can see the difference in the before and after, and the dirty water tank was shocking—it pulled out so much grime, which made me feel like it was truly deep cleaning and not just surface cleaning.

Steam is a game changer

First of all, this is one of the most pleasingly aesthetic carpet cleaners I have ever seen! It feels and looks well made! This steam cleaner did an elite job compared to others that I’ve tried! The steam function is impressive in that I felt like it did a great job sanitizing and getting stains out. This carpet cleaner did a great job on fresh and old stains alike from kids, pets, and life in general. I did try to use it to get some old Play-Doh off, but it wasn’t entirely successful. I still had to scrape at it and a stain was left over, but that’s the only stain I wasn’t able to substantially remove!
Initially I was concerned that it was going to leave my carpets wetter than expected, but it did not! Additionally I was intimidated by how well made it was and was worried it would be too hard to clean, but the self clean feature knocked my socks off! This carpet cleaner is phenomenal! I highly recommend it for families with kids and or pets!
