The future vacuum

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As both a teacher and a parent, I’m always looking for ways to make home life a little easier and a little cleaner. Anyone who works with kids all day knows that messes are simply part of the job description — whether they happen in the classroom or at home. Between muddy shoes, spilled snacks, craft projects, and the occasional pet accident, our floors go through a lot.
Recently, I tried a steam vacuum cleaner, and it has quickly become one of the most helpful cleaning tools in our house. With kids and pets running around, it feels like there is always something on the floor that needs attention, so having a machine that can handle everyday messes efficiently has been a huge help.
Overall cleaning power:
I was genuinely impressed with the overall cleaning power. It does a great job lifting dirt, pet hair, and debris from carpets and rugs, especially in high-traffic areas like our entryway and living room. Instead of having to go over the same area multiple times, the suction and steam combination made it easy to clean floors thoroughly in one pass.

Sticky or stuck-on messes:
One of the things I wanted to see was how well it handled the types of messes kids tend to leave behind—juice spills, snack residue, and other sticky spots. It actually tackled those stuck-on messes much better than I expected. The steam helped loosen the grime so the vacuum could lift it away without me needing to scrub or pretreat the spot.

The steam power function was one of my favorite features. I really appreciated that it uses real steam because it helps break down dirt and odors while reducing the need for harsh chemicals. As a parent, that’s something I value since kids and pets spend a lot of time playing on the floor. The steam also seemed to refresh the carpets and make them look brighter after cleaning.

Another feature I really liked was the self-cleaning cycle. After using the machine, being able to run the cleaning cycle made maintenance incredibly easy. It helps rinse out the internal parts so everything stays clean and ready for the next use. The process was simple and only took a few minutes, which is great for busy households that don’t have time for complicated upkeep.

Overall, this steam vacuum cleaner has been a great addition to our home. It handles everyday family messes, helps keep floors looking fresh, and saves time when it comes to cleaning. For families with kids, pets, or just a lot of activity in the house, it’s definitely a tool worth having. It makes tackling messes feel much less overwhelming and helps keep our home feeling clean and welcoming—even on the busiest days.

So easy to use and so quick to dry

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having 3 kids under 5 AND a cat AND carpet in the majority of my house has definitely left us with some spots that don’t look like the rest of the carpet, no matter how much we scrub. We also borrowed a carpet cleaner from a family member but it didn’t get the stains out, just seemed to pick up more dirt than our vacuum cleaner. We are now a week into using our Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam, and we have almost cleaned our entire house with it! It’s super easy to use and the steam is a game changer. It really picks up then stains and the stick! My absolute two favorite things are how fast it drys (as there’s no way I could keep my kids off something for 24 hours!) and how great it smells! My house feels so fresh and new after each room we use it in! I also love how easy it is to use on upholstery! My kids have child size furniture and they wipe everything on it, and this cleaned it up looking like new in no time! My husband thinks it’s so easy to use that he wants to do rooms just for fun! But when your kid or pet has an accident, it’s so fast to pull it out and spot clean as well instead of getting the bucket of soapy water and scrubbing to no end. It’s a life saver, especially because my husband volunteers to do it-that has never happened before in the history of our marriage for scrubbing or vacuuming!

Deep Clean Duo

It's an investment, but for deep-cleaning performance, it's hard to beat. The steam breaks down dried and sticky messes for a quicker deeper clean. Excellent at pulling up pet hair, dander and smells from carpets/rugs. Upholstery attachment worked amazingly on my couch. However no steam through the attachment. I didn’t find the dry time to be excessive. It was very easy to disassemble and clean after each use. I would love it if maybe the dirty canister had a little more volume for holding the waste. It is also VERY heavy. But, all in all a solid investment machine for busy households

Game Changer

My kids don’t quite understand that just because you can wipe your hands on it doesn’t make it a napkin or clean. The Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam is a game-changer. It cleans so well and makes my living room carpet like new. It was amazing at doing everything my house needs it do.
We have a shag carpet in our home which makes me always wonder if it is getting clean with the regular vacuum cleaner, but this machine gives me that assurance. It had such great cleaning power, and I not only saw the dirty water cycle in, but I could also feel the suction. I had a stain on my floor that I couldn’t quite get out by hand and the Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam got it out! The steam power function with real steam did the trick to loosen it and make it clean right out. AMAZING. Best of all, the worst part of cleaning carpets is the wait time for everything to dry. It dried so quickly, probably a half hour or less! Just what this busy mom of 3 needs!
The stair tool and detachable cleaner made it possible to take this large machine everywhere in the house. It cleaned everything from my dining room chairs to my stairs. It’s easy to assemble and use.
The self-cleaning cycle is something I’ve never had in a carpet cleaner, but I love it! I’ve had carpet cleaners in the past that start to smell and just feel a little “gunky” but this one cleaned itself and makes me feel confident that I won’t have that problem in the future.
All in all, if you are looking for a carpet cleaner, this is it! If you have pets in the home, I’m sure it will be even more amazing.

Excellent Cleaning Power Minor Usability Issues

Overall, the cleaning power was great. I used the Bissell Revolution HydroSteam on a rug that I’ve had for about five years that had never been deep cleaned—only occasionally vacuumed. With two kids (currently ages 3 and 6), our rug has seen plenty of spills and stains over the years. After using the machine, I could clearly see adifference. The rug looked deeply cleaned and even felt fluffier underfoot, almost like it was new again.

How Well It Tackled Sticky, Stuck-On Messes
The Bissell did a great job tackling sticky, stuck-on messes. It removed almost every
stain except one mysterious yellow stain that I still can’t identify. It successfully removed
stains from ketchup, juice, sunscreen, and tracked-in dirt, which was impressive given
how long some of those had been there.

I really appreciate that this machine uses real steam. Knowing that the steam is helping
sanitize the carpet gave me extra confidence that the rug was not just clean on the
surface but deeply cleaned.

the self-cleaning cycle there was a puddle of water underneath the machine. I recommend placing a tray, baking sheet, or even cardboard underneath it so water
doesn’t end up on your floor.

Pet Proven Carpet Cleaner Saves The Day

This was my first experience with Hydrosteam technology, and I was honestly amazed by the results. I had been struggling to remove old dog urine stains and odors from the carpet in an upstairs storage room. I’d already tried multiple spray and scrub products, but nothing worked. The stains always came back, and the smell kept getting worse.
Right out of the box, this cleaner was incredibly simple to set up. It took less than five minutes to assemble and fill the tank with the included urine removal formula and water. Once I started cleaning, the results were instant. The stains lifted immediately, and the unpleasant odor completely disappeared. The overall cleaning power was outstanding. The machine didn’t just mask the smell; it truly restored the carpet.
The steam function made all the difference. I really appreciated that the HydroSteam uses real steam to deep clean and sanitize surfaces. After using the product, it was easy to clean for the next use.

Never renting a carpet cleaner again

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always been skeptical of home carpet cleaners, usually opting for rentals instead. I was under the impression the rental had more power, suction & better ability to clean. After using the Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam I will never rent another carpet cleaner again. I am amazed at what a good job the Revolution Hydrosteam did. Our carpets are cleaned on a regular basis- both vacuuming & carpet cleaning. I was shocked at the amount of dirt & dog hair that was pulled out! The steam did an incredible job loosening dirt, debris & hair. I love knowing that this added feature also helped clean the carpet. I managed to get out stuck on smoothie & dirt from pets & kids. The machine was so easy to use and it moved back and forth on the carpet with ease. I love how easy it is to clean as well. The self clean hand held tools & pull back front panel means the machine cleans but can be cleaned thoroughly as well. I will absolutely be recommending this to family & friends!

It is a workhorse

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have throughly enjoyed every aspect of the Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam machine so far. Delivery, unpacking and assembly couldn’t have gone smoother. Everything is so well labeled on the machine itself along the way that I only picked up the manual to ensure I didn’t miss anything prior to turning it on. The design is sleek and appealing, but doesn’t compensate on functionality. I was impressed with the different brush attachments for the upholstery cleaner and excited to see a tool included for ease of cleaning the machine. I have owned a carpet cleaning machine in the past that did not include this cleaning tool and trust me when I say that little plastic tool is invaluable!! With 2 dogs, an almost 4 year old and one on the way, I was able to fully put this carpet cleaner to the test and will continue to do so for years to come. My entry way rug was the first to clean. There have been deep oil-like spots in it for quite some time and honestly, I have been casually looking for a replacement. Not anymore! The stubborn spots are practically unnoticeable unless on your hands and knees looking for them. I got these results within 20 minutes of unpacking the carpet cleaner and probably would have done so sooner without little child interference. Not pictured: I have also treated my daughter’s bright red lipstick out of my cream colored couch and paint from a sun catcher, dog vomit, and Diet Coke out of my carpet. With all these incidents listed, I must add that while I enjoy the steam feature, our recent messes have all been solved with the SteamWash Max (II)” setting. Though, slime has just entered our lives after much protest, so I’m sure it’s just a matter of time before the steam pretreat comes in handy. I also enjoyed the self cleaning cycle of the tough stain tool. It gave peace of mind before storing it after cleaning the lipstick off my couch. The last thing I’d want is for leakage from the tool to somehow transfer the next time I clean a stain.
My one piece of advice is to make sure you read the manual prior to removing the dirty tank! Everything else was so effortless that I got a little cocky and didn’t review and released the tank right onto the floor. Luckily, the machine sucked it right back up and I did a quick clean over it again. No fault of the machine at all, it was totally on me!
Overall, I highly recommend this product. With a little one on the way, it’s going to be a major part of my nesting phase. Emptying the dirty water down the drain is so gross, yet incredibly satisfying that it is no longer on the surfaces that my little one is going to be toddling around on.
