Effortless Carpet Maintenance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Finally, my carpet troubles are finally over! Life with our 3 kids has made keeping up with the carpets one of the biggest headaches. I was actually giggling with excitement as I watched the Bissel Revolution Hydrosteam leave a pristine trail of carpet in its wake.
Overall, this carpet cleaner cleans better than I ever would have guessed. Additionally, the ease of use puts it in another league. I was very eager to get to cleaning, and thankfully it was maybe 2 minutes of unboxing and then straight to cleaning. It came with two bottles of cleaning solution and they have made my carpets smell heavenly.
The steam coming out of this cleaner means business. As soon as you turn it on, it’s ready to steam in 35 seconds (the handy light comes on). I was blown away on just how much it steams. And then the suction after trigger release is the most therapeutic part of it all. I was both excited and disgusted as I watched the dirty water tank fill with dark brown/black water. How did that come from carpet I had professionally cleaned two months before?
I am so beyond pleased with this machine. I’m just mad at myself for not getting one sooner! 10/10 would recommend!

Powerful Carpet Cleaner That Actually Works

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Bissell Revolution HydroSteam has quickly become one of my favorite cleaning tools in our house! As a mom with two little ones, spills and stains are pretty much a daily occurrence, so having something that can handle deep cleaning on demand has been a game changer.
My favorite feature is definitely the steam function. Being able to steam-treat an area before using the brushes really helps loosen tough stains. I also love that the steam warms the water that’s dispensed, which makes cleaning feel even more effective when tackling messes that have been sitting for a while.
The brush system does a great job breaking up stains and lifting them out of the carpet. I’ve noticed a big difference in how easily it handles spots that other cleaners struggled with. The machine itself is also very straightforward to use. It is a little on the heavier side, but honestly that feels like a fair trade-off for the cleaning power it delivers.
The hose attachment has been especially helpful for cleaning everyday wear and tear on our couch and kitchen chairs. I also really appreciate the quick-dry mode, which uses less water when possible and helps carpets dry faster — a huge plus in a busy household.
Cleaning the machine afterward is pretty simple too since the parts come apart easily for washing. Just make sure everything is fully dry before putting it back together.
Overall, I’ve been really impressed with how well this cleaner handles tough, dried-on stains. If you have kids, pets, or just want the ability to deep clean whenever you need to, the Bissell Revolution HydroSteam is definitely worth checking out!

Just What I Needed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unboxing and setting this machine up went really well. The instructions were easy to follow and there were also indication stickers to help. There are fluid measurements for a small and a large area, and both these coincidentally work perfectly for our spaces so there's no waste. The instructions say not to use the pre-steam function on urine (one of my kids had an accident) so I did my first clean with only the steam & wash function. I don't know what I was expecting, but I was surprised when I was using the steam lever and seeing steam rising from the sides. It worked really well! I could even feel the carpet getting warm. At first I wasn't sure how much the carpet was actually getting clean though, because I couldn't tell by color, but then I checked the dirty water and I was shocked. It was getting at least twice as much filth up than my previous machine. The biggest thing I was worried about was if it could adequately pull the moisture out of the carpet. Yet again, the machine did a wonderful job. My husband got home right after I finished and didn't even notice the carpet feeling wet at all. The dirty water reservoir is pretty large and the machine itself is lighter than I expected. It didn't hurt my bad shoulder at all. My one and only disappointment is that the extension arm doesn't also have a steam function. That would have made it great on upholstery. Regardless, this feels like a great upgrade and I'm so happy to have this machine in my home. Tomorrow I'll be cleaning slime and grape juice stains out of another room and I'm confident it'll come out well.

A carpet cleaner with actual steam cleaning

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really impressed with the overall cleaning power of the Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam. Our home has very dense carpet that’s honestly pretty tough to clean well, so I was curious to see how it would perform. With two kids and a dog in the house, our carpets definitely see their fair share of traffic. This machine did a great job pulling dirt out of the carpet and leaving everything looking noticeably refreshed. I also really appreciated that it cleaned deeply without leaving the carpet overly wet or saturated afterward.
Between kids, snacks, and everyday life, sticky messes definitely happen in our house. The Hydrosteam handled those areas really well and helped loosen buildup in the carpet fibers. It made a noticeable difference in the spots that tend to get the most use in our home.
The steam feature was honestly one of my favorite parts. I loved knowing and seeing that it uses real steam because it made me feel like it was doing more than just surface cleaning. With kids and a dog running around, it gave me peace of mind knowing it was helping break down grime while also tackling the hidden bacteria and germs that can live deep in carpet fibers.
The machine was very easy to use overall, and the self-cleaning cycle made cleanup afterward simple, which I always appreciate. Anything that saves time when you’re juggling kids, pets, and a busy house is a win.
Overall, for a home with dense carpet, kids, and a dog constantly tracking things in, I was really happy with how well the Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam performed. It cleaned deeply, didn’t oversaturate the carpet, and left our floors looking and feeling much fresher.

It is almost perfect

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Before I get into the functionality of this Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam Carpet Cleaner, I first want to acknowledge how beautiful it is! The gold accents makes a seemingly unglamorous job feel like a luxury and not feel shameful for leaving it out in the open for company to view.
As a mom of 3, with my eldest being 6 years old, we know a thing or two about messes and sicknesses so I was appreciative to see this carpet cleaner also included steam. The assembly was a breeze and took less than 5 minutes to have up and running. I also loved that the disassembly was also just as quick and the Catch and Clean tray (clear cover) can be removed for deeper cleaning. As an added bonus, you get a clean out tool to help reach the smaller areas.
My 6 year old has discovered their love for painting and unfortunately some found its way onto the carpet. Although the stain had been there for over a week, I was able to get the paint out with a few passes and you can’t even tell there was paint there. You have the option of filling the tank for a large or small area, so that really came in handy since I didn’t want to clean the entire floor at that moment.
When the carpet cleaner is in Steam Pretreat Mode it is practically silent. However, you can’t use this mode with the hose. That is one of my biggest complaints because I would love to steam clean furniture surfaces as well. My other complaint, although fairly minor, is that the fill hole for the water tank is a bit small. I wish you could remove the lid for faster filling and less of a mess. I assume you’re unable to remove the lid because it doubles as the carrying handle, but if they were able to add a locking feature to the lid I think that would work.
Aside from those two cons, I think this is a beautiful machine that does what it says it will do. If you have little ones or even a pet, do yourself and your carpet a favor by getting this carpet cleaner. I am a more at ease mom because I know if an accident happens, I can clean it up quickly.

Between the spills, the "mystery" sticky spots, and the general high traffic, keeping my carpets clean often feels like a losing battle. I’ve tried several cleaners before, but the Bissell Revolution HydroSteam is truly in a league of its own. It’s a top-tier machine that has earned a permanent spot in my cleaning arsenal.

The most impressive part is the HydroSteam Technology. In the past, I’ve always had to do at least two passes to get a deep clean, but the addition of real steam cut my work time in half.

The steam allowed the cleaning solution to penetrate deeply into the fibers, making it incredibly easy to lift those stubborn, dried-on messes the kids leave behind. It felt like the machine was doing the heavy lifting for me, rather than me having to scrub.

One of the absolute worst parts of owning a carpet cleaner is the dreaded cleanup of the machine itself after the job is done. The self-cleaning cycle on this model is amazing. It’s quick and easy to use, and it makes the post-cleaning process so much less of a chore. It really keeps the machine fresh and ready for the next "oops" moment.

A Small Trade-Off
If I had to find one "con," it would be that even with the wonderful self-cleaning cycle, you still need to dismantle and hand-wash a few parts to ensure everything is perfectly clean and dry for storage. It takes a little extra time, but given how much time I saved during the actual cleaning process, it’s a very fair trade-off.

Steam Option is a Game Changer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The kitchen adjacent carpet has had these gross mysterious stain spots for the last 3 years. I previously tried spot cleaning them with a portable carpet cleaner without much luck. I’ve also been looking for an upright carpet cleaner to cover more surface. Enter the Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam! I’ve always wanted to try using steam to help loosen carpet stains.
Setup was easy! The clean water bin and handle snapped into the unit easily. The set also included some cleaning solutions which I thought were too fragrant as I’m sensitive to certain scents. I actually skipped out on using any cleaner as a test to see if steam alone was enough to notice a difference. I set the unit to the steam pretreat and hit the dirtiest areas, then used steamwash max setting to go over small areas at a time before trying to extract as much water as possible with a bunch of passes. I noticed that some “dirt piles” would be left behind after some passes, but those were easily sucked back up on another pass.
The spots came out, and the dirty water tank showed how much grime was hanging out in the carpet. It’s both satisfying and horrifying. Keep in mind, this was using hot water and steam only! For smaller jobs like stairs and upholstery, it was nice to have the option to use a hose with tool- unfortunately no steam option when using this, but it was good for getting a regular clean. The self cleaning option using tough stain tool was really cool and convenient not requiring a whole additional source of water to “rinse” like I’ve had to use with other machines.
Overall I was amazed at how much I felt the steam helped lift these old mystery stains. I wish the suction for water extraction could’ve been stronger as the steam does create more wetness, but I feel like it’s a small price to pay for the luxury of having the steam option!

Tested by a Toddlers Dogs and a Mechanic

I tried the Bissell Revolution HydroSteam on four small rugs first, and the dirty water afterward was honestly shocking. Apparently they were way grosser than they looked.
