Great for Deep Cleaning
on March 15, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Bissell Revolution Hydrostream is a really nice vacuum for when you need to get deeper into the carpet. I personally love a cordless stick vacuum for most situations, but I have a dog and a toddler, so I break the revolution hydrostream out when I need to do a deep clean and really get into our carpet. It has a great suction, it’s not as heavy as I had expected, the steam seems to work well, though I haven’t had a lot of necessity for that function in my every day life yet (maybe it’ll come in handy eventually, who knows), and overall it just works well when you need a heavier duty vacuum for deeper cleaning!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great for a busy household

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve actually been really happy with the cleaning power of the Bissell Revolution HydroSteam. We’re currently potty training at our house so the rugs have needed a few extra cleanings lately, and it’s done a great job getting the messes out. It handled some sticky spots really well too. I like the steam feature because it feels like it’s giving the carpets a deeper clean. The self-cleaning cycle is also really easy to use, which I appreciate because I don’t have a lot of time to deal with complicated cleanup. Overall it’s been really helpful to have aroun esp with little kids and the their mess.

Easy Cleaning but long dry time
on March 15, 2026
Posted by: ClarkInc22
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The short and simple review of this steamer is that it is extremely easy to use, the steamer extends this beyond just a stain remover, but also a way to refresh carpets. The only Con, is the dry time afterwards, but that is nearly just something that requires additional planning.
I am a dad of two young girls, and while stains do happen, I feel we had more of an issue with refreshing our carpets that the kids play on all day every day.
The steam clean function does a great job of truly making the carpets feel and smell like new.
If you are using it to clean messes it does that pretty easily. Food stains that are still wet are obliterated as if they never happened. And since this is pretty easy to setup, pretty much a vacuum you just fill with water and cleaning solution and it’s good to go. So getting to stains quickly is a snap.
The one CON, but is likely more of an issue to be planned for is how wet this makes floors. When cleaning thinner area rugs you’re looking at an hour or so (with fan) for this to dry. For room carpets with a bit thinker pile you’re probably looking at a few hours or overnight for it to dry completely. I think this is mostly due to the suction power of it just being a stand up vacuum. Ventilation and how big a fan you use plays a factor, but still if you’ve ever rented a carpet cleaner do not expect the same suction power.
The accessories for cleaning upholstery or small stains works exactly as you’d expect. It does have this self cleaning feature for this accessory hose where you can close off the end of the tool and it’ll cycle water thru cleaning it. This was a new and easy feature to me that I thought was a nice addition but saw that this is becoming the norm on all new carpet machines.
In the end I would recommend this for anyone with kids, especially if you wanting to refresh area rugs in a playroom/mud room to get out the general funk they get. This makes a big difference in the overall smell of the room without having to spray air freshener which you know are just masking an unpleasant scent.
I would not recommend this if you have mostly thick/long pile carpet as this likely won’t dry your carpet fast enough for it to be all that convenient.

Love the Hydrosteam Cleaner
on March 15, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love the Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam carpet cleaner. It has a very eye appealing look and I like the metallic details to the unit. It is very easy to use and has a couple different settings which is great. I really like that you can pretreat a spot with steam first and then switch to the full cleaning mode. This carpet cleaner is also pretty quiet to use. I cleaned one section of a room so that I could see the difference, which you could definitely tell which was cleaned and which was not. I also really liked that I was able to clean my couch with the attachments. I was easily able to remove sticky messes made by my children. I really appreciated that it uses real steam and adds to the cleaning unit as a whole. When I was done, it was very easy to clean and get all the gross yuck from my carpets. I really like this carpet cleaner and would definitely recommend it to anyone that was looking to purchase one.

Sticky Kid Messes Meet Their Match
on March 15, 2026
Posted by: Megan
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a mom of three young kids, our carpets see a lot of messes—spilled juice, snack crumbs, sticky spots, you name it. I was really impressed with the overall cleaning power of the BISSELL Revolution Hydrosteam. It pulled up way more dirt than I expected, and you can actually see how much grime it’s removing in the dirty water tank. After cleaning, the carpets looked brighter and felt much fresher. It also gave this mama more peace of mind with a baby crawling around!
For sticky, stuck-on messes, it did a really good job. I tried it on a few spots where something had clearly been spilled and dried, and the combination of the cleaning solution and steam helped loosen everything up. I didn’t have to go over the same spot a bunch of times like I have with other carpet cleaners.
The steam function is probably my favorite feature. I love that it uses real steam because it feels like it’s really helping break down tougher messes and deep-clean the carpet. As much as I don't like cleaning, this was actually enjoyable getting to see the steam and the grim being pulled up from the carpet with every swipe.
The self-cleaning cycle is also super convenient. After I finished cleaning, I just ran the cycle and it flushed out the hose and system for me. It was really easy and saves the hassle of trying to rinse everything out by hand. With the limited time I have to clean, I hate having to clean a device itself after I already spent the time cleaning.
The only negative thing I would have to say about this carpet cleaner is that it is quite bulky and heavy. It is another cleaning device to have to store, and was kind of heavy carrying it up and down the stairs.
Overall, this has been a great carpet cleaner for a busy household. With three little kids constantly making messes, it’s nice to have something that actually makes cleaning the carpets feel manageable.

Carpet Like New
on March 15, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the first standup carpet cleaner I've owned. Since getting a cat, I figured it was time. We've had stains on the carpet from stuff coming out both ends of the cat that we couldn't quite completely remove with a hand-held. The Bissell was easy to prep, with lines showing where to fill with water and with cleaner. The steam light went on in under 30 seconds as advertised. It took a few seconds to get going after pulling the trigger, then the steam/water was consistent afterwards. It has impressive cleaning power, both with the suction and the brush roller. When I was all done and the carpet had dried, those stubborn stains were gone. Having the steam option made all of the difference in getting a carpet that looks as clean as when it was first installed.
The cleaning was a cinch. The base popped off and the hair catch slid right out. It picked up more human and cat hair than my vacuum did. Throw the hair in the garbage, rinse out the tanks and brush guard, give it a quick wipe down, then leave it out to dry.

Cleaned years worth of pet and kid stains
on March 15, 2026
Posted by: Cheleana
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using the BISSELL Revolution HydroSteam and I'm honestly really impressed with it.
For context, my house definitely puts cleaning products to the test. I have two dogs, one cat, two kids, and a husband who apparently believes shoes are meant to stay on indoors. So stains, dirt, and mystery messes are pretty common around here. Because of that, I really wanted something that could actually deep clean and not just make the carpet look better temporarily.
The overall cleaning power is incredible. I used it on an area rug and parts of my carpet that had years of stains and buildup, and I could literally see the difference after just one pass. It pulled out dirt that I didn't even realize was still trapped in the carpet.
One thing I didn't expect was how satisfying it is to actually watch it clean in real time. Seeing the dirty water being pulled up and the carpet immediately looking better is weirdly rewarding. My husband and I both stood there watching it for a minute like…Okay wow... this thing actually works. Haha
One of my favorite features is the steam function. I love that it uses real steam because it really helps break up sticky or stuck-on messes before the machine pulls everything out. There were spots that normally would have needed scrubbing, but the steam loosened them enough that the machine lifted them right up.
It handled sticky areas and older stains surprisingly well. The combination of the steam, brushes, and suction made a huge difference compared to a normal carpet cleaner.
I also really appreciated the self-cleaning cycle. It's simple to use and makes cleanup afterward much easier. Being able to rinse out the brush roll and internal parts so the machine stays clean is a really helpful feature.
The only downside I would mention is that it's a little heavy and bulky, so it can feel like a bit of a workout if you're cleaning a large area. But considering how powerful it is and how well it cleans, I think that's a fair trade-off.
Overall, I'm really happy with it. It brought years of stains out of my rug and carpet, which is saying a lot in a house with pets, kids, and a husband who treats the living room like it's still outdoors. Definitely worth it if you're looking for something that can actually deep clean.

Powerful and Quiet Cleaner
on March 15, 2026
Posted by: Jordyn
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve owned an older Bissell carpet cleaner before, so I was really interested to see how the Revolution HydroSteam compared. My first impression was how easy it was to put together. Assembly took just a few minutes and everything clicked into place easily. The machine itself feels very high end. It’s sturdy and well built without being overly bulky, and it genuinely feels like a powerful cleaning machine.
One design feature I really appreciated is that Bissell added helpful little instruction notes directly on the machine. They show how to remove certain parts or access pieces for cleaning, which makes it much easier to use without constantly needing to reference the manual.
Once I started cleaning, I was impressed with how quiet the machine is. It’s actually the quietest carpet cleaner I’ve used, which was a pleasant surprise. The HydroSteam feature is also great. I liked being able to switch between the Pretreat mode and the SteamWash Max Clean mode depending on the mess I was tackling. The steam really seems to help lift dirt, and after cleaning my carpet felt noticeably fresher and smelled clean.
The machine does use a decent amount of water for the area I cleaned. That’s not necessarily a bad thing since it helps flush out dirt, but it does make me think I’ll go through cleaning solution fairly quickly with regular use. That said, the solution is concentrated and only requires a small amount in the clean water tank, which helps offset that.
Cleanup also looks like it will be easier than my older Bissell model. The dirty water tank design seems simplified with fewer pieces, which should make rinsing it out between uses much less of a hassle.
If I had one downside, it would be drying time. Compared to my Shark carpet cleaner, the Shark seems to have stronger suction and leaves the carpet noticeably drier after cleaning. With the Bissell, the carpet stayed damp longer than I expected. It’s not a deal breaker, but with two small kids, dogs, and cats it can be a little tricky to keep everyone off the area while it dries.
Overall though, I’m really impressed with the Revolution HydroSteam. It feels durable, well designed, and the steam cleaning feature is a great upgrade for tackling deeper messes.
