The steam is a GAME CHANGER

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been really impressed with the Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam. The biggest win for me is how little moisture it leaves behind thanks to the steam function. I also love actually seeing the steam working— it feels like it cleans better than any other heavy‑duty carpet cleaner I’ve used in the past. Because of the steam and strong absorption, my carpets were only slightly damp and dried much faster than I expected. It’s also lightweight, easy to move and maneuver, and as a bonus, the design and copper color make it a much nicer‑looking machine than most carpet cleaners.
In terms of performance, it pulled up a deep stain in just two passes, even after I had spent 30 minutes scrubbing it with another cleaner the night before with almost no success. I also really appreciate that it sucks carpet lint and hair directly into the dirty‑water bin instead of leaving clumps behind on the floor. Cleaning the machine is also simple, and most of the parts are easy to take apart and rinse.
My only complaint is the clear suction piece on the front that pulls the water up. I’m not sure if anything can be changed about the design, but debris gets stuck in there at the end of cleaning, and it’s hard to access or dry out. If possible, adding a small trap door on the back for easier drying would be a huge improvement, since I worry that those hard‑to‑reach areas might hold moisture and eventually lead to mold.
Overall, the Hydrosteam does an excellent job and makes deep cleaning feel quick and manageable. I definitely recommend it—it’s my favorite carpet cleaner/steamer to date. I’m also extremely excited to try it on my upholstery!

Good for cleaning but not for tough messes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, the Bissell steam cleaner was easy to assemble and straightforward to use. As someone with kids, I’m always dealing with spills and messes, and it did a decent job refreshing carpets and cleaning larger areas. The amount of dirt from our rug was significant!
However, the machine is quite large and heavy, which makes it harder to move around. It also struggled with tougher, stuck-on stains and left a noticeable white residue behind.
I liked that it uses real steam and the self-cleaning cycle was simple to run, which makes maintenance easier. Overall, it’s a good option for light carpet cleaning but not the best for deep stain removal.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent cleaning function

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] TLDR; Cleans recent spills and messes efficiently, but you should clean it after each use.
What I appreciate about this steamer is its long heavy duty power cord, use of plastic that does not feel cheap or flimsy but reduces weight, ease of use, components that fit together with a snap, and its efficiency at cleaning recent messes.
To set expectations, it does not remove old stains from dyes or bleach, it isn't light compared to a vacuum, and it isn't self-cleaning (even if it has this mode, you will still need to clean it to keep it in good working condition). The weight is reasonable as this is a steamer and not a stick vacuum, and Bissell did a great job including balancing quality parts for a reasonable weight. It works well to clean recent spills, so don't expect a miracle with something that cannot be removed like a dye, old stain, or bleached product to return back to its original color. As the instructions mention, this product can clean up accidents with slime, jelly, honey, syrup, chocolate sauce, blood, wine, urine, mud, juice, grease, vomit, baby food, and spaghetti sauce.

Steam powered vacuum for those stubborn stains

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For the past several days I have been testing the Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam in my home. I was very impressed with all of the functions that it has. I first tested it on a rug that gets medium traffic in our house and I was both delighted (and disgusted!) to see what it pulled up! Then my sons gave me the opportunity to see how well it could remove mud from the entry rug inside our front door. I was nervous that it would make the muddy mess worse, but it did a wonderful job removing what could have easily become a stained, ruined rug. I love that it comes included with accessories to use the vacuum on things like couches or upholstery and the two different cleaning solutions. Not only does it come with several accessories, but I was so happy to see that it came with a bag for them all! The simplest things that not all companies provide. It was so nice to have a designated place to put everything straight out of the box. I absolutely LOVED the self-cleaning cycle! My family makes enough of a mess as is, so I was so happy that this vacuum not only helps clean up that mess, but is also one less thing for me to clean up after or maintain. Overall, I really loved this product, it's not your typical handheld steam cleaner, the power of the Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam really gets the job done!

Incredibly mighty machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Earlier this year, I loaned my Bissell ProHeat upright carpet cleaner out to a family member who didn’t realize that it needs to be thoroughly cleaned out after each use. When it was returned to me, it no longer worked. To be clear: this is not a complaint! That good ol’ ProHeat was a total workhorse and served me well for many years (10+!!!) but I have to admit that I was not looking forward to having to replace it. Though the expense is worth it, these machines are indeed an expense. But, after a couple of weeks of relying solely on my Little Green Pet Pro for toddler and dog messes, I was really, really missing having an upright. So, you can imagine how thrilled I was when the Revolution Hydrosteam showed up on my doorstep! It was quick and easy to unpack, assemble, and put it to work. And everything I needed—from attachment tools to cleaning solutions—was included (love this about Bissell). I decided to test it out in our high-traffic breezeway as its carpeting has been long overdue for a deep clean, and the results were grossly horrifying, yet also remarkably satisfying. I could not believe how much dirt and debris the carpet was hiding. I thought my ProHeat was powerful, but the Revolution Hydrosteam seems much mightier, and it also feels a lot sturdier to me (though, this may be in part because it’s brand new). Like my old one, it does need to be cleaned after each use, but I’m used to that. I am so, so glad to have a Bissell upright carpet cleaner in my vacuum line-up again. Essential for anyone with kids or pets (or, in my case, both!)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This carpet cleaner is fantastic. It pulled up so many old stains that I have struggled to get out for months. The steam really assisted in lifting the old stains, I’ve tried my steam cleaner on those set in stains and they still wouldn’t come out. After a couple passes with this using the steam setting, it came out like it was a cake walk. I appreciate how simple it is to use, the temperature light telling you when it’s hot enough for the steam setting to work.
It is also probably the quietest carpet cleaner I have ever used, most hight some serious decibels, but this one is on the lower end and closer to the same noise level as a regular vacuum cleaner. For a carpet cleaner that does so much and works so well I am quite impressed at its compact size, I have had a pet pro bissell in the past and it was quite large and not the easiest to maneuver. But this one is a very manageable size with large tanks for solution water and dirty water, I was able to clean a whole 5x7 rug in both directions without refilling the tank once.
The attachment is great for cleaning upholstery, I used it on our recliner and now it looks brand new! The attachment has a self cleaning switch to get all the trapped dirt, dust and hair in the tool. This is such a nice feature, so gone are the days of cleaning with a visibly dirty tool. The hose attachment also comes with a bag for easy storage. I especially like that the hose is separate from the carpet cleaner itself keeping things out of the way and organized.
Overall, I really love this carpet cleaner as it has pulling stains out that even our carpet cleaning company couldn’t get out. This will be added to our house cleaning routine.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam is a must have if you have pets or kids! It was so easy to set up and the directions were so helpful. I can’t believe how well it cleaned my carpet…so much dirt was pulled from the carpet that I didn’t even realize was there! I also love that you can actually see the steam so you know it is really working. It also comes with a carry case for all the extra attachments. I am usually not one to be excited to clean but the Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam is making me want to steam clean every room!
