Powerful Cleaner That Makes Carpet Cleaning Easy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using the Bissell Revolution HydroSteam for a little while now and I’m really happy with it. The overall cleaning power is great and my carpets definitely look fresher after using it, especially in the areas that get the most traffic.
It did a really good job with sticky, stuck-on messes too. With kids in the house, we get our fair share of spills and random spots, and this cleaner handled them way better than ones I have used before. Most of the stains came up without me having to go over them a bunch of times.
The steam power feature is probably my favorite part. It definitely helped loosen up some older stains and grime that had been sitting there for a while.
The self-cleaning cycle is also really convenient. It’s super easy to run and makes cleanup afterward a lot simpler.
Overall, it’s been a really solid carpet cleaner. It’s easy to use, cleans really well, and handles both everyday messes and tougher stains without a lot of effort. Definitely happy with it so far.

Love the steam clean

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam is easy to use and really packs a punch. I vacuumed my carpet before cleaning, and the Hydrosteam still picked up a ton of dirt and debris that must have settled further into the carpet. I used the steam pre-treatment on one stain in particular, and while I didn’t notice the result at first, as the carpet dried there was a significant reduction in the stain. I honestly should have probably used the steam pre-treatment on the whole carpet. Just a few days after cleaning our toddler had an accident, so I used the steam pre-treatment over a larger area of the carpet, and it was noticeable how much more it had come back to life. Even just a few days later the Hyrdosteam was picking up all kinds of dirt. And I love seeing the steam come out from the carpet. It makes me feel like the carpet is cleaner of both dirt and germs. The Hydrosteam was able to pull up a lot of the water too, so the drying process was very quick. I will say, I struggled a little bit with the wand and hose, but am sure with a little more practice I’ll have that down pat. It come with a lot of attachments, and I’m already planning my next cleaning job: the carpet in the cars.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am extremely impressed with this carpet cleaner. I live in a home that is mostly hardwood floors with rugs. We have two toddlers and a dog. We vacuum frequently and I thought we were pretty clean! Enter the carpet cleaner. From unboxing, it is an impressive machine. It is very sturdily built and simple to put together. It comes with two different shampoo solutions to trial; one general purpose and one geared toward pet stains. Operation is very intuitive and straightforward. I cleaned two large rugs in my testing: An 8 x 10 area rug in the living room and a 7 ft runner in the kitchen. Both are in VERY high traffic spots but didn't look obviously dirty to me. A few passes of this machine proved me wrong. I could immediately tell it was working. The machine very quickly generates powerful steam and the rotating brush really works the shampoo solution deep into the carpet. The machine then thoroughly extracts all the gunk. The result was a canister full of dark brown waste water. Yuck!! A few hours later, my rugs were dry and ready for use again. This carpet cleaner will definitely work its way into my regular cleaning routine.

Powerful clean

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Bissell Revolution HydroSteam is an absolute beast of a carpet cleaner. While it’s a fairly large upright machine, it’s actually more compact and lighter than many other steam cleaners I’ve used, yet it still delivers the kind of deep-cleaning power you’d expect from an industrial machine.
The setup is straightforward. There’s a clean water tank where you add warm water and the included cleaning formulas (mine came with two bottles—one for general cleaning and another specifically for pet urine). Then there’s a separate large tank for dirty water, for seeing just how much grime it’s pulling out of the carpet.
One thing I really appreciate is how quickly the steam is ready. After turning the machine on, the steam function is ready in about 40 seconds.
The machine has multiple cleaning modes. The first mode is Steam Pretreat, where you can release steam without engaging the brush roll. This is great for loosening stubborn stains before doing a deeper clean. After pretreating, you can switch to SteamWash mode, where the motor brush and the vacuum engages. When you pull the trigger in this mode, it releases steam along with water and cleaning formula, to really give stains a deep clean.
I first tested it on a stubborn cat pee stain on a rug that I had tried to clean multiple times with other products. Those treatments always left a noticeable color difference. With this machine on SteamWash mode, I slowly worked the area back and forth about ten times while holding the trigger—and I literally watched the stain disappear. I was genuinely amazed. I'm also glad that the steam is used to sanitize the pet urine. It's not just about cleaning a mess from being visible on carpet, I want to make sure that germs are wiped out.
Next, I tried it on some old slime that had been stuck deep in the rug fibers. My previous attempts to remove it had already left the area discolored, and some of the slime was still visibly stuck in the carpet. Again, using SteamWash and working the area back and forth, the remaining slime started to break down and disappear. After a few passes, I was able to get all of it out!
The hand tool attachment is another great feature. It’s perfect for upholstery, smaller stains, or areas where the large floor roller obviously can’t reach. The machine also includes a self-cleaning setup using the hand tool, which is a really thoughtful addition.
Like any carpet cleaner, there’s some routine maintenance required. You’ll want to empty and clean the dirty water tank, rinse off the tray that catches debris and hair, and occasionally wipe down the brush roll chamber to keep everything in good condition. It’s a small tradeoff considering how powerful the cleaning performance is.
Overall, I’m extremely pleased with this machine. It does take up a bit of storage space, but if you have pets or kids this cleaner is absolutely worth it. It’s powerful, effective, and I know it's going to make tackling future messes much easier.

Love the steam cleaning aspect

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love steam cleaning my home but I’ve only been able to do that with a manual stick steam cleaner on wooden floors. I like that this vacuum allows me to clean my carpets much faster than my small handheld, which took forever to clean a small space. The fact that it vacuums and cleans with a single machine has cut down on hauling multiple cleaners to get the job done. It’s straightforward to set up and use and comes with cleaning solutions. It has a large capacity tank so I can do plenty in one fill. The size is a little bulky so maneuvering it isn’t super smooth. The steam aspect of this makes it more efficient at cleaning messes the kids make and I don’t have to scrub as much. Overall this is doing a much better job at cleaning the carpeted areas of the house compared to my previous products.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Never looking at dirty carpet again

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It has been many years since I used a carpet cleaner, and I was never that impressed. However, after using the Bissell Revolution HydroSteam, I am now hooked on carpet cleaning with my Bissell! In my home, I have a hard working husband, outdoorsy toddlers, dogs, chickens, and a cat. Everything touches my floors.
To start, you have to heat up the machine, and that only takes seconds. By the time I locked my animals outside, it was ready. Next, I started working with the machine. I immediately noticed that, unlike my old machine, this Bissell really suctioned down on the carpet. This was well appreciated as I pulled the machine back to vacuum up the cleanser. I felt that the carpet was really being sucked clean and was also being dried well. With only a couple passes, my carpet looked amazingly vibrant, and my whole house started to smell refreshed. I was shocked by how dirty the water was when it was sucked up. I am confident that the HydroSteam technology was a big part of truly getting as much dirt out of the rug. I feel like I didn't need to use as much water on my carpet because the steam could break up the messes so well. Besides being cleaner, the carpet was visibly fluffier as well, it truly looked like I had brand new carpet again. And, thanks to this machine, my carpet was the driest I have ever felt after cleaning. I cleaned the carpet in evening, and when I woke up it was completely dry!
Even with strong suction, this Bissell was simple to use, and I did not become fatigued because the whole unit is so light and is easily maneuvered. This Bissell is truly a beast because by attaching the hose system, I could also switch to cleaning my couch and upholstered chairs. And, when I was done I could very easily take the machine apart to clean, and allow it to air dry. Cleaning the unit was just as easy as cleaning my carpets, and I like that it will be clean and ready whenever I am ready to deep clean again.
I am truly in love with this machine because I feel like it not only makes my home look cleaner, but I feel confident everything was cleaned correctly and it will be safe for my family. I cannot say enough good things about this machine, and I have already recommended it to my entire family.

Clean and Powerful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Bissell Revolution is a powerhouse of cleaning power. The unboxing and assembly was very easy and came together in minutes. It even came with cleaning solutions to try. We were very eager to give it a try so we tackled a dirty entry rug that we always struggle to keep clean. We had a mix of dog hair, sand, dirt, mud and small rocks. A vacuum would typically get some of the small stuff but the rug never really looked clean. We laid on the cleaning solution and started letting the Revolution Hydrosteam go to work. After our first small pass much of the mess had been taken care of with ease. Lots of Steam loosened much of the mud and stains. The very powerful suction proceeded to remove the mud stains and rollers tackled the dog hair. Watching the suction pull the dirt and stains out of that entry rug was quite satisfying.
So happy with the cleaning of the entry rug. We then decided to try to pull stains out of our kitchen chairs. Food stains, marker and some dried playdough. This was a great chance to use some of the cleaning attachments with the hose. We laid the cleaner and using the brush with some light scrubbing seemed to really clean them up. The powerful suction lifted the stains and dried playdough like it was nothing. Our used kitchen chairs ended up looking almost new.
After completing the cleaning of the entry mat and the kitchen chairs. We used the self-cleaning which was very easy and left the unit ready to go for the next cleaning. The Unit was very easy to empty and clean. Even the dog hair on the rollers came off with ease.
In Conclusion we had a great first experience with the Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam. It well exceeded our expectations with the tremendous power and great clean. I would highly recommend this unit for anyone looking to clean those pesky rugs, carpets and cloths. Pet hair and messy problems will be a thing of the past.

Powerful cleaning and great steaming feature

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam is everything I need and more! It has all the features I am looking for when it comes to vacuum cleaner. It is a no brainer when it comes to assembling it. Easy peasy! I like that it has an option for a cleaning mode and additional hose and attachments. The steaming feature works well and it really does the job and you can literally see the grime and dirt being sunction so you know it really does it’s job! It is so easy to clean the attachments and brush rolls. I would definitely recommend it to a friend! It is a must-have! Great product!
