Great home cleaner

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, I was very impressed with the cleaning power of this machine. I was shocked by how much dirt it pulled up from our carpets. Seeing the dirty water afterward made it clear that it was doing a very thorough job.
It also handled sticky, stuck-on messes very well. Some spots required a couple of passes, but the results were worth it. Areas that had noticeable stains on our carpet completely disappeared after cleaning, which was really satisfying to see.
I especially appreciated the steam power function and the fact that it uses real steam. It felt like an added layer of deep cleaning and disinfecting, which gave me more confidence that surfaces were not just looking clean but truly sanitized.
The self-cleaning cycle was another highlight. It was very easy to use, and I liked that all of the parts could be easily removed afterward. Being able to leave them open to air dry makes long-term storage much simpler and helps keep the machine fresh.
This cleaner feels well worth the price. The larger size, stronger power, and overall ability to clean make it a much more effective option for bigger jobs around the house compared to sprays or smaller cleaners. Overall, it’s a powerful, convenient machine that did an excellent job tackling our carpets.

The deep clean you need

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve used a few carpet cleaners over the years, but the Bissell Revolution HydroSteam really stood out in terms of cleaning power. The first time I used it I could immediately see the difference in the carpet. It pulled up a lot of dirt that I didn’t even realize was still in there, and the carpet looked brighter afterward.
One thing I really liked was how well it handled sticky spots and older messes. Normally those take several passes, but using the steam pretreat seemed to loosen them up so they came out much easier. It was especially helpful in areas that get a lot of foot traffic.
The steam feature is probably my favorite part of the machine. Knowing it’s actually using real steam made it feel like it was doing a deeper clean, and it seemed to help break down stains before the brushes even got to them.
The self-cleaning cycle was also a nice touch. It was really simple to run and saved me from having to take everything apart to rinse it out. Overall, it made cleanup after using the machine quick and easy.
Overall, I’d say this cleaner is powerful, easy to use, and has a few features that make it feel like a step up from most standard carpet cleaners.

Highly Effective on the toughest stains

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Bissel Carpet cleaner is a tank. I will not deny how heavy it is when filled, especially if you have a full tank and need to carry it up to the second floor, but its effectiveness makes it all worth it. I had a lot of carpet stains that have have been there for longer than I care to mention and this carpet cleaner got everything out. For a few of the stubborn ones I did need to go back and forth a few times, but between the steam and the solution, they all came out. I attached some pictures showing some blue stains that were removed fairly easily (no clue what they were from). I used this cleaner on my dog’s vomit and it was cleaned up after a few passes.
This carpet cleaner will also tell you how dirty your carpets are in many ways. We were redoing my girls’ bedroom, so we had everything off the carpet including the beds. We vacuumed a few times prior to using the carpet cleaner on the entire room. I noticed that sometimes when I would move the carpet cleaner back and forth, it would leave a wet lint trail. I took that as I needed to vacuum more, so I stopped cleaning and switched back to vacuum and that did the trick!
The steam feature is incredible and I can tell how that really helps remove all the stubborn stains. Downside is I would love to use this on my heavily used stairs, but since the machine is a bit wide, I can’t use it on my stairs, so I would have to use the wand and the wand does not have the steam feature.
It is large like a standing vacuum, so you will want to make sure you have an accessible place to store this.
The drying time of the carpet ranged on how many passes I needed to do on the stains. For larger areas it took longer, but for the small areas/spot treatments it took about 2 hours. I saw a recommendation to push down the cleaner head while over the spot to help it absorb more liquid, but I didn’t find that necessary since the carpet was damp, but not soaked.
Overall I highly recommend this carpet cleaner if you usually have a lot of stains to clean and you want to save your back and arms from the bending over and scrubbing. It is highly effective on getting out stubborn stains on a small and large scale and can replace the need for multiple stain removing devices. If you have this in a handy location, there is never a need to hand scrub stains out when you can just use this.

Great cleaning tool for homes with pets
on March 12, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have two dogs and two young children; our home has rugs, hardwood floors, and carpet. Messes are a fact of our daily life. Every carpet cleaner I've tried previously may clean well but is a nightmare to maintain afterwards. The Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam is WAY easier to maintain and clean after use than any other carpet cleaner I've tried previously.
I tried using it on a weird orange-red spot (goodness knows what it was) on our brand new rug; it removed the spot really well. I did notice that it seemed to leave a bit more dampness after multiple passes then I would like, but the orange-red spot is almost entirely gone. The steam power was fantastic! I do wish that the machine picked up a bit more of the water that it put down but it's nothing excessive, and it's in line with the drying function I have experienced with other machines.
Not only was the self-cleaning cycle easy to use, but the entire machine is very easily cleanable. The front of the carpet cleaner's head disassembles and all of the detritus picked up by the cleaner can be scooped right out with the included tool. None of the pet hair or debris that our cleaner picked up went into the dirty water tank and it didn't clog the machine. The tool they give you to clear any pet hair from the machine is plenty long, too, so it's easy to get all of the junk out. I'm really happy with this carpet cleaner!

Awesome Carpet Cleaner

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam is truly an incredible carpet cleaner. As a mom of four kiddos, a dog, and plenty of bonus kids running through the house, I need something that can keep up with real-life messes—and this machine absolutely delivers. Its cleaning power outperforms every carpet cleaner I’ve used before.
The design is sleek and modern, and the suction power is outstanding, making even big messes feel manageable. The Hydrosteam feature is a game changer for sticky spills and refreshing area rugs. I love using steam in my home because it helps me keep things cleaner and safer for my family.
One of my favorite features is the self-cleaning function. As a busy mom, having one less thing to scrub out before putting the machine away is a huge win. It’s especially helpful when you’re tackling a quick mess and need to move on to the next task without slowing down.
Overall, the Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam has made a noticeable difference in how clean my carpets look and feel. It’s powerful, easy to use, and genuinely helpful for a busy household.

Such an upgrade

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow! The Bissell Hydrosteam is truly impressive! I've used a lot of upright and handheld carpet / upholstery cleaners and this one outperforms all of them. I LOVE the steam feature. I was able to presteam areas of my sons' bedroom rug that had slime smashed into the carpet and it came right out after. The clean water / soap container and the dirty water container are both a great size. They hold a lot without being overly bulky or hard to carry. On the regular cleaning function, this machine was able to make my area rugs look fresh and bright. The handheld attachment lets me use it on my couches and for spot treating and it works great. Best of all, it is a breeze to clean this machine. The containers have wide openings to empty them that also allow them to dry quickly. The front panel over the roller brush also pops off easily to clean lint and dirt out easily. And the handheld attachment has a self-cleaning mode to get all the lint and dirt out of the brush head. I love that this machine, which is the same size as my previous upright carpet cleaner, actually replaces 2 machines because of the handheld attachment. Plus it has the steam feature which is an amazing upgrade that makes it even more effective.

Bissell doesnt disappoint
on March 12, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For context, we have two boys and a girl (ages 8, 5, and 2) plus an elderly coonhound. Our dog sheds like crazy and sometimes pees on the carpeted floor in her sleep. We purchased a Bissell pet carpet cleaner that was on the basic end but it was reliable for cleaning up most of the messes we had to deal with.. until the kids tracked something sticky on the carpeted stairs and coffee got spilled on our light gray couch and a bunch of other things we realized our basic carpet cleaner was not going to be able to clean. Enter: Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam
So many upgrades on this version! The steam pre treat feature is super helpful for those sticky messes. The one I mentioned about the stairs that ended up drying into a hard clump? Yeah, I awkwardly held the full machine on the steps to use the steam feature (the nozzle attachment doesnt do the steam) and it was so worth it! After I steam treated, I used the nozzle attachment and bam, the sticky stuff was gone! I tried everything short of cutting the stuff out of the rug and this machine did it in 15 minutes. With that success, I got to work on the year old coffee stain on my couch. I attached before and after photos of that. I think it did pretty well considering I had no expectations for a set-in stain like that. The nozzle attachment is super helpful and I see myself using it in the near future on other messes. A great feature on the attachment is the self clean option that was really easy to work. I will say, that my dogs fur clogged the sprayer on the nozzle so toward the end of cleaning all my stair landings, the spray was not working. I vacuumed the stairs first, but my dogs fur really works into carpet. What ended up fixing the issue was disassembling the hose attachment and fully cleaning it by running a water stream through the hose to flush all the fur out. (After the fact, I realized what the gray stick was for - there is a nozzle clean out tool included!)
The other feature I liked was how easy it was to clean. If you have a carpet cleaner, you know they are usually super annoying to clean. This one isn't! The front cover comes off and its very easy to clean every spot and put right back unlike other machines that have nooks and crannies that you have to use a screwdriver to undo and fully clean then let air dry before reassembling. Plus, the dirty water tank has a lid that fully comes off for easier cleaning! I can reach my hand in and get all the dirt and grime out of the tank unlike my other Bissell. Shout out to the clean water tank as well for having a larger opening that makes air drying faster than my other version! No more waiting around for all the parts to dry before storing away.
Looking forward to not stressing at every spill, mess, or tracked in muddy paw print thanks to this Bissell!
TLDR: if you have kids or a dog, get this one. Steam pretreat, self cleaning nozzle attachment, easy clean features. It will make your life easier.. just get it!

Practical and Effective
on March 12, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Assembly was quick and easy, and the instructions were clear and easy to follow throughout. Be sure to vacuum thoroughly beforehand with your regular vacuum before washing the carpet. The Bissell machine comes with an upholstery tool and hand cleaner that are useful for furniture and tighter spots where the main unit can’t reach, and both work well for stubborn stains that need a bit more focused attention. The self-cleaning cycle is also a nice feature. It’s specifically for the hose and wand extension, but that makes sense since there isn’t really another practical way to clean that part well. You just run it through the cycle and it handles it for you.
The cleaning power has been solid. I used it on a short pile carpet with some set-in stains I wasn’t confident would come out, and it handled them without much effort on my part. One thing I appreciated was that the carpets didn’t feel drenched afterward, which is a common complaint with carpet cleaners in general. Drying time was reasonable.
The steam function is what sets it apart from a standard carpet cleaner. It uses real steam, and you can tell the difference when it comes to breaking down stuck-on messes rather than just pushing them around. So far this machine has done everything I’ve needed it to do and I haven’t run into any issues.
