Steam Cleaning Machine
on March 12, 2026
Posted by: Hydrosteam
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam is a must-have device for any household that has pets or children. This has powered through vomit, honey/syrup, mud, milk, and pet urine on medium pile and foam carpeting without a problem. The steam and suction on this device combined makes for a powerful cleaning product and the cleaning solution does not have a strong chemical scent it actually smells like fresh laundry in my opinion.
Overall Performance & Suction
The suction on this device is incredibly strong. I’ve used a few different cleaners, but this one actually feels like it’s pulling everything out of the fibers. It worked great on my medium pile carpet, and I was actually surprised at how well it handled a 2-inch thick foam carpet it didn't struggle with the depth at all. I was expecting to have to towel dry the spot once cleaning was completed but it was almost completely dry after just a few passes with the vacuum.
Cleaning Power (The Red Wine Test) The real test was a red wine spill, blame my wife, and it tackled it like a champ. I looked closely at the spot after cleaning it with the provided solution and hot water and it did not have even a hint of red on medium pile carpet. It also handled pet urine without any issues removing the smell and scent completely. I used both cleaning solutions provided, one focused primarily on pet urine and the other for generic carpet cleaning and to be honest, I didn't notice a discernable difference between the two—they both worked equally well on pet urine and sticky syrup. A huge plus, as mentioned previously, is that the solution smells "fresh" and natural; you don’t get that hit of a strong, gross chemical smell while you’re cleaning. The device sucks so much of the solution out that it doesn’t linger in the room after you are done cleaning which is very much appreciated by my sensitive nose.
Steam Function The "real steam" aspect is a total game-changer. I love that the device creates steam so quickly—it takes less than a minute to get going. The directions claim 35 seconds and that seems to be accurate. You can definitely tell the steam helps break down the mess faster than just using hot water alone. Note the wand does not create steam by itself only when using the vacuum feature.
The Self-Cleaning Feature The self-cleaning cycle on the attached want is a convenience I I did not know I needed in my life until now. Honestly, it should be a must-have feature on all devices. Previously, I’d have to manually clean out the hoses by sucking up clean water from a bowl, which was a project in itself. This built-in feature saves so much time and prevents a second mess from happening while you’re trying to clean up the first one. It’s super easy to use and makes the post-cleaning teardown way less of a headache.
Overall I would highly recommend this product and the steam cleaning feature is not a gimmick, it really helps expedite the cleaning process and powers through sticky/nasty messes without a problem. Clean up is a breeze with the self cleaning feature and the easy disassembly of the vacuum itself. After using a handheld carpet cleaner and now this steam cleaning beast I would highly recommend this steam cleaner for great cleaning power. I found it light enough to move up and down stairs without any difficulty and stored easily in a closet.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great for homes with kids pets and messes
on March 12, 2026
Posted by: Alex
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently tried the Bissell Revolution HydroSteam carpet cleaner and overall I’m really happy with how it performed in my home. With 3 kids, 2 dogs, and 2 cats, my carpets get a ton of traffic and plenty of messes, so I need something that can really handle everyday life.
My favorite feature is definitely the steam function. The steam really helped loosen up tough, stuck-on stains that usually take a lot of scrubbing. I noticed a big difference when cleaning areas that had older spots or heavier dirt. It made those areas much easier to clean and the carpets looked noticeably fresher afterward.
I also really like the extra features that come with it. The hose and attachments are great for cleaning stairs, furniture, and other areas that are harder to reach with the main cleaner. Having those tools made it much easier to tackle different spots around the house without needing another machine.
Overall, I feel like it did a great job cleaning and refreshing my carpets, especially considering how much use they get every day in my house. The only downside for me is that I wish the suction was a little stronger to pull up more of the water and help the carpets dry a bit faster.
That said, between the steam feature, the helpful attachments, and the overall cleaning power, it’s been a really useful addition to keeping up with all the messes that come with a busy house
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam Review
on March 12, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great carpet cleaner! The steam function worked well to pick up stuck-on toddler-created messes including- vomit, play-dough, marker, crayon, blood, spit up, and potty training accidents. It also did a fantastic job cleaning cloth chairs that go with our kitchen table. All food stains that those chairs had accumulated over the past 4 years were completely removed by this product!
I loved that it uses real steam to lift the stuck on messes and felt that it was giving my floors, carpets, cloth chairs and recliners a total reboot making them look good as new. The self cleaning cycle was very easy to use and saved lots of time and effort at the end of the cleaning process. The instruction manual was clear, easy to follow and included lots of helpful diagrams.
It was very satisfying to see the dirty water tank as you are cleaning. Getting a visual of all the stuck on dirt motivated me to want to use the product more. It also confirmed my distrust of rented products of this nature. I would not want to use the same machine on my own floors that another person had in their home.
The only mildly difficult step was reassembling the filter after cleaning the machine, but a Youtube search on how to cleared up the confusion and after doing it once, I will know how to reinstall it again.

This vacuum has changed my life
on March 12, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I may be officially getting old, but being able to steam clean my carpets has brought me a borderline ridiculous amount of joy over the last few weeks. This vacuum is absolutely AWESOME! I have two young kids and a dog, and let me tell you, ignorance was bliss. I genuinely didn't realize how filthy my carpets were until I got my hands on this amazing machine.
When it comes to the overall cleaning power, I was completely blown away. Even on rugs that didn't look awful to the naked eye, the sheer amount of dirt picked up by this thing was incredible (and honestly, a little terrifying). I had one old carpet that I thought was totally beyond repair and destined for the dumpster. While it’s not 100% perfect now, it looks SO much better and has a completely new lease on life.
It handled sticky syrup stains, pet urine, and other mystery stains like an absolute champ. A huge part of that success comes down to the steam power function. I truly appreciated that it uses real steam rather than just hot water. It worked wonders to clean and sanitize my rugs, and I loved how I could specifically target the absolute worst kid and dog messes and watch them melt away.
Finally, as a busy parent, convenience is key. Straight out of the box, the vacuum was very easy to put together and figure out. I also couldn't be happier with how easy it was to clean. After pulling up all that dirt and pet mess, not having to work even harder to clean the machine is the ultimate luxury.
If you have kids, pets, or just want the satisfaction of a truly clean home, you need this! 10/10 recommend.

Great versatile carpet cleaner
on March 12, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a mother of two toddlers, two dogs, and two cats, messes are a constant in my house. Everything seems to come in twos here—including the accidents! The Bissell Revolution HydroSteam Carpet Cleaner has become an essential cleaning tool for my home. Since owning it, I’ve cleaned up a tea spill, multiple dog accidents, a high-traffic hallway, and our playroom. I feel like I’ve tested nearly every feature this machine offers.
High-Traffic Hallway and Play Area
I started in our playroom using the Steam Pretreat mode on a mystery sticky area (juice? glue? we have no idea!). At first, the pretreat mode didn’t completely remove the stickiness. However, it seemed to loosen the mess, because when I immediately followed up with SteamWash Max mode, the spot came right out. Goodbye, mystery sticky spot!
The rest of the playroom has older carpet with a beige-and-black mix that already looks a little worn. After cleaning the entire room with the HydroWash Max setting, I noticed a big improvement. The room smelled fresher, and my kids even seemed to sneeze less. I was very happy with the results.
The high-traffic hallway was the real test. Our family wears black socks a lot, so you could clearly see the traffic pattern on our white carpet. The carpet isn’t new, so I wasn’t expecting perfection—just a cleaner look.
While cleaning, I was honestly amazed watching the dirty water being suctioned out of the carpet. Seeing all that grime in the tank was incredibly satisfying. The hallway ended up smelling fresh, and the black trail was completely gone. I was thrilled with the results and feel confident I could refresh all the carpeted bedrooms in the house when I have the time.
Spot Cleaning
I also used the brush attachment on my white carpeted stairs after spilling bright green matcha tea and dealing with a dog urine accident.
Attaching the hose was very easy, and it was long enough to reach the top of the staircase in my split-level home. The extra-long hose meant I didn’t have to move the heavy machine, which was a huge plus.
I sprayed the areas with the nozzle and let the solution sit for a few minutes before lightly scrubbing. Then I turned on the machine and suctioned up the stains.
-The dog urine came out immediately.
-The matcha tea stain needed a second round of treating, scrubbing, and suctioning, but it came out very clean.
Overall, I was very pleased with how easy and effective the process was.
Cleaning the Machine
Cleaning the machine itself is actually one of its best features.
Emptying the dirty water tank is straightforward, just like with most carpet cleaners. What stood out to me was the red filter below the tank, which can be easily wiped clean with a rag. With two dogs and two cats, you can imagine the amount of hair it collects—even after vacuuming beforehand.
The brush head also pops out easily, can be rinsed in the sink, and snaps right back into place. After spending so much energy cleaning, the last thing I want is a complicated machine cleanup. These thoughtful features make the process quick and manageable.
Honestly, this convenience alone makes the Bissell worth it.

Best carpet cleaner
on March 12, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was extremely impressed with the overall cleaning power of the Bissell Revolution HydroSteam. It did an incredible job lifting dirt and stains from my carpets and left them looking noticeably cleaner and refreshed. Even areas that get a lot of foot traffic looked brighter after just one pass.
It also handled sticky and stuck-on messes much better than I expected. I tried it on a few tougher spots and it broke them up and removed them with ease. The combination of the cleaning solution and strong suction really helped pull the mess right out of the carpet fibers.
The steam power feature is one of my favorite parts of this machine. I really appreciate that it uses real steam because it helps loosen dirt and grime much more effectively. It made deep cleaning feel much more thorough and helped tackle stains that normally take multiple attempts.
The self-cleaning cycle is another feature I loved. It was extremely easy to use and made cleaning the machine afterward simple and hassle-free. Instead of spending extra time trying to rinse everything out myself, the machine basically takes care of it.
Overall, I absolutely love the Bissell Revolution HydroSteam. It’s powerful, easy to use, and makes deep cleaning carpets so much easier. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable carpet cleaner that delivers great results.

Impressive Carpet Cleaning and Easy Self Cleaning
on March 12, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been really impressed with the Bissell Revolution HydroSteam. The overall cleaning power is strong, and it made a noticeable difference on my carpets after the first use. Areas that usually look dull or slightly dingy looked refreshed and much cleaner once they dried.
One thing that stood out was how well it handled sticky or stuck-on messes. I tested it on a few spots that had been lingering for a while, and the combination of steam and scrubbing power helped loosen the grime much faster than I expected. I didn’t have to go over the same area repeatedly, which saved time.
The steam power feature is a great addition. Knowing that it uses real steam made it feel like it was doing a deeper clean compared to standard carpet cleaners. It helped break down tougher messes and gave me more confidence that my carpets were truly being cleaned.
Another feature I appreciated was the self-cleaning cycle. It was very easy to run and made cleanup after using the machine much simpler. Instead of worrying about residue or buildup inside the unit, the process quickly flushes everything out, which helps keep the machine ready for the next use.
Overall, the Bissell Revolution HydroSteam feels powerful, easy to use, and thoughtfully designed. It’s a great option if you want a carpet cleaner that can handle everyday messes as well as tougher spots.

Works Okay Very Bulky
on March 12, 2026
Posted by: ErinJeannine
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very excited to try the Revolution Hydrosteam, with three kids, a parrot, and a cat. I tried it on bird poop on a rug, kid vomit on a couch, and what I assume was once a lollipop on LVP flooring. Overall, it was helpful, although it is a lot to lug around.
I liked that I could just use steam on the hard floor/lollipop situation, and it did help me get it cleaned up fast. However, I probably could have just scraped it up with a little water on a rag in the time it took to bring the machine into the kitchen, and it felt like a lot of work to get up a small sticky mess.
I also used it for bird poop on a black and cream rug. You can see in the before and after pics below that it didn't make a ton of difference, and that's with a steam pre-treat. The machine, on the clean/steam setting, releases a LOT more water than I anticipated, and it took a long time to stop sucking up water when I was done with the cleaner. I also inadvertently created a puddle that came out from under the rug, and then I had to prop the rug up to let air circulate underneath so it will dry. Luckily, I did that before using it on my couch, so I didn't use as much water there. I would hesitate to use it on carpet, where you wouldn't be able to get air circulating in order for it to dry completely.
The vomit on the couch was no longer a stain, but still had an odor, and it seems to have eliminated that, although I could have potentially done that just with the enzymatic cleaner and not the machine, and cut the "don't sit on the couch" dry time significantly.
I ran the self-cleaning feature just to try it, which was easy to do, although there was nothing stuck in the machine so I don't know how well it works.
Overall, I think it's very bulky for just a steam cleaner, and my recommendation would be to just buy a smaller handheld option that would store smaller and be more portable, unless you find yourself using a steam cleaner on a very regular (daily) basis or over very large areas.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
