A Must Have for Dogs and Toddlers

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a dog that sheds a lot. I also have two toddlers. So, my carpets and rugs get pretty nasty. I don’t think I realized how yucky they were until after cleaning them with this. The Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam helped me clean up dirt, dog hair, accidents from the dog, spills, and even things like stuck on fruit snacks. I also used it on my stairs and couches. I liked how easy it was to use this and I like the look of it as well. I would definitely recommend it.

Carpet Cleaner for Mid Level Jobs

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Bissell Revolution HydroSteam as part of a Stellar Product Panel. The unit was easy to setup and worked great for mid-level messes. The unit uses one tank for both solution and water so there isn't an extra "rinse" function like other units I've seen out there. While this may seem convenient, it did seem to leave a residue on the carpet. The unit also held less capacity than other cleaners I've used in the past and didn't get deep into the carpet for those extra colorful messes the kids leave behind. Still, I would possibly recommend this unit if you're looking for a simple solution for regular carpet or rug cleaning. It's relatively light weight and easy enough that I was about to cover a lot of ground quickly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A Game Changer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Using the Bissell HydroSteam has completely transformed my cleaning routine. From the first use, I noticed how much faster and more efficient it made deep cleaning feel. It glides smoothly, the controls are intuitive, and the overall design is sleek and modern—definitely a step up from bulkier carpet cleaners I’ve used in the past. It’s easy to store, and I actually don’t dread pulling it out for quick or deep cleans.
The HydroSteam Technology really impressed me, especially when dealing with sticky spills and ground-in messes on carpets and area rugs. I used it on a dried juice stain and some tracked-in mud from the dog—both were gone with minimal effort. The steam function seems to loosen and lift grime that would normally require a lot of scrubbing, which made cleaning feel less labor-intensive.
One standout feature for me was the built-in Pretreater. Being able to spot-treat tough stains right before deep cleaning saved time and helped prevent me from having to go over areas repeatedly. I used it on an old coffee stain and some pet messes, and it worked surprisingly well—almost like giving each stain a targeted boost before the main cleaning.
The 2-in-1 self-cleaning tool was a game changer for above-floor cleaning. It made tackling stairs, couch cushions, and even the dog’s bed much more convenient. I liked that it was all integrated—no switching between tools or lugging around separate attachments. And the self-cleaning function meant I wasn’t left with a mess after cleaning, which is a big win.
Overall, the Bissell HydroSteam made my cleaning routine more thorough and efficient without adding complexity. It’s a smart, powerful tool that handles real-life messes with ease.

Great for Deep Cleans But Too Heavy for Everyday

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really impressed with how well this cleaned our rugs. My toddler dropped a pink marker, which my dog then chewed and smeared all over our beige dining room rug. The steam attachment got it out, and I think the pretreater helped too. I finished the job with the larger steam vacuum, and honestly, the rug looked brand new.
I loved the attachment tool — it made it so much easier to clean our couch, which my dog basically lives on. The wheels on the machine also make it easier to move around, which is nice given the weight. And the water tanks are one of my favorite parts: super easy to fill and clean, with a one-click in and out design and just two pieces to deal with. We had a different cleaner before, and the dirty water filter was such a pain — this is way more user-friendly.
That said, it is heavy. I’m not dragging it out weekly — maybe once a season or for big messes. It also goes through water fast, and I found it a bit tricky moving from one rug to another without getting steam on our hardwood floors. One small annoyance: the clear top cover kept popping off when it bumped into walls or rug edges.
All in all, it’s great to have for bigger cleanups, but probably not something you’ll use on the regular. If you’ve got a lot of rugs, kids, or pets, it’s a solid backup to keep in the closet for when things get messy.

Quick cleaning for rugs and upholstery

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have area rugs throughout the house that had seen quite a bit of foot traffic and pets playing around on them. My cream colored area rug needed all the help it could get especially after years of a small dog rubbing all over it. After using the steam cleaner, my rug is back to its normal shade and the spots are virtually nonexistent. The setup was easy and intuitive. I think letting the pretreater sit made a big difference in the time it took to fully clean the rug. The steamer comes with attachments to tackle upholstery and other cloth-covered items. I set my cloth ottoman up on a small stool for cleaning and it is also refreshed and like new. This cleaner is the best of both worlds in an easy to use appliance.

Best Carpet Cleaner for DIY Homeowners

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great upright carpet cleaner! As a parent to young children and pets we have struggled to keep our carpets looking pristine. In combination with the special pet formula, it quickly got my carpet noticeably cleaner without leaving it super wet. It is a larger machine but isn't too heavy to maneuver and doesn’t take up much more space then a regular vacuum.
I am impressed with the suction, this got so much up without a problem. It was able to get enough of the water up and out of the carpet that it didn’t leave a lingering damp smell.
Cleaning the machine up when finished using it does not take very long. All the components are easy to access making cleaning easy.
If you have the space to store it, this is a must have for people with indoor pets and small children. I would highly recommend.

Built To Battle Deep Set In Messes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Bissell Revolution HydroSteam is an all-around dirt and grime destroyer. Set up was a snap, and the black and copper colors give it a classic sleek look. I was amazed at its ability to deep clean my carpets and lift set in stains that I had all but given up on. My bathroom is half carpet with years of makeup, hair product, and grime throughout. I used the pretreat steam feature on the worst areas to soften and prep for the steamwash max clean mode. I loved the tip the instruction manual suggested of passing over the area using "dry passes" to remove excess moisture and decrease the dry time. I also used the 2-in-1 self-cleaning tool with the rubberized block for my carpeted stairs. It was able to fit in any tight spaces and was able to work out stubborn dog hair and dirt. With cleaners in the past, I have had to take apart the hose and cleaning attachment to rinse after use, but the self-cleaning feature took care of any hassle. With just a flip of the switch it rinsed and was set for the next use. Overall, I would recommend this as a top choice for everyone to have in their home for any type of carpet or upholstery cleaning.

The set up was a breeze; quick and easy installation! I appreciate both the look and design. It doesn't seem as big and bulky as other machines I have used in the past and easier to maneuver than others. Not only did it tackle new messes and stains, but it also got rid of old stains that we have had in our carpet for quite some time. The built-in pretreat feature is a game changer! It definitely made such a difference when cleaning those hard to get spots. I would 100% recommend this product to anyone.
