[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far so good. It replaces a very old unit that died on me. This machine operates smoothly and looks and feels less clunky. Very quiet. I have not yet experienced a major heatwave but have faith this will do the trick. Excited about the inverter technology!

Runs great for the time being

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far the temperature control and ECO settings work. I've only recently purchased and installed it. Its early October (Fall Season) so not in heavy use. I purchased it to replace a Midea recall. I have a 5 month old daughter that I'm not putting at risk with black mold. This model should be much easier to clean if needed--fingers crossed. A little under 2 weeks at the moment and it's been working great. Honestly, I wish the review could be a year from now when I really put it into action through the summer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This window AC replaced a very old AC in my sunroom … can’t believe the difference … it’s doing a wonderful job … and so quiet … I only wish the instructions were a little bit clearer for my 80 year old mind to absorb!

8000 BTU Inverter model

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to replace a recalled Midea "U" model and I like the fact that it works with the allergen filter and is not a "U" shape so it will also be easier to totally disassemble for thorough cleaning, if it is ever needed. The Midea was nearly impossible to work on (disassemble) and the indoor blower fan was caked in mold that's nearly impossible to clean without a total disassembly. The only downside to the Whirlpool is the requirement to download the app to use the 'quiet' fan speed and the flammable R32. The optional allergen filter really sold this model for me because it will really help keep the cold side internals clean considerably longer, as well as the health benefits.
