Love This Smart Lock!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Yale Smart Lock has been such a game changer for us. It’s super sturdy, feels high quality, and looks sleek on our door. I love that it works with Matter, so it connects easily with our smart home setup. The installation was way easier than I thought it would be, and I really like not having to worry about carrying keys—just a quick code or app unlock and I’m in. It gives me peace of mind knowing our home is secure, and it’s so convenient for when my hands are full with groceries or the baby. Definitely recommend if you’re looking to upgrade your door lock!

I really like the lock. It's easy to use. The only small flaws is locking the door isn't intuitive you have you learn to hit the Yale button. The other thing is you can't buy 2-3 locks and have them all keyed the same. Those would be great improvements. Instillation was very easy.

Has potential once bugs fixed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the sleek design of this lock. The buttons are large and responsive. I tried connecting this to my Google Home prior to installing at my door and ran into nothing but difficulty, to the point the lock becomes a basic keypad entry lock, without any of the added benefits that should be included and that I was looking forward to. I will try this in another few months to see if connectivity and compatibility has improved, but at this point, despite saying it works with Google Home, it does not. I will update once I can get successfully connected.

We are very pleased with our Yale Smart Lock with Matter. From the very detailed installation instructions to how smooth the operation is with this lock, we are thrilled. It connects easily to our smart home system and can be controlled through Google Home. There are two drawbacks that have kept this from being a 5 star for me. 1. If I read correctly, this lock was supposed to identify the person that unlocked the door based on the code used. 2. This lock is supposed to be able to unlock automatically when specific people approach the door. Neither works in the Home app. It seems, from what I can see, that you need to use the Yale app specifically for these features to work. You can't use both Home and Yale at the same time for these features. That is not a winner in my book. I do not need another app that I have to access to control the device. All of my devices are accessible and controllable through the Home app. That is a shame as this is supposed to be the replacement for the Yale Nest lock that was dicontinued. I would still recommend it.

Now I can lock and unlock my door with just a voice command or a quick tap on the screen. Feels secure, works flawlessly, and makes coming home way more convenient. I’ve tried other locks that i’ve ordered from other companies and they have multiple flaws compared to this one.

Had some issues with setting it up through matter, which seems to be on my end. Once it was set up it worked great and looked great. Except one day it disconnected randomly and I had to reset my network to get it back. Not sure if it's the product or matter issues, but it's been a little challenging. Other than that, it's a good looking product and works pretty well.
