Great video quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have always had a ring camera but our latest one broke so I was so happy to get a Roku. I’m shocked at the video quality it was clear and easy to see even during night time . The battery on this is long lasting I haven’t had it long enough to speak on how long but online reviews make it seem like it’s a long time !

Disconnects randomly and doesn't alert

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been testing the Roku battery camera plus for for almost 2 weeks now. It's given me a lot of trouble. I've set this both inside by a Wi-Fi outlet and outside and it just can't seem to stay connected ever. About every other day the camera will randomly go offline and I will have to go reset it. I had put it in a window facing to where people drive up into my yard and not once did I get notified even though I had multiple packages delivered over multiple days. I even went outside and stood in the line of sight of the camera and it didn't go off. What I noticed is that I had to have the app open for me to even get a notification. It's in an area of strong Wi-Fi so I'm not really sure what the problem is. So far my opinion is that I can't really trust this camera to deliver prompt monitoring. Another thing I noticed is that it takes about 10 seconds to connect to the camera. I didn't set up any kind of filters or rules for the camera because I wanted it to record everything. I do like that you can set only a specific area for it to monitor.
Video quality wise it is good. I can definitely make out everything in the yard. I like the sound function and I like the speaker.
I really wish my experience with it had been better. I can see the potential and I'll definitely continue to move it in different places in my home to see if the connectivity is better or worse. Perhaps this camera needs godlike Wi-Fi for it to function properly so I give it a 2.5 out of 5 stars, rounded up to 3.

Awesome camera great quality

Setup was ridiculously fast—done in minutes via the Roku Smart Home app. The camera's performance is amazing; the 1080p HD video is crisp, and the color night vision is shocking!
The best part of the Plus version is the battery life—I barely have to think about charging it, which is the whole point of going wire-free.
But my favorite feature, hands down, is the seamless Roku integration, which makes it easy to view footage straight from my home.

You have to pay a subscription

I didn’t even mount it anywhere because I had such a hard time getting it to connect to my phone. I honestly don’t know how well the product works otherwise since I couldn’t get mine to work properly. It is also subscription based so be aware of that.

Solid camera with great features, but not perfect.

The video quality is crisp enough at 1080p and the color night vision is a nice touch for a camera in this price range. The durability is solid too—it’s weather resistant, so it feels reliable outdoors year-round. The battery life is one of its strongest selling points; Roku claims up to two years, and while real-world use depends on activity and weather, it does last a long time between charges. The connectivity on Wi-Fi 6 is good overall. As for performance, setup was easy and the app integrates well, though it’s more event-based recording than continuous. For the money, it’s a strong option and fits nicely into the Roku smart home ecosystem.

It’s not reliable!

Connectivity is spotty at times, especially during some severe weather. It does seem durable, but it’s so inconsistent in terms of how well it works that I wouldn’t rely on it. Maybe the ones that don’t work with batteries would have better performance.
