This captures Soundwave incredibly well in Lego form. And we get two additional Decepticons with the tapes. The tape deck opening feels exactly as it should. The leg engineering is brilliant, with the folding panels as the foot lowers. The head sculpt is spot on. It’s a wonderful set for G1 Transformer fans.
I got sound wave for myself and I thought this set is awesome. I built him. It was great, and then I tried to display him he stands up very straight and awesome. However, the arms can't hold themselves up. This is the worst part they fall so he just sag them by his side. It's the stupidest thing I've ever seen in a Lego set. Why would they have arms that can't hold themselves up they could've just used a stronger connection. Do better Lego.
This set is awesome!! From the transforming cassettes to the mini Soundwave this set does not disappoint. Soundwave looks great in both robot and cassette player modes.
This is a wonderful build for those who remember the original transformers from the 80s. The figure has lots of articulation points and transforms very smoothly. The best parts for me are the sound brick and the cassette feature.
Awesome build had fun with this one, stands up like a champ perfectly on its own. Looks amazing on display alongside Lazerbeak and Ravage. Fun to hear all the one liners Soundwave has to offer. If you’re a LEGO fan and also a Transformers fan don’t need to think or be on the fence about this one - it’s absolutely amazing looking at the final product. Fun to build and see its steps and try to figure out how it’ll ultimately transform. Well worth it!
Soundwave was my favorite G1 toy as a kid. When I saw him in Lego form I knew I had to have it.
The build is fairly simple and straightforward. Some neat techniques to give it movement.
Soundwave in his robot form is awesome. I love his look and how poseable he his. Downside to how poseable he is is that some of the joints are somewhat weak. The arm holding the gun has to be lowered or it just falls to the floor. Every time I touched the arm to move it or transform it, the fingers and/or hand fell off.
The tape recorder mode feels incomplete. The arms just sit in the back and look horrendous. I don’t envy the designers task of making it transform at all, but it isn’t good. Parts of the feet, hands and even a leg fell off while transforming it also. For me it was incredibly frustrating.
I live the way Razorbeak looks in both tape and bird forms. Ravage was not nearly as good. His tape form doesn’t remotely look like a tape, and the dog form isn’t much better.
I will be keeping him in his robot form since that look is awesome, I just wish it was the best it could be.
