Paying for auto ignition, but stuck with manual

It’s a great grill except hasn’t been starting on its own since being installed. Would have preferred a grill that had a dependable ignition. Since it was installed when we learned this, we can’t return it and no one is coming to fix unless I pay someone. So stuck with a manual ignition even though we paid for auto.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Weber Spirit cuts several good features

The grilling function of the Spirit grill is excellent. Here is my disappointment: my original Spirit 700 grill had a feature that weighed the propane tank and accurately indicated the level of propane in the tank, new model does not; original came with a binder providing recipes and instructions for grilling, new grill provided instructions with print so small it’s almost impossible to read; original grill had a guide for cooking temperatures printed on the shelf panel which was very convenient; new grill has nothing like that; the wheels on the original grill are of of good quality; new grill wheels are low grade. I think Weber hired some inexperienced college kids to find ways to cut corners and eliminate some excellent features. Why would you do that?

Poor material quality for the money

Very cheap material quality for the money. I’ve had several genesis grills over the years, and this spirit is roughly what I paid for those grills years ago, but the quality of materials, the build quality, the appearance, everything is significantly cheaper. It feels semi-disposable by comparison.
The grill does have some nice features. The self lighting burners, the sear feature, those are nice. But the cabinet, the little tables on the sides, the grates, the box, the lid: everything feels cheap, and that’s the feeling I have every time I use it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good quality, needs more BTUs

It's good - the quality is really good, and it heats up well (when it's warm out). The only thing is that when it's not warm out it doesn't like to get crazy hot. Realistically it needs about 10K BTU.

One negative about this Grill is that it does not tell you how much gas is left in the tank. My old Weber Grill we used to hang the tank on the outside of the grill and it would weigh the content of the tank and let us know when it was near empty. The E-425 which we just purchased does not tell us how much gas is left in a tank. So I have to pick it and guess how much gas is left.
I would recommend this to a friend!
