Love this dryer!!

I bought this dryer and the matching LG WM4000HWA washer a couple of months ago and I've been very pleased with their performance. I upgraded from the previous LG models and find that this dryer dries clothes much faster and produces fewer wrinkles even if you forget to unload right away. For items that are very susceptible to wrinkles, I love the Steam Fresh function for touch ups. The clothes come out dry and smooth. The only problem I've had was snagging of small items in the vent openings around the lint trap. This didn't happen often but I called LG and they sent me a new lint trap that has resolved the issue thus far. Another nice feature is the LG app that sends a message to your phone when your clothes are done washing and drying. I'm very happy with both the washer and the dryer.

Terrible experience with this dryer

This dryer after the very first load, threw off error codes and the clothes did not dry properly. I would not recommend this dryer, in fact we had it returned, and they sent us a new replacement dryer.
The new dryer was even worse as it would not start at all. All the lights came on but the dryer would not work at all.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS MODEL ESPECIALLY AFTER 2 DRYERS WERE BAD.

My 2 month-old LG gas dryer doesn’t heat. Instead of replacing my dryer, they say they will fix it. IT’S BRAND NEW! Do not buy an LG dryer unless you like lemons.

It was time to update my LG washer and dryer after over 15 years of faithful service. They both worked fine but I was anxious to replace them before I had a problem.
With regard to the model DLGX4001B dryer, it’s amazing what technology advances have taken place in 15 years!
The washer/dryer is WiFi enabled so that I can check the cycle progress on my phone and receive Alexa alerts once the cycle is finished. The dryer is paired to the washer so for example when the wash cycle for Towels is complete, the dryer automatically pre-selects the dry cycle for Towels.
There are more cycles and each is much more unique with this model compared to my 15 year old machine. This model also features steam functions.
It runs whisper quiet, smooth, and is solid as a rock.
The unit looks great in black steel but a minor complaint is that the LED panel is a bit hard to see so I need reading glasses and a flashlight if I want to choose any of the many available dry options.

Disappointed.

Purchased 11 mo. ago. Experienced a problem. Dryer would not stop running after cycle completed. Waiting on repair for about a week now. Process has not been that smooth. Discovered that sometimes it will work okay, other times not. Have to unplug it after every use. We are waiting on a new motherboard. Otherwise, I like the dryer.

Good product undermined by LG's installation team

Good product undermined by LG's installation team.
The product itself probably deserves 5 stars. The installation team was appalling. The re-installation team was not much better.
The product was not leveled, and the team walked away with the leveling wrench supplied with the product. They tramped dirt in and didn't clean up. Their hands dirtied the laundry walls and the product. They didn't know how to install to one side or other of the available space. The second team worked this out. The incompetence of both delivery teams was not helped by their lack of English language skills.
That said, two weeks of operation have been incident-free and effective. I recommend the product, but be warned. You'll probably have to supervise them closely when they install it!

Won't Dry, LG Won't Help, No Custom Settings

The dryer will not dry a load no matter what options are selected. LG requires that I pay an additional professional to come out, inspect the vent and certify in writing that the vent is clear and installed correctly (which it is, it was just professionally installed). The dryer I replaced dried fine with the same vent configuration. Then, after I pay and submit the certification, they may think about repairing or replacing the defective BRAND NEW dryer.
The dryer also lacks any customizable cycle features; my old dryer allowed me to create my own cycle, such as medium heat, extra dry and sturdy fabrics. They offer some downloadable options but they are limited and must be downloaded every time. AND, the remote start option is a joke. To run the remote start option, you have to set the dryer to remote start AT THE DRYER every time? Who designs these machines?
