[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these machines last month. I absolutely love every feature the washer and dryer have to offer. I love how fresh my clothes smell and feel. The best feature is the sanitizer setting. When you have 2 babies and a husband that works in construction, that's exactly what you need.

Lint trap a huge problem

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this dryer and the matching washer. The washer is amazing. The dryer is terrible. The first one we got didn’t heat up at all. The second one we got destroyed our clothes with the known lint trap problem that catches the clothes and tangles them then tears them when they get free. The lint trap is POORLY designed and barely catches any lint at all instead when you open the door lint comes out everywhere, then when you pull the lint trap to empty it there’s nothing in the trap because it gets “cleaned off” and it falls deep into the dryer which is scary from a fire standpoint. Since this is a known issue for quite some time, that I discovered AFTER I believed Consumer Reports and purchased it. LG needs to do the right thing and redesign the lint trap. After our second one we switched to a different brand and are very happy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm one of those people who keep appliances until they are no longer repairable. So when my dryer of 21 years finally gave up the ghost, I was more than ready to begin my new era of drying. LG was my number one choice: I already have a 13 year old LG washer that has only needed one repair. Since my previous another brand dryer was basically a selection of time dry or perm press, this LG offers perfect choices, along with a fantastic steam feature that really leaves clothes looking wonderful. I'm still experimenting with all my options, not to mention my downloadable cycles. And when it's time for a new washer, I know I can get the matching LG model and set up a wi-fi link between the two for even more efficient drying!

I have only had this for a few weeks. I have read the online manual, by the way , is not as informative as I would have hoped. And rarely has a load been dry with auto sense. I almost always have to do time dry after the initial cycle has completed. It is frustrating. Again the most frustrating part though is a coherent manual. Multiple models are included, then there will be several pages on one, then skip, several more pages, with little to no description of the cycles. 2 sentences here, later 2 more and you try to put all the info together. It is an absolute mess. Therefore I have not used some of the options, cycles, etc
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dryer was installed two weeks ago. Installation was straightforward. So far, I’ve only done two loads and everything worked as expected. I found the manual often difficult to interpret, and especially so for setting up the ThinQ wifi. For example, it if not clear whether the word device is referring to the dryer or the smartphone. Also, a lot of trial and error is involved in learning to use the controls. I hope this will improve over time. Note. I am a native english speaker with a PhD in physics. So far, I don’t have enough experience wit this machine to recommend it to someone else. Ask me again after six months or a year.

When setting up the ThinQ app you want to make sure your router is set for 2.4GHz, anything higher is not compatible. Also the wireless network name (SSID) has to be a combination of letters and numbers, special characters will not work. You want to make sure that the security protocol of the router is set to WPA2, otherwise network set up may fail.
Once you are cleared the setup you should be able to download new and specialized cycles that are not included on the dryer. With the app you will also get energy monitoring advice, venting tips and smart diagnosis feature that helps you troubleshoot or diagnosis any issues. This app is a wonderful smart home companion tool. ^Jennifer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice dryer with lots of features. My only issue is the wifi setup. The dryer does not support 5Ghz networks - only 2.4ghz. If you have a multiband router, you can make it work but it’s tricky and requires another device.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this Dryer after a lot of research on matching washers and dryers. We downloaded the user's manual from the WEB site which helped us both appreciate and utilize the features of the product. Although highly satisfied, the dry sensor indicates clothes are dry. On some occasions it needs additional minutes to get completely dry. WIFI seems unnecessary and we're not sure we'll use it much. Overall, we are very satisfied with the purchase.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got a lemon, or a piece of junk. This dryer has been nothing but a source of aggravation ever since I purchased it. We keep on getting this flashing “gas” error. The dryer stops 25 to 30 minutes into its cycle with gas error flashing. It does not generate any heat, everything is still wet. We had a plumber check the gas line, everything is fine—our gas stove and gas water heater have no issues. An LG tech replaced the dryer’s gas valve—same issue. My mom suffers from dementia, laundry is a necessity in our house. To get this repaired, I have to pay a plumber to disconnect the gas line from the dryer, pay someone to bring it down from its platform, once the maintenance is done, pay for the reverse process. At this point, as soon as I have the money, I’ll get a new dryer , and hope to have better luck. My last dryer lasted over 15 years before the motor gave out. Buyer beware!!
