Good product undermined by LG's installation team

Good product undermined by LG's installation team.
The product itself probably deserves 5 stars. The installation team was appalling. The re-installation team was not much better.
The product was not leveled, and the team walked away with the leveling wrench supplied with the product. They tramped dirt in and didn't clean up. Their hands dirtied the laundry walls and the product. They didn't know how to install to one side or other of the available space. The second team worked this out. The incompetence of both delivery teams was not helped by their lack of English language skills.
That said, two weeks of operation have been incident-free and effective. I recommend the product, but be warned. You'll probably have to supervise them closely when they install it!

Compared to an LG set bought 5 years ago for the same cost for my primary home, there has been substantial improvements in performance and features.

Won't Dry, LG Won't Help, No Custom Settings

The dryer will not dry a load no matter what options are selected. LG requires that I pay an additional professional to come out, inspect the vent and certify in writing that the vent is clear and installed correctly (which it is, it was just professionally installed). The dryer I replaced dried fine with the same vent configuration. Then, after I pay and submit the certification, they may think about repairing or replacing the defective BRAND NEW dryer.
The dryer also lacks any customizable cycle features; my old dryer allowed me to create my own cycle, such as medium heat, extra dry and sturdy fabrics. They offer some downloadable options but they are limited and must be downloaded every time. AND, the remote start option is a joke. To run the remote start option, you have to set the dryer to remote start AT THE DRYER every time? Who designs these machines?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this based on consumer reports and dealer/repair reports. First one would not fire up gas. Check lines for gas, ran checks and got NO GAS code. Dealer was going to repair under warranty but I told them I paid for a new dryer not a refurbished one. Took some talking to get them to replace the unit with a new one but all is good. Still a pain to get connected to ThinQ but once it connects it is great.. Like to be told when cycle is done. So far no problems, and time will tell. Took off one star because had to go thru two units to get one that worked.
