I love how quick the computer is at startup and updates...far faster than my old HP laptop...but it was 8 years old. However, extremely frustrated with the fact that HP installs Office 365 and I can't get rid of it...I tried numerous times to uninstall so that I can install my Office 2019...nope keeps saying that a new version is installed and proceeds to put wrong product code and then askes me to call and the call then says wrong product number and hangs up...The battery does NOT last more than a couple hours and doesn't recharge to 50% in 45 minutes...several hours later it's fully charged. None of those are a deal breaker, but don't install Office 365 if when I am ordering it I tell you I have and Full Office product that I will be installing myself!!!
I've been using it for almost two weeks now and I am very happy with it. It is fast and has a great deal of storage. I do wish that it had at least one more USB Type A/B port and an option for a 512 GB SSD instead of the 256 GB SSD to go with the 1 TB HDD would be nice.
This is my 3rd HP 17" laptop. My early computers, towers and laptops, were Dells but I became dissatisfied with the price/quality. I've been very satisfied with all of my HP laptops. This most recent laptop provides a lot of bang for the buck. The SSD cold boots in less than 15 seconds, the screen resolution/colors are very good, and performance, with 16GB RAM and i7 processor, is very good.
My only complaint is the touch pad. It's so sensitive that when typing, my hands above the touch pad trigger input resulting in unwanted cursor movement causing typing errors. I've never experienced this with the touch pads my other HP laptops. I noticed that the touch pad is closer to the keyboard than in my other HP laptops. I found info on the web on how to disable the touch pad, but I haven't done it yet.
I love this laptop, it met all my needs for freelance work and personal use. It's fast and simple to set up. The keyboard is full size with comfortable hand placing so it's easy to type fast. The video and audio quality is excellent. I highly recommend this laptop!
This laptop is used for general web browsing and document editing. The large 17-inch screen really helps for these tasks. The laptop has plenty of speed since it is not used for gaming and runs quietly. The only nit I can think of is that the power button is in the top row of the keyboard. We are getting used to its location but would really like it to be all by itself.
