Loved it until they changed their subscription

I LOVED the Roku camera and it’s what I recommended to anyone that was looking for cameras for their homes. I didn’t have the subscription because without it you could still get snapshot pictures of what triggered the motion detected alarm. With us being on an extremely tight budget that feature was unexplainably important because we can shell out extra money each month for a subscription. Roku has now changed that feature as of 3 days ago and now unless you’re watching the live feed you don’t receive any knowledge of what was happening in your cameras view. Extremely disappointing because I really did love the cameras for their price point and because they didn’t force you to get a subscription but now they are forcing you to

Night vision.

I spoke to customer service several times. Night vision is worthless. Just grainy.

Night vision is significantly affected by both rain and light reflection, causing glare, cloudiness, and reduced image clarity. We suggest cleaning the lens with a microfiber cloth, then checking the camera's angle and environment for obstructions like spiderwebs. Also, adjust the night vision settings. When night vision is set to Auto or On and you need a better view in a dark environment, you can turn on the IR lights on your camera. Removed feature without notice

I have three of the Roku indoor cameras. When I got them one of the features I liked was that it would take still images of motion detection and it would do this without a subscription. I was having some work done at my home so I signed up for subscription to get video recordings instead of just still images during the time the work was being completed. After the work was done, I canceled the subscription because it was no longer needed. After canceling I noticed I was no longer getting the still images I got before. After contacting customer support, they said that feature had been removed and they were sorry I did not get a notice about it. That was a great feature and one of the reasons I purchased this brand camera. Now the camera is useless to me and I’m going to be shopping for a different brand camera

Useless unless you buy subscription

I've been using the roku cameras for over 2 years and was very happy with them. I have 8. Until a couple months ago. Roku decided to stop providing still images of events in an attempt to force you to buy a subscription. No warning. They still send notifications but this makes the cameras virtually useless
unless you are watching live stream. Im going back to my geeni cameras. No subscription needed.

I'm using the camera to monitor a relative in a memory care facility. I can see if she has fallen or just needs assistance in getting an item in her room. The sound is great and the picture is always clear. It was simple to set up and it is a great relief when I can't be at the facility to check on her myself. I have recommended this camera to others without hesitation.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm not very Tech savvy but after a few trial and errors I was able to set this up I must say the picture quality is fantastic for for such a small device it covers a very large area And the notifications on my phone are awesome And the notifications on my phone are awesome
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This camera was super easy to set up, connects to the wifi, and has a simple app which allows you to see what’s happening while away. Our favorite part is that you can also talk through the camera if needed
