NOT GOOD FOR MEDIUM TO LARGE HOMES!!

The doorbell and camera work perfectly fine. However, it only comes with one chime and you are unable to purchase any additional chimes. I find this to be a huge problem. I have a 4 bedroom home with an additional detached room. If I put the chime in the detached room then you CANNOT hear the doorbell anywhere in the home. Ring offers the ability to purchase extra chimes. I wish I had known and would have just purchased one of those.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very nice, but needs work

Just want to start off by saying this has been a very solid device so far. I have been installing professional security systems for 24 years now, all brands in residential and commercial. Which has led to this review. The doorbells great, but the app is where features are lacking, and very common features as well. Biggest complaint is you can only create one log in. This is huge in many ways as far as giving different users authority levels. There are many features in the smart home app I may not want another user to have access to. Especially if you include the home security system. For example, I want my daughter to have access to the door bell, and Roku LED strip in her room but not every other light in the house. I may want to install a camera in my bedroom and hide that camera from other users as well. Many possibilities should be available for different scenarios. You may have a teenager in your home you may want to give them app for certain things like, arming/disarming, doorbell, lights and other cool things Roku offers. Here is the catch, you may want to set a rule that your teen can’t disarm the system after midnight to ensure he or she isn’t sneaking out or coming home to late. Or maybe you have a home cleaning service you would like to give a code in the case your out of town,but you only want that code to work after 7am and be inactive after 5pm Saturdays only. This is where users and authority levels come into play. This should all be possible for the Roku stuff to really take off in the security world. These are all commonly requested rules by customers I deal with. Roku is definitely made for residential but could work in a small business as they grow, but not without making these changes in the app first. Also lacking are security devices for the home security system. Absolute need for smoke detection, CO, flood sensors and probably a wireless repeater if you have a very large home, as Roku claims it will work in a small home to a castle. Well I don’t see that happing without a wireless repeater or two. One more recommendation would be to be able to tie in your door bell chime to sound when the alarm goes off and work as a siren and not have to rely on the hub for your siren. Only one chime can be installed with the doorbell, which is also a huge set back as you have to bypass the wired chime in your home to use its wiring for your Roku doorbell. Not common for other video doorbells which will still work with your existing wired chime. More chimes Roku, what about my third level, i want a chime up there too! What pulled me in to this doorbell is the TV feature. Super cool, and not offered by any other video doorbells I’m aware of. Great for the kids to keep track of who’s at the door when where not around. I do see the possibilities to see this stuff really grow and be great! Love the light strips and plugs! As it stands now this Roku security and smart home seems like a great fit for a single person or couple living in a apartment are smaller home. Have a. Little catching up to do, but I think it’ll get there.

Mostly great

I was initially looking at Ring, but then I came across the Roku version at a much better price and similar features. Clear, wide-angle picture. I wish it worked with my old doorbell, but the Roku chime is fine - although it uses an electrical outlet.
The doorbell works well with the Roku android app, but it doesn't work with the Roku TV app which is strange. Can't connect. I have since installed Roku WiFi cameras, and they work with both the android and TV apps.
I would buy the doorbell camera again, but it's annoying that it won't connect to the Roku TV app.

I love the doorbell, but every 2 to 3 days we get an error message on our phones and have to reset our phones.

Not too difficult to wire in just slowly follow directions, but I love the piece of mine being able to see out for packages and groceries but also who’s on my door since I don’t have a peep hole, but I end up using it also just for packages and to see Outside even cars Highly recommended

We were deciding who to get for a camera. We went through ROKU …Because we gave other Roku devices. Also the price . It was cheaper for the service the other doorbell and other cameras we bought. The app is very easy to navigate. I highly recommend this service if you Are looking for cameras and/or security for your hone or whatever you may need them for. I’m actually looking into getting a key pad and alarm system.

Easy to I stall. Not great that it didn't work with our existing central doorbell system but I guess you can't have everything. The kit did come with a wedge which works really well in the carport of our home to cover more area. I will be installing another on our front door soon.
