14 days then boom

The 14 day trial was great,after not subscribing to extended cloud, message shows only 1 notifications per day, I bought it for the outdoor camera on the garage it being an outdoor camera. I have 4 Mercury cameras and used them 4 years without problem ,I could have bought an outdoor Merkury for the same price. I thought I would go Roku since I have 3 steaming sticksand a Roku sound at, but must say I highly disappointed in the service and quality of photos on doorbell
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi James, we appreciate your feedback. Following your 14-day free trial, you should continue to receive an image notification for each new sound or movement throughout the day. It's unusual to hear that you are only receiving 1 notification per day and we'd like to learn more.
Be sure to double-check 2 things: your Detection settings and your Notification settings. These two settings will dictate how often & how many notifications you receive, regardless of having a subscription package or using the camera for free.

Terrible product and even worse technical support

I purchased this online and went to install it the day after it arrived. Connecting everything was easy, but the camera never proceeded past the "ready to connect" phase. It never would scan the QR code and technical support kept asking be to do the same steps over and over again. No resolution and getting my money back for the product has been a real hassle. Do Not Buy!!!

Absolutely horrible, rude and unprofessional customer service. The outdoor camera is okay, but do not get the video doorbell camera. You cannot reset the network in app if it’s changed, and the cameras are constantly disconnecting in the app. Now the doorbell camera won’t even power on. No help from Roku. Too late to return it. Waste of money.

Needs multiple doorbell chimes

Amazon Echo and, with far greater difficulty, Google Home speakers can be used as chimes, but it is not possible to use additional Roku chimes. It would be useful to provide a TV notification option that allows the user to select a tune. Every Roku TV and streaming player would then be a potential doorbell chime.

It catches not only people that come to my door, but also anyone who drives or walks by. I love being able to see what's going on at home while I am at work or away from the house.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We put this Roku video doorbell on our back deck. We love it. It was easy to hook to our wires from old doorbell. It has great video quality. We use the back more than the front of our house. That’s why it’s on our back deck. We have seen deer and birds on it from our back yard. Thank you Tryit sampling.

Needs more work

Bought this to replace my current video doorbell mostly because I would be able to see my front door on all my Roku TVs. Was extremely difficult to get it installed. Especially during scanning the barcode, that step needs changed. The app half of the time does not connect to the camera, which is due to the camera disconnecting to the wifi itself constantly. When you do get it connected, it takes so long that anything or anyone that was in front of it is now gone. The integration on the Roku TV is even worse. A box pops up indicating someone pressed the doorbell button. By the time you press the indicated box with your remote to the time it actually opens the app to the time the camera finally connects and gives you a picture, it is minutes and they are gone. It also doesn't stay live for long while viewing it thru the Roku TV app, so it's useless for monitoring too. Loved the concept and wanted it to work so badly. Took it down and put my old one back up.
