Great machine lacking some details

I use my Keurig on an almost daily basis. I can make my own hot/iced Machiottos and I find it great for a cup of hot chocolate before bed. For me it is fast and easy to use and I can mix different coffe flavors to create my own flavored coffee drinks. I bought the 550 for the size of the water tank, but there is not a useable 84 ounces -- it has to be refilled at 68 ounces leaving 16 ounces unuseable, so I think the tank size marketing is false. I also would like to see a selection of cup sizes for hotwater up to 16 ounces -- I do not like having to stand there and hold the brew button down continuously over and over to get enough water for a mug of tea or hot chocolate or instant soup for that matter -- can not imagine why there is not a size selection like there is for coffee. Otherwise I truly love my keurig and would give it 5 stars except for the above.

What took me so long to get a Keurig?!

My husband and used to brew pots of coffee, and if we wanted a cup later in the day we would microwave a cup from the pot. Barbaric! Now I just pop in my k-cup and have a fresh cup each and every time! I love the many varieties of coffees to try, and am becoming a bit of a coffee aficionado ;) Found out I don't like European roasts (bitter), but I love the extra bold roasts (smooth). Who knew I'd know such things?! I like the idea of having the carafe, but honestly I never use it. When I have company it's just so nice for them to chose their own k-cup. I also love the big water tank. Thanks, Keurig, for the free packs for this review.

Not what I had hoped

I had hoped this model would be as good as the VUE I replaced but the small brew size cups is a huge con. Kcups are no comparison to the brew flavor and intensity of the Vue packs. Big big let down. I'm used to the noise being the Vue was also but i wish it tasted as good. Thanks Kuerig for the free packs, for this review.

Hi Honest reviewer, You can brew up to 30 oz with the k550, in fact, you will be able to brew different sizes depending on the packs that you insert:
K-Cup: 4 oz. – 10 oz.
Vue: 12 oz. – 16 oz.
K-Carafe: 22 oz. – 30 oz.
Here are some tips on how to get a bigger brew:
Brew a 4-cup carafe using new K-Carafe packs and pour into two 14 oz. travel mugs.you can change the strength of your cup. Once the pack has been inserted, you will see the STRONG option in the bottom left corner of the brewer screen. Please check the empty box by touching the icon. You have now activated the STRONG functionality of the brewer.
K-Cup: 4 oz. – 10 oz.
Vue: 12 oz. – 16 oz.
K-Carafe: 22 oz. – 30 oz.

Long time owner!

We have been a owner ever since the Keurig made it's debut. We have given as gifts, had them in each of offices, and at home. We just purchased the Keurig K550 for it's new features. Love the controls, the look and the options. Not happy that some k-cups I own don't work, but REALLY DISAPPOINTED that the pot DOES NOT keep the coffee warm. When I called I was told I could purchase one that would. That just really isn't up to the standards that I am used to with Keurig. It really makes me sorry we put all the money into a new machine. I wont be recommending the new machines, nor will they be the gift of choice for my family at Christmas.
