No reusable pods for the carafe

Really? I expected to be able to use a reusable pod for brewing a carafe. The only reason to purchase the ability to brew carafe volumes is if everyone plans to drink the same brew. It's cumbersome filling reusable pods. Why force us to fill for every cup? The environment is calling for a better solution. We need less pods in the landfills. I am very disappointed with this purchase. The literature is misleading.

This machine's quality is poor compared to the Platinum that I had. The brewing process is slow and unreliable. If you use the 12 oz selection you most likely get 16 to 20 oz of coffee and thus have an overflow mess all over the counter. At the end of any of the the coffee brewing processes the machine acts like an old man with prostrate problems. It sputters, stops flowing and then starts up again. It takes way too long for the for the wait signal to go out so you can remove the cup. I have descaled the machine and cleaned all of the needles and k cup holder and it still did not help the problems. I also only use bottled water for the machine. And several times the machine goes into preheat mode and stays there. You have to shut the machine down and unplug it to reset it. In addition the clock does not keep accurate time; it will gain up two minutes every 24 hours. The company says they are having problems with all their machines with the clocks. After discussing all the problems above with the company support person, she sent out another k cup holder which of course did not fix any of the problems. I would not buy another K2 550 machine again.

I have many speciality k-cups for lattes and such and now can't use any of them. I already committed my older keurig to someone and really wished I had kept it.

Not what I was hoping for...

When my Cuisinart died, I was excited to see this newer, updated Keurig brewer in the store. Took it home, got it all set up and tried out my first cup and NOTHING! I just got a message telling me I couldn't use my favorite coffee pod because it didn't have a white circle around it?? So now Keurig is forcing me to buy a proprietary brand of coffee? My husband is ok with it since his Carribou brand seems to work fine. But, I have 6 boxes of coffee that doesn't match up! This brewer is going back!!
Pros: Attractive Mouthfeel/Body

Returning mine....

My husband and I have long been looking for a machine that brews pots and pods alike, and were very excited about the new Keurig Carafe system. Unfortunately, there is a scanner built in that can not be manually turned off, and it will only allow the use of pods that are sold AFTER July 2014, only use Keurig licensed pods, and can not use refillable pods at all. We buy a mixture of pods depending on the season, and also like to use the refillable pods for special blend coffees that are not available in k-cups, like a special coffee I get from France, and another from Costa Rica. Until Keurig makes it possible to turn off that scanner, we won't buy another one of these.
Cons: Pods Problem
