Big inconvenience

The carafe is a big plus. What I don't like is the fact Keurig is dictating what product you are allowed to use in your machine that you paid for. Its one thing to dictate that it has to be Keurig brand but not all the Keurig kcups work. It has to have the little black box with the check mark. I found this out after purchasing Keurig brand kcups and trying them in my brewer. Now I can't return them. Since all Keurig brand kcups don't work, it makes it hard to find a selection in stores. I have not found a store in my area yet that carries the Carafe cups. Yes the customer service reps are quick to remind you that you can order online from Keurig but there are shipping charges or you have to spend $45 each time to avoid those extra fees. Big inconvenience and major let down. Wishing now that I had purchased an older model Keurig.

It's Okay

Okay, once again they produce a coffee machine that simply does not brew hot enough or have a temperature control. ( I have had Four different Keurig models) The Pot does not keep it warm so if you make a pot you better distribute it right away or you'll end up re-heating it. 4 oz cup of coffee ? Awful small don't you think ? 10 oz is the largest ? Once again not big enough. Also the coffee maker makes this awful clicking noise that the Keurig people say is normal...No I wouldn't buy this again, but we got this next to nothing. Oh yea, a piece of the water filter plastic broke off the first time I tried to open it..and I want to ask the Keurig folks this ... Just what good is the favorite feature ? Really folks these are simply not worth the money you spend on them. The convenience of a large water reservoir is the only thing really significant over my older, smaller, less expensive machine.

I was excited about this keurig at first. I hate that i can't brew over 8 ounces of coffee at one time. I use the kcup twice to get 12 ounces. Very inconvenient. Has stopped putting water out, cannot remedy problem and need to return machine.
Pros: Multiple Settings, Stylish, Large Pot
Cons: Will Not Use All Kcup, Quit Working 2 Months, Long Brew Time, Limited Features, Largest Cup Size Is 8oz

Got my brewer directly from Keurig on Friday, easy set up, makes a better cup of coffee that the Cuisinart k-cup brewer I replaced. Just wish it had ability to brew larger than 10oz cup. I buy the Costco brand coffee k-cups in a box of 100 and they work just fine. They tell you up front the older ones won't work unless they have a certain top, but I also had a flyer in the box that said to call Keurig to exchange old ones for new ones if you needed to replace at no cost. Machine quiet and coffee stays just as hot in my cup as any other cup would. Hope it lasts as long as my other one did!
Pros: Multiple Settings, Easy to use, Easy to clean, Brews quickly, Stylish

A pathetic excuse for a coffee maker!

Five years of loyal use and in one day, Keurig just lost my business for good. I had a Platinum brewer I loved. When it broke, they sent me this as a replacement. No 12oz cup size? Dealbreaker. Ugly design? Loud? Proprietary Kcups only? Excuse me, but who do you think you are? In trying to squeeze every penny you could out of people, you forgot that ease of use and happy customers was what made Keurig popular. I wanted to cry when I tried this new brewer, and sad tears of disappointment are not what keeps customers coming back. Goodbye, Keurig.
Cons: HARD TO CLEAN, Coffee Doesn't Stay Hot, Complicated Controls, Long Brew Time, Limited Features, Ugly Design, Loud

A love and hate relationship...

I purchased my K550 2.0 Brewer using my reward points, and to replace my Keurig Platinum Series Brewer that I had for about five years. I used my old Brewer around the clock for coffee, tea, brew over ice, hot water for my oatmeal and/or tea varieties that were not available in k-cups. I could use a tall latte mug or taller cold cup without moving the drip tray, so it was never messy. I loved everything about it and recommended it to everyone. When I received my new K550 Brewer, I planned to use it the same way. I liked that it was quieter and held more water. As I began to use it I realized it was a lot less useful than my Platinum Series had been, even though its the high end model. I had to revert to shorter coffee mugs, and even then, the largest brewing size filled my mug only a little over halfway. I could no longer get enough hot water for a cup of my favorite teas that are only available in bag or loose. I would have sent it back but had already given my 5-yr old Platinum Series to my sister. I've been using the 2.0 and have somewhat adjusted to the many inconveniences, but I am considering getting an older model Brewer again for home use, and taking this one to the office. What I like about 2.0 is the ability to brew a carafe, and that it's somewhat quieter and has a larger reservoir. And, the Keurig quality cannot be matched. If you take care of any Keurig Brewer, it will last forever. This one provides reminders for changing the filter and descaling, which is really helpful. However, in order to get a five star review on this Brewer, Keurig will need to give back some of the features they took away. What I don't like is that I have to pay for more expensive pods in order to brew a 12 oz cup. I can see paying more for 14 or 16, but not 12. We have been brewing 12 oz from a k-cup for many, many years. I don't like that I have to remove the drip tray to use my favorite coffee cup or brew over ice, and I don't like the excessive dripping after brewing that leaves a mess on my counter. I don't like that I can't get more than 6 oz hot water at any one time, and that I must hold the button down while the water is dispensing into my cup. When a company says they improved something, that's what I expect to find, but instead I have lost many of the likes and conveniences of my old Brewer. I would recommend that, if you are thinking of purchasing this Brewer, to also consider the least expensive 2.0 model because this one isn't much different. (Or save up points.) The differences between the low and high end Brewers used to be numerous, making the high end Brewer a better buy. However, that is no longer the case, so it just depends how much space you have, how large of a reservoir you want, and how much you care about fun, but not necessarily useful features. Regardless, Keurig Brewers are great! They are sturdy workhorses that will never stop as long as you take care of them.
Pros: Brew Cup Or Carafe
Cons: Miss 12 Oz Option, Inconveniences, Only 6 Oz Hot Water

A Keurig user for many years. Just received a new 2.0 550 and like what I see so far. One big frustration is that it only uses Keurig brand pods so now excludes some of my other favorites. Also, don't seem to get as much coffee from a pod (max 10 oz.) as I did from my older Keurig machines when I put them on largest cup setting. Keurig must be doing this to drive us to the new more expensive K-Mug pods. These changes do make me miss my older machine which still works fine.
