Picked up a brewer at Costco because I liked the idea of the carafe. What I didn't realize is that unless you have specially marked pods (it appears to need the little Keurig logs all around the lip of the pod) the brewer will not work. So if you load your own pods with your favorite coffee - too bad. If you have some older pods in the cupboard chances are they won't work either.
Pros: Pleasing Aroma

I miss my Keurig 70. You could get a reasonable cup size, hot water without holding the button twice (6oz at a time!).
Pros: Stylish
Cons: No Easy Hot Water, Lost 12oz Cup Option

Thought new look and caraffe would mean better system-NOT!! Reduced the types and brands of coffee that I can brew. Noisey when operating compared to our previous single cup Keurig. Returning our K550 today.

HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT

I was so excite and couldn't wait to order the Keurig 2.0 K550 Brewing System. I have been a Keurig owner for over 7 years now. I have a Keurig Platinum system; which can make 5 different coffee sizes up to 12oz. I wanted to switch the the 2.o for the Carafe feature; so I ordered one. I got it Friday -- pulled it out of the box -- pulled it in -- filled with water --Went to make a cup of coffee with my standard kcup --- and to my HUGE disappointment -- it only gave me 4 options to choose from. EVEN though the first feature in the specs is •10 Brew Sizes: from 4 oz. to 30 oz. -- but what it doesn't say -- is to get any sizes after 10oz -- you have to have new kcups --- BUT --- these kcups are not available. And what really burns me -- is my current Kcup -- do just fine with larger sizes -- up to 14oz. I will be returning this machine

Hi there Barbara, we heard you, and we’re actively working on an engineering solution. Here are some tips on how to get a bigger brew in the meantime: Brew a 4-cup carafe using new K-Carafe packs and pour into two 14 oz. travel mugs – there are 11 K-Carafe pack varieties and more to be announced in 2015. Try our Vue packs, which come in 50 different varieties and will work with the Keurig 2.0 system. Keurig Care

I am very disappointed in this brewer. I got this with my Rewards Points and very sorry that I used them up for this brewer. I like a hot cup of coffee and this does not do the trick. I don't like that I have to use "approved" K-Cups. I like different types of coffee and tea and sometimes like to use loose tea and can no longer do that with this brewer. I am constantly having to turn it "on" and wait for it to heat up, which I hate as I drink coffee first thing in the morning and when I get home from work. It only gives you 6 oz of "hot" water at a time which is not helpful when I want to fill a larger cup. I wish I could get one of the old brewers back. I have tired but no one has them in stock anymore. Go back to the drawing board on this one because you need to. I just went this weekend and got a different brand and packed up my 2.0 to try and find someone who is willing to put up with lukewarm coffee and a machine that isn't ready when you want a cup of coffee, which is one of the reason for a this type of brewer.
Pros: I Really Don't Know That, They Aren't Any
Cons: Carafe Is Horrible, Coffee not hot
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Sorry, I wanted to love my new Keurig 2.0. I even gave my old one to my daughter. BUT! NOWHERE did it say that you could not use older Keurig pods, generic coffee pods, or my own ground coffee in my Kcup. It was not on the box or mentioned (clearly) anywhere in the manual. That is negligent. Obviously, you knew this would be an issue with buyers or you would have made it clear. I hope that you will consider selling a Kcup for the 2.0. I truly miss my old machine! I will be sure to tell my family & friends before they purchase this product for Christmas.
Pros: Durable, Multiple Settings, Brews quickly, Large Pot, Stylish
Cons: Limited Features
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very displeased. NO REUSABLE K-CUPS?!
on September 2, 2014

I would like to start with stating that I loved keurig up until this point. I live with my girlfriend (who doesn't drink coffee) and a roommate so the prospect of brewing one-off cups is very attractive. I received the new 2.0 as a pre-release unit and when it arrived at my apartment I was extremely excited to brew some coffee in it. So, I ground my beans, put them in my reusable K-Cup, put it in the machine and.... ERROR! I am truly unhappy with Keurig's decision to not allow reusable K-Cups as that is all I use. I regard the generic keurig coffee is very low quality and do not like any of the flavors; I like the machine, just not the K-Cups. I buy very high quality coffee that is freshly roasted and organic and I grind the beans myself. This is very important to me as a coffee enthusiast and something I am not giving up because Green Mountain Coffee doesn't want anyone else making money off their machines. I will be giving this machine away to someone who can make use of the carafe and be reverting back to an older model that lets me brew my own coffee.
Pros: Looks good, Has Cool Added Features
Cons: Not Able To Use Reusables
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Propritary coffee only

Very disapointed. Loved the idea of brewing 4 cups at a time for guests, but too many drawbacks to make it worth keeping. 1) can only use new Kurig brand K-cups. They lost their lawsuit aginst the aftermarket sellers so now they added a cup identification claiming it means the machine knows how to handle your coffee. 2) cannot set an autobrew for a single cup. When i am getting up at 4am to get ready for work the rest of the household is still asleep. If i wanted to leave a full carafe of coffee to burn i would buy a cheep drip machine. 3) cannot use the My K-cup. There are many seasonal and small batch coffees that are just not availabe in K-cups. Even Kurig's own refillable k-cup cannot work in this machine. Already back in the box and on its way back to the store. Time to pull out my old Kurig machine agian.
