Wouldn't work out of the box.

This brewer would not turn on right out of the box. I searched online to see if I was doing something wrong and found where many people who had purchased this same brewer and have had the very same issue. I called Keurig support and they said I would need to return it, they could not do anything with it. I am returning the brewer and have decided not to purchase another one due to all the bad reviews online. Do your research before purchasing the Keurig 550.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Save your money; just not worth it

This is a company that was on fire, but the K550 model with the carafe is disappointing in its quality and because I can't use my coffee. You have to use the K-cups/K-carafe cups. It just seems like the company decided to ride its laurels and make their money on the K-cups. I returned mine ... won't be forced to purchase the K-cups; too costly, and the quality wasn't as good as my first Keurig (which wasn't all that good; it wore out). Kind of like buying print cartridges for printers. I bought a laser printer.
Pros: Convenient I Suppose
Cons: Can't Use My Coffee

We’ve heard consumers’ requests and we are actively working on technology advancements to ensure we have a My K-Cup® reusable filter solution that will be compatible with Keurig 2.0 technology. We’re still refining the technology. Our plan is to introduce it for the 2015 holiday season.

This is the first Keurig and I'm please with the product. Get's used mostly on weekends and most mornings. I like the fact i can set a timer for those mornings I need coffee. I don't like the fact the there are limited cup sizes to choose from. Often times I have to run it twice or use a smaller cup of coffee. Suggestion, if cup size is a setting, then perhaps incorporating a digital update via USB to update Keurig settings and OS. Thanks, Keurig, for the free pods for this review.

Cons: Not enough cup sizes

We've had the K550 for 2 mos. and really enjoy it's convenience. Makes really good coffee every time and quickly. Wish there were more variety pack selections. We also like the hot chocolate pods. Thanks, Keurig, for the free pods for this review.

Use everyday for my choice of a good cup of coffee, which means I don't have to stop anywhere. Very confident and like the idea of brewing a pot when company is here. Really like the modern styling and the water fill system which includes the filter.

I use the product on the weekends mostly. Recently my touch screen was not working. I called Keurig and explained my problem. My product is still under warranty so they are sending me a replacement in the mail.
