Upgrading from the old Keurig Elite, I wasn't sure about this new brewer based on a lot of reviews. But I gave it a shot and it is truly an upgrade. It seems that most people hate the fact that you have to use "Keurig approved" K-Cups. This is barley a barrier. I personally never used my own grounds so I never had an issue with this. Even if you do, there are a lot of 3rd party devices coming out that bypass this so it's really not an excuse anymore. I love the different Brew options, like making STRONG coffee! The best part is the fact that this can brew an entire carafe (4-5 cups), which is great for family breakfast. The only thing that I don't like about this brewer compared to the old one is the hot water- If you wanted hot water in the old system, just take the K-cup out and pick your size. Not so here. You need to remove a K-Cup, and then it realizes you want hot water and makes you "press and hold" to dispense the water. You can't just press it and walk away. Not only that, but it only brews 6 ounces of water! So you have to repeat the cycle, which is super annoying. Other than that though, I would still take this system over my old brewer everyday.
Pros: Large Pot, Multiple Settings, Easy to use
Cons: Hot Water Is Hard To Get

Only downside is that older K cup pods will not work with this brewer since it needs to read a special code on the foil lid of the pod to determine which size it is brewing. Thanks, Keurig, for the free pods for this review.
Pros: Durable, Brews quickly, Easy to clean, Multiple Settings, Easy to use, Large Pot, Stylish
Cons: HARD TO CLEAN

I am a big fan of Keurig Products. I have owned the original single brew and the Keurig Elite. While the Elite was simpler, it brewed a great cup of coffee and had a 12 oz option. Coffee on strong setting of 2.0 is close to Elite. I miss the 12 oz setting a lot. Carafe is nice.
Pros: The Colored Lights R Fun, I Like The Strong Setting, Brews quickly, Carafe Can Be Handy
Cons: Std Brew Not Strong As B4, I Miss The 12 Oz Option

This is a very versatile, customized brewer. It's fantastic for everyday use for households or offices with multiple users with varied preferences. I don't like traditional coffee but love tea and the specialty brews like the Cafe Escapes collection. My husband drinks light to medium roast coffee and my parents, who visit frequently, prefer very dark bold brews. This brewer easily accomodates all of us and I especially like that if I happen to be out of bold flavors, I can use the "strong" brew setting to better suit my parent's preference. The larger water container is a big convenience as well. My only complaint is that you must use a Keurig brand pod- after market brands will not work with this nor will the canister that you can put your own loose grounds in that was available for the 1.0 version. Not a deal breaker but slightly annoying. Be aware that I will receive free pods for submitting this review but that in no way has jaded my very honest review of this brewer.
Pros: Brews quickly, Very Versatile, Easy to use, Custom Brew Settings, Multiple Settings
Cons: Can't Use Own Grounds, Can't Use After Mkt Brand

I got this brewer as an upgrade from one that I had for years and finally broke. I had a box of older K-Cups still left, and the new brewer didn't recognize the cups as K-cup so would not brew them, but there are a lot of 3rd party devices coming out that bypass this so it's really not an issue anymore. The only thing that I don't like about this brewer compared to the old one is the hot water- If you wanted hot water in the old system, just take the K-cup out and pick your size. Not so here. Largest cup brew is 10oz, miss the larger brew sizes. First couple cups of coffee has a nasty plastic taste, had to rinse the machine with vinegar to remove that taste. Like my old Keurig better
Pros: Easy to use, Durable, Large Pot, Easy to clean, Brews quickly
Cons: Limited Features, Ugly Design
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Our original Keurig (only did K-cups) quit working so the company replaced it with this newer model. We are grateful to have our brewer back, but this one is very SLOW and LOUD and we really liked that our Keurig did single serve. We didn't want a full pot which is why we loved ours so much. This unit is larger and does not fit well on our counter top.
Pros: It Works And Our Old One, Large Pot, Easy to use
Cons: Ugly Design, Loud, Long Brew Time
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
