Purchased this for the new option of brewing a carafe as well as a single cup, but returned it the same day. We grind our own beans but found out we can't use them in this Keuring without purchasing an additional cup and filters(sold seperately). Even if you purchase this additional cup it doesn't allow you to use your own grounds to brew a carafe of coffee! What a joke! I truly hope they rectify this the next time around as I've been a Keurig fan since the beginning.
Pros: Brews quickly, Stylish, Multiple Settings
Cons: Limited Features

Never Been So Disappointed!

We received this 2.0/550 as a Christmas gift and I'm sorry to say we've never been so disappointed with a product in our lives! I am the type of person who always tries to find even the smallest positive thing to say about a product, whenever possible. But I just can't find a single good thing to say about this machine. We purchased our original Platinum brewer several years ago and have been very happy with it and we're quite releived that we didn't get rid of it. The 2.0 is going back immediately and we're going back to the old model! This new machine is very poorly constructed, with cheap plastic materials and has just a fraction of the features of the older models. The largest cup size option is only 10 oz.!! I don't know anyone who drinks a 10oz (or smaller) cup of coffee in the morning! My husband uses a 16oz travel mug to take to work and this morning, he had to brew a 10oz cup, open the machine, close it back up and brew another 4oz. As if that wasn't frustrating enough, each brewing cycle took a minimum of 3 minutes to finish, if not longer. (and he did NOT choose the "stronger" brewing option) After taking several minutes to heat up in between cups, the coffee barely dribbles out of the machine at (literally) one to two drops at a time! The same thing occurred when I attempted to brew my 14oz mug, less than 5 minutes later. Our old platinum takes just about a minute to brew a 14oz cup and it does it in one transaction! By the time I finally had 14oz in my cup, the coffee was only luke warm and I had not yet added any cream & sugar. Sadly, there are several more negative points that I could add to this review but I don't want to waste any more of my time (or anyone else's) by doing so. What happened Keurig? What were you thinking when you redesigned your machines? Most companies strive to make a superior product when they create new versions, but from where I'm sitting, you've done just the opposite with this so called "upgrade". Back when we purchased our older model, I sang it's praises on my blog and recommended it to all of my readers, but I could never, in good conscience, do the same for the 2.0. Thank you for your time.
Pros: None
Cons: Long Brew Time, Far Fewer Features, Made Of Cheap Material, Loud, Coffee Just Dribbles Out, Luke warm coffee, Tiny Cup Sizes, Limited Features

Not the way it was given to us for because clock did not keep time so couldn't use auto on off feature, since we have early and late sch here that was the main feature our family gave to us. Also each one progressively got worse while waiting for new one....very unhappy wish they would just send me a new platinum brewer, then I am only out for all the 2.0 accessories I purchased. Great company bad product .....very frustrating
Pros: Keurig Stands By Product, Very Nice Reps, Ke
Cons: 4 Th One Still Die, Offered No Help 4 Th Time, Want My Platinum Brewer, Will Never Purchase Again, Loud, Coffee Doesn't Stay Hot, Even Thermal Carafe Poor, Worst Product So Unhappy, 4 Th One Still A Bad One, Clock Does Not Hold Time, Had To Replace 3 Times, Shouldn't Have To Replace, Does Not Recognize K Cups

Not sure if the 2.0 we got is faulty or if they just really take 3-4 mins to brew a 10oz cup? It starts off great and then slows to a dribble...have only had it for a month and it has never brewed a full pot with the new features and larger K cups. Not satisfied with this machine at all.
Pros: Stylish, Easy to use, Multiple Settings
Cons: Long Brew Time

I bought this product to complement my single serve. I liked the fact that I could brew more than one cup when i have company. I bought one and it stopped working after a few days. I was told I had to clean the needle after about 5 cups. This means pulling the plug and trying to feel into the top with a paperclip. The first was replaced with a second under the warranty. The second one also quit after a few days. Cleaning didn't help with either one and the inconvenience definitely outweighs any convenience I thought it would have. I may try it next year when the bugs have been worked out.
Cons: HARD TO CLEAN

Hi there let us help you out, included carafe is not insulated, we have introduced the Keurig 2.0 Thermal Carafe, which retains an optimum beverage temperature for at least an hour. This sturdy, stainless steel carafe is vacuum-insulated and double-walled, so your last cup can be as delicious as your first. Consumers can purchase the new Keurig 2.0 Thermal Carafe for $29.99 on Keurig.com and at select retailers. Please feel free to contact Keurig Consumer Care at 866-901-BREW (866-901-2739) and we will help resolve your issue with the noise

Keurig 2.0 k550 brewing

I think there is a lot of misconception about the Keurig 2.0's brewing mug size ability, in not being able to select more than a 10 ounce cup. Most people are trying to "hack" the Keurig with several different methods, but I can tell you there are no "hacks" required. It's not well advertised but Keurig does sell a small variety of brew packs called K-mugs and when inserted in to the Keurig 2.0, will allow you to brew the 12, 14 & 16 oz cups. The system is meant to operate/offer specific selections depending upon the type of k-pack inserted in to the unit. Hope this clears things up a bit.
Pros: Brews quickly, Easy to use, Multiple Settings, Stylish, Large Pot

Previous Keurig Owners Beware

We owned a Keurig B70 for 3-4 years and brewed 5-6 cups of coffee a day and thought it was a fantastic product. After that much use it was time to replace it and just bought a Keurig "2.0" 550 which on paper matched our previous unit and had some advantages. After two days of use though we realize there are some big differences: 1) You MUST use Keurig branded K-cups. That is not an issue for us because we drink Peet's coffee exclusively which is in Keurig's good graces. 2) Although the product description states there are many brewing sizes the reality is the new "smart" machine will limit you to 4, 6 , 8 and 10 oz. cups of coffee ONLY with the standard Kcup. In order to brew a "traveler" size cup of coffee (12, 14, 16 oz.) you MUST purchase "K-mug) cups exclusively from Keurig which are only available in 5 flavors. Our default setting on our B70 was 12 oz. and now our coffee taste completely different and not for the better. 3) You cannot adjust the temperature of your coffee. Once again, the "smart" machine knows best. 4) In order to dispense hot water you need to hold the button the entire time instead of just pressing it. Another "improvement" offered by the "smart" machine. In short I like my B70 much better.
Pros: Large Pot
Cons: Long Brew Time, Limited Features

Very disappointed

I purchased this so that I could give my son my 5-yr old Keurig to take to college. I couldn't be more disappointed. While setting it up, I noticed a broken part inside the K-cup holder. To be fair, Keurig is sending me a new part. The machine looks nice & is quiet, but that's where it ends. There is no way to program the default size you want to brew, so every time I brew a cup, I have to change the size from 8oz to 10oz. And I have measured the 8oz cup...it is 7.5, and the 10 oz is actually 9oz. My old Keurig's default poured just shy of 11oz and it was perfect. I also do not like that I can't set a default temperature. We like our coffee very hot, and this machine does not make it very hot. And 3rd, why do they only offer 4oz or 6oz for hot water!?? When I asked the representative from Keurig, she said she agreed with me & had no idea why. Now to top things off, the machine has stopped working after just 3 days. It keeps saying it's heating up & never gets past that. I have reset the machine, unplugged it, removed and replaced the carafe, to no avail. I'm done, & it goes back today. I will research other brands. Disappointed with Keurig.
Pros: Looks nice, Nightlight Feature, Quiet
Cons: Can't Choose Brew Temp, Hot Water Only 4 Or 6 Oz, Broke After 3 Days, Can't Set Brew Size
