Amazing Upgrade!!

I am somewhat of a coffee addict. I've had a Keurig brewer for many years. I love the 2.0 because you have the flexibility of a cup or a carafe. The K550 is very stylish and looks great on the counter. The different color lights and screen backgrounds make it easy to adjust to your specific decor. The selection of coffees is outstanding and there is something for everyone. The addition of the carafe function is great when two or more people in your household all want a cup of coffee at the same time. I no longer have to have two coffee makers on my counter!!! My one an only complaint is the carafe that comes with the brewer is plastic and does not keep the coffee in the carafe hot for very long. I am going to upgrade to the insulated carafe, but why not just include that with the brewer!! Overall, I'm in love with the new K550.

Cons: Coffee Doesn't Stay Hot

I used my brewer everyday multiple times. I love coffee! It can brew very fast. I can change the settings to strong or regular coffee. Also, the just hot water is great to make my tea. The only thing is that you can't use the filters that they sell in store but overall I love it!!! Thanks, Keurig, for the free packs for this review.

My Keutig 2.0 K550 experience

Because my fav coffee Gevalia Colombian does not have the DRM label I had to defeat the DRM with a "Freedom Clip" from a coffee company other than Green Mountain. Also the use of a small rare earth magnet gives access to other features that seem to be locked out unless using the carafe. They made a well featured brewer and then made you have to spoof things to get the features to work. Really unrealistic and poor decisions made in a bubble by Keurig management. The brewer is good, not so sure about the company...

Unlock the Hidden Features

It has many hidden features that I can not use. It will not allow me to brew a travel mug of coffee from a k-cup. And I am a person who prefers their coffee a little on the weak side. As it stands right now in order to get more than 10 ounces of coffee at once I have to run water through the k-cup twice, which means I am waiting twice as long for my cup of coffee. During the week I am the only coffee drinker in the house and do not have a need for the whole pot. It could have been a little better thought out.

Was disappointed that I had to go to the web for ideas to get rid of the plastic taste. Very disappointed that I cannot use refillable kcups. The HP mentality may be your demise.... because of the cost of the product I expected much more. "Thanks, Keurig, for the free packs for this review."

I have had other Keurig coffee makers, but this is one of the best they have made, it brews perfect, and is quiet. The only thing I miss with this is being able to use my own fresh ground coffee with it because of the DRM feature they put in it. But it is worth the purchase. Thanks, Keurig for the free packs for this review. I will enjoy them

This is a daily use product - - Morning noon and night - - Our only issue is that the carafe does nor keep the coffee hot - - need a better standard carafe with the package
