Short lifespan

We received our first Keurig 2.0 550 free from Influenster, to review. It stopped working within 9 days. Since it was registered, and under warranty, Keurig sent us a replacement machine, and that one stopped working after less than 5 weeks. I would have chalked the first one up as an anomaly, but this is the second machine to malfunction after a VERY short amount of time. We take care of our appliances, and so this is REALLY disappointing. This is an expensive machine, and its design should probably be re-examined.
Pros: Fast, Multiple Settings, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Stylish, Easy to use
Cons: Fragile, Pricey / Poor Value
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Don't Waste Your Money

I bought this and noticed that each day the clock gains 1 minute. After 2 weeks, the clock was almost 15 minutes ahead of every clock in the house. I returned the brewer for a replacement and the new one did the same thing. After 4 replacements, I gave up and bought an older model, the K79 Platinum Plus. The clock is accurate, it's not noisy, and it has many more features. I do miss the touchscreen, though.
Pros: Stylish, Touch Screen, Easy to use, Easy to clean, Multiple Light Options
Cons: Loud, Clock Isn't Accurate, Less Features
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Wasted K-cups

1. Extra large water reservoir = good 2. Only certain, specially labeled "k-cups" can be used. Gevalia, off-brand and 'older' k-cups WILL NOT WORK and there is no way to ascertain from the outside box which k-cups by Keureg will be acceptable to 2.0 = very bad 3. The plastic "carafe" that comes with the 2.0 does NOT keep the coffee warm = not good 4. The carafe option does make 3-4 cups very quickly, but you must drink it immediately as there is no way to keep the coffee warm. = not so good either 5. The entire 2.0 is very large and fairly heavy = not so good. 6. Too many bells and whistles do NOT make a better Keurig. Stay simple. The more k-cups that can be utilized the more the Keurig will be used. 7. Called and requested a "lesser" inexpensive model be exchanged for the 2.0. 8. Exchange went smoothly. Keep your original 2.0 boxes to ship it back. = good
Pros: Multiple Settings, Brews quickly
Cons: Cannot Use All K-cups, Coffee Doesn't Stay Hot, Waste Older K-cups
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Been a Keurig customer for years. Love the Idea of one cup at a time most of the time. My old Keurig is/was great. When I got this new 2.0 Keurig home to find that I could only use K-cups that the coffee maker could scan. I could not even make a cup of coffee. I went online to see if I was doing something wrong to find out that the web sight says nothing about the coffeemaker including a reader to scan K-cup rims. If you insert anything but a recently purchased, authorized, more expensive k-cup you'll get the "Oops! I refuse to brew this product" message. I was sad to see that 95% of the good reviews that the new Keurig 2.0 got came from users that got there new brewer courtesy of Influentser for testing because they were loyal customers. It is sad if that is what it takes to get a good reviewI am sad to say that the coffee maker was back at the store in less than 2 hr. There are enough things that we are told we can and cannot do. Not being able to pick your own coffee should not be one of them. Talk about being disappointed. This is going to backfire on you Keurig! I should have checked out the reviews before I went shopping.
Pros: Stylish
Cons: Too Much For This, Can Only Use There Coffee
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your feedback, it's appreciated. If you register on our site Keurig.com, you may find the thermal carafe at a cheap price at some point.

After brewer was received, We realized that there was no refillable cartridge with the K550. My God, we paid enough for the brewer that it should be equipped with one; but NO not even any option to buy one!! Very disappointing as we have a bagged Hawaiian coffee that we really enjoy. My 550 is not being used !!!! Don Klemcke
Pros: Easy to use, Brews quickly
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The My K-Cup accessory and other reusable filters are not compatible with Keurig 2.0 Brewing Technology because the brewer has no way of determining what beverage is being used or how much coffee is being added, and therefore cannot adjust to factors such as brew strength and amount of water, which could represent a safety concern.

My husband & I have different schedules & I like decaf so we thought this would be perfect. 1. Need a temperature control... coffee not hot enough. 2. K 2.0 is VERY restrictive in what cups you can use. Only one decaf type so far. 3. 10 oz is not 10 oz. Hard to get a full mug of coffee unless you run it twice. WAKE UP! how many people actually use little coffee cups these days?
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Coffee Doesn't Stay Hot, Limited Features
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi Jane, Keurig has set the brew temperature to optimize taste. For K-Cup packs, the brew temperature is set at 193 degrees Fahrenheit. For Vue and K-Carafe packs, the brew temperature is set at 197 degrees Fahrenheit. These settings are the highest of any Keurig brewers. While The My K-Cup accessory and other reusable filters are not compatible with Keurig 2.0 Brewing Technology, we offer a diverse portfolio of nearly 400 different beverages from 60 brands, giving consumers lots of choices – no matter their taste preferences or their budget. And every beverage and brand that was offered for previous Keurig brewers is also available for our Keurig 2.0 Brewing Technology system.

There seems to be some compatibility issues with this machine and k-cups sitting on the supermarket shelves. I bought this machine for my parents as a gift and after buying 4 boxes of k-cups (all with the keurig logo) only 1 box of cups would actually brew in the machine. A simple search on the internet revealed that this machine can distinguish between "real" k-cups and knock offs and will refuse to brew anything but the new official cups.
Pros: Easy to use, Stylish, Large Pot, Brews quickly
Cons: Limited Features, Doesn't Work Will All Cup, Doesn't Work The All Cups, Won't Work With All Cups
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

In order for Keurig 2.0 Brewing Technology to deliver the perfect cup or carafe every time, it must read the lid and recognize the type of Keurig pack that has been inserted. Please give our Customer Service team a call at 866-901-2739 for assistance with older boxes without the new technology. They will be happy to help.
