To make our coffee. When we have our keurig parties. My 91 year old mother makes her special pies and cookies, I put out all my flavored coffees people pick what they want and we drink, eat, and talk. Some of the flavors we liked you no longer carry.

I Liked my Premier Keurig Better

The Keurig 2.0 is convenient and brews a tasty cup of coffee. The machine does not put out coffee hot enough for my taste, so each cup is microwaved upon completion. It is louder than my old machine, and clogs easier. The proprietary K Cup requirement is limiting and annoying.

Keurig 2.0 K550 - good coffee brewer

My main reason for buying the Keurig 2.0 K550 was to get a good cup of coffee, quickly, each morning to take with me on my drive to work. I had read it makes very good coffee, and I would have to agree. The machine makes the best coffee of any machine I've tried. My wife also uses it for hot water to make tea. We had an older Keurig V1 unit, used it for years, but it was getting old and needed to be replaced, so we bought the Keurig 2.0 K550 in December 2014. Here's what we think about it so far: The main thing we like about it: #1) it just makes very good coffee - noticeably better than my old Keurig V1 unit. Other things we like about it: #2) the large water reservoir, 80 oz. and #3) the water seems noticeably hotter than our old V1 unit, which I think makes the coffee better and makes this machine more useful for hot water for tea. #4) it seems very well built and durable. There are 2 main things we don't like about it: #1) it forces you to use only Keurig K-cups - you cannot use your own coffee with the old adapters, and you cannot use K-cups from other manufacturers. (there are ways around some of these limitations, though). Truthfully, this upset me very much at first, and I thought about returning the unit and getting something else. But now I'm glad I didn't do that. I've found over time that I really like several Keurig coffees, so I'm using the Keurig K-cups every day, and I really enjoy the coffee. That is the main reason I bought this unit, so it's doing it's job well. #2) When using it for hot water only, you have to hold down the brew button the whole time to spits out hot water, and if you release the button it stops. Plus, it only spits out 6 oz of hot water and stops, and then if you wanted more than 6oz you have to re-select the hot water option and hit & hold the button again to get more hot water. It would have been much better if the hot water option just used the same size selections that are available for making coffee, and then you just push the button once and it would spit out 4, 6, 8, or 10 oz of hot water. Anyway, the way the hot water option works is just odd. Overall, I give it 4 stars. It makes really good coffee, I'd give it 5 stars for that, but the other limitations and annoyances subtract a little bit. But overall it's a good unit.

Works well, but hot water is awkward

It works well and has all the convenience of Keurig k-cups. We were really looking forward to the full-pot capability, but 2 months later, we still haven't tried it. Overall, we're very happy with it, but we took one star off for the hot water feature. With other keurigs, the hot water feature is pretty straight forward. With this one, you have to hold a button while the water dispenses, and even still, it won't dispense enough to fill our large mugs. Thanks, Keurig, for the free packs for this review.
