What a mistake, I thought I could use any coffee in this machine including some of the readily available refillable ones in the market and was I wrong. If you want to be limited to Keurig approved only, then this machine is for you, if you want real choice, stay with the current machine....
Cons: Roasted Too Light, Not Enough Flavor, Boon For Keurig Only, Thin Or Watery Mouthfeel/Body

Upgrading isn't always an upgrade!

I purchased the K550 for my family within days of it being available because I was so happy with my old machine and wanted the convenience of brewing a larger quantity of coffee on the weekends. Does the machine make the great tasting coffee my family and I love? Sure. Does the larger carafe make enough for all of us for that first cup in the morning on the weekends? Yes, it does. The water reservoir is also large enough for multiple cups before it needs to be refilled but doesn't hold much more than what you need for a carafe. What we do not like is that with all this OS upgrade there are no user profiles to remember how we like our coffee! With EVERY k-cup we each need to poke at the screen multiple times to get the cup and brew strength we like - with the super deluxe model, would it have been that difficult to put user buttons on the screen and provide 'your favorite settings' profiles?? It is nice to have the hot water feature, but EVERY time you brew a cup, open and close it to remove the old one, the brewer goes into hot water mode, which you can cancel with a touch of the screen - you don't have to put anything in the brewer if you only want hot water, so why not only activate that feature from a button on the screen! I also did not see anyone else mention this, but the nightlight software has a bug if you use the 24 hour (military time) clock feature; as best we can tell from observation, the night light will only come on every 4 days instead of every night - that screams software bug to us! We weren't surprised that we couldn't use the My K-Cup in this machine but we were surprised that official Keurig k-cups were an issue. They were older cups we had in cold storage, but they were official k-cups. What we found more surprising was that we couldn't request stickers or something to be mailed to us to put on the top of the old cups - the web and manual support amounted to 'sorry, those won't work'. We were also hopeful that there was a travel carafe so we could take enough of our favorite coffee on the go - but there doesn't seem to be such a thing at this time. Overall, this top of the line model does brew beverages, but the bells and whistles were rather disappointing.
Pros: Brew Strength Option, Hot Water Feature
Cons: Software Bug, No User Profiles

Not Good!

First of all, I don't usually review things unless I want to for warn buyers. I've been a Keurig owner since they first came out. I was always a big advocate for this product but not anymore. This product really took a step backwards. I'm on my 3rd machine in 2 months! I bought the k450 first and I'd get 1/16th of a cup most the time so I figured something was wrong with the machine. I brought it back and exchanged it for the K550 because of the water on demand feature. That feature is nice but only 6 oz of water and you have to hold the button. As far as this machine, it's noisy and doesn't make a full cup consistently. Even the Karafe cups will only make about 2 oz. more times than it makes a full pot. As far as the K-cups, we have a lot of left over cases of cups that don't work. Some brands only work occasionally, even though they have the correct color code on the rim. Some that have the correct color code (Caribou), rips the top open so large that you get grounds all over the machine and in the cup. I really liked our K75 Platinum and am looking for another to go back to so we can use our cases of K-cups that don't work. In my opinion, don't waste your time and hard earned money on these new style Keurigs
Pros: Nothing
Cons: 116th Cup, Pricey / Poor Value, Noisy

Verified Purchase:No
We received our K550 and when we opened the box there was a notice that explained only Keurig products could be used with the machine. This was very limiting for us and we decided to return the brewer. It took a half hour on the phone requesting a Return Authorization Number which should have only taken 5 minutes.
Pros: Convenient, Easy to use
Cons: Limited Features
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Perhaps the one I bought is defected, but it only allows to use certain type of cups. Try a different cup style and a note pops up that it isn't "Kuerig accepted". What! My old Keurig accepted any style cup. Most frustrating is that after brewing it takes a life time before your able to brew another cup..some dumb note that pops up and states, "Too hot, Do not lift"..Either they really screwed up on their new design or my Keurig is the biggest lemon ever.
Cons: Long Brew Time, Limited Features

I have always been happy with my Keurig and was ready to upgrade. What a mistake! It malfunctioned by the third cup and I had to enlist the help of customer service, which I must say was extremely helpful and courteous and got me through the problem. It wasn't until I had a house full of company that I discovered that I couldn't use most of the K-cups that I had in my pantry. Once again I called customer service and this time they didn't have a solution other than to buy theirs. That is when I found out that Keurig has cornered the market on K-cups and made sure that you couldn't use anything else. I am truly disappointed with Keurig and will find another product to replace the 2.0 550 series that I wasted my money on. I wish I had read the other reviews before I made this purchase.
Pros: Stylish, Multiple Settings
Cons: Cannot Use All My K-cups, Limited Features, Small Pot

i love my keurig but the 2.0 model isn't very compatible with other coffees claiming to be keurig compatible. I have had to return several brands back to the grocery store since I bought the 2.0
Pros: Large Pot, Multiple Settings, Easy to use, Stylish, Easy to clean, Brews quickly
Cons: Loud, Limited Features

Terrible brewer

I purchased 2.9 brewer this year and started using in June. Since then I have had nothing but trouble with it. It clogs up and will not dispence and I have to try to draw out the grounds with a straw for it to work. Now a rubber gasket has come loose and it doesn't work at all. I wrote to you about a week ago and did not get the courtesy of a reply. If you want continued purchased, please replace this brewer and an acknowledgement of this message would be appreciated. I have no brewer now. I had old brewer for 4 years and gave it to grandson, who is still using it, thinking I was getting a better more modern brewer. Thank you.
Pros: Hot Water
Cons: Slow, Clots With Grounds, Cup Size Is Limited
