Great Machine but has its setbacks

Upon receiving my K550 brewer I was very impressed by the visual impact of the brewer. When I initially started the machine up I was some what worried by the time it took to heat up, however I chalked it up to being the first time start up. I was right, in subsequent start ups, initial heat up takes less than 30 seconds. The controls are pretty easy and straight forward. The interface itself is very minimal and looks nice. Given the price of the brewer it would have been nice to see a higher quality screen on it since you have to be looking right at the screen to view it properly (otherwise the screen looks really dark). As far as brewing is voncerened I was quit impressed by how quickly it brews. Coffee comes out quite hot, which is how I like it. Unfortunately there is a lack of heat settings, so users who prefer a certain level of heat might not like this. I was also annoyed by lack of brew sizes for K-cups. The standard brew size ranges from 4-10oz. I assume this is to maintain flavor. However most travel mugs hold much more than 10oz, even the kuerig brand much (which I use). I keep a magnet next to my brewer and attach it to the sensor to trick it into brewing more than 10oz. When coupled with the "Strong" setting, I taste no deminished flavor in the coffee. I've had no issues brewing entire pots of coffee and the setting works really well. I do have a gripe about the hot water on demand setting, you must actually hold it down for the entire time you want water. In the k400 models, this is not nessesary. On top of that, it will only give you 6oz of hot water at a time. I've had some trouble with this because I don't have a lot of finger strength. If I press it with my index finger it will often stop due to it thinking I've taken my finger off the button after a couple seconds. If I use my thumb I can get the full 6oz. All in all, I love my brewer despite the setbacks it has. I use it daily and I wouldn't trade it for any other brewer. Thanks, Kuering for the free packs for this review.

I have been wanting to get a Keurig brewer for a couple of years. When I saw the features of the Keurig 2 .0 K550 brewer at a great price, I ordered one. I love this brewer! I like the flexibility of brewing a single cup or using the K Carafe for 4 cups. The coffee tastes great! While the carafe that came with the brewer does not keep the coffee hot for long, I just transfer the coffee to a thermal carafe I already had. Thanks, Keurig for the free packs for this review.

A Big Improvement over our Vue Brewer

We are avid Keurig users. We've had numerous brewers over the past ~5 years. We started with a K-cup-only brewer in 2010 and then switched over to the Vue system in 2012. While we loved the larger brewing capacity and better quality of the Vue brewing, we were always frustrated by the lack of variety of Vue cups available. Now, with our Keurig 2.0, we get the best of both worlds. We can still brew Vue cups but we also can once again brew K-cups. The huge variety of K-cups available is really nice. It also seems like K-cups produce better quality/tasting beverages in the Keurig 2.0 than we remember experiencing with our previous K-cup-only brewer. The Keurig 2.0 is a breeze to use and large color touchscreen is really nice. We love the easy-to-fill, large water reservoir too! Thanks, Keurig, for the free packs for this review.
