great coffee all the time

I have always been a one cup in the morning coffee drinker, but now I drink a cup sometimes in the evening because it is so good. When I ordered this product I had company from out of town and she loved this coffee also. I just ordered her one for her birthday that is coming up next month. The only thing I can complain about this product is that you can become addicted to coffee because it is that good.

Like it - almost love it

For coffee I drink one cup in the morning, then in the afternoon I usually have a large mug of herbal tea. This machine is an upgrade from an earlier Keurig. I mainly got this for the carafe because somedays I like a large mug of coffee. I also liked the advertised instant hot water feature (for my tea). So, after using it just over a month, here's my experience. The instant hot water doesn't always deliver the 6 ounces, sometimes it stops after about an ounce. I can now recognize by the sounds it makes when it starts whether I'll get a full 6 ounces or if it will stall out. I MUCH preferred the hot water usage from the other machine where I selected a cup size, pushed the start button, and got that much water. Now you have to stand there and hold the button in until it delivers the 6 ounces of water. On my old machine I could set the large (10oz) brew as the default and I have not found a way to do this on the 2.0, it stays at 8oz. I was able to select a favorite size on the Carafe brew with this machine though. I really like that the k-carafe cups are easily recycled... you just pull the top foil off after brewing and the pouch with the coffee grounds comes out. The plastic holder can then be recycled, or re-used (craft room cups, seed starters, etc). I hope they make it this easy on k-cups. If there were one thing that would make me go back to a traditional machine it's throwing all those cups away. The machine automatically detects when you are using the carafe, and carafe cups go right into the same hole as the k-cup... the carafe cup just moves the bottom hole puncher out of the way to make room. It's a pretty nifty system. The carafe doesn't keep the coffee hot though, but the time I finish my first cup (and I don't usually linger) the coffee in the carafe is warm. So - there are things I really like, and things I really don't. If you are primarily wanting this because of the carafe I wholeheartedly recommend it. But, if you are a mixed drinker of primarily single cups where you like to get just hot water as well as coffee .... for now I would stick with the original. Needs some improvements in the availability of coffee. Keurig sells bags of great coffee but cannot be used in my machine because of the proprietary settings. It will not use a reusable K-Cup, even though Keurig sells them.

Love our new Brewer K550. Easy to brew, my husband loves the quick hot cup of coffee in the morning. Easy to clean and makes a great cup of coffee. The only con is that the coffee just not last long. We really enjoy drinking it every day. Starbucks is our favorite Verona brand. Just wish it would stay warm longer.
