Keurig 2.0 K550 replacing the Vue?

I first bought the Keurig Vue in the beginning of 2014 and fell in love with it! Unfortunately, the Vue cups became unavailable relatively soon after my purchase and the only way I got to buy my coffee was through Keurig.com. I then received the new Keurig 2.0 K550 for Christmas 2014 and have been using it daily since then. I must say, the 2.0 definitely looks better than any Keurig brewers, the 550 features a "stylish" light in the water tank which can be customized (color options, turn off time, etc.). The Brewer takes everything from regular KCups over Vue cups to KCarafe (which works with the Carafe that comes with the machine). I love that there is such a huge variety of beverages available for the 2.0 and that it brews it even quicker than the Vue! However, what disappointed me is that the 2.0 will choose your brewing setting for you. There is no option to manually select an Iced Coffee brewing (which I LOVED on the Vue!), and it seems like beverage sizes are also limited. Regular coffee cups, for example, are only brewed in sizes up to 10oz - I believe the Vue allowed for up to 12oz in the Iced Coffee setting. However, for those who like having hot water in no time to brew over regular tea bags - the 2.0 lets you dispense hot water (up to 6oz) without having to select a "brewing setting" as was common with the Vue. Overall, I am very glad I have made the switch to the 2.0 even though it may take some getting used to coming from a different system. Also, I have never had any problems with beverage cups not being accepted by the machine - all cups bought in store or online seem to be in the right format to be read by the machine's scanner. Best Christmas Present Ever!

We got the new 2.0 as a gift for ourselves for Christmas. We love the new carafe option, when we can agree on a coffee to share. We added the cups drawer underneath to be able to roll the coffeemaker out to brew carafes. Single best addition ever, makes it so easy to use and put away. My only wish is the new 2.0 would use some of my non-Keurig cups, but that is minor. Thanks, Keurig, for the free packs for this review.

Keurig 2.0 brewers

I have had a Keurig for 7 years and love love love my Keurig. I decided to upgrade to the new Keurig 2.0.550 I used it the first time and it tasted so much like a chemical I coukdnt drink it. I cleaned it with vinegar. Tried it again and still bad taste. I read on line to try rubbing alcohol so I did that. Still didn't work to get the taste out. I ran water through it for about an hour. It tasted a little better so I thought I finally made it. I ran more water through it and then gave up for the night. The next morning I brewed a pot and when I tasted it it was awful!! I tried for about s week alternating cleaning and running mass amounts of water through but it still tasted bad. I returned the unit and went back to using my old Keurig. About 30 days later I went and bought the 350. Same issue. I was so disappointed. I returned it and got a K45. It Tastes fine. Keurig needs to recall all the 2.0 units and change the internal tubes to the original ones from the older units. Please!!!!

My husband is the coffee drinker and I prefer tea. He fixes a cup or two every morning and is enjoying the ease and quick brewing of this Keurig 2.0. I made a carafe of tea for dinner and I am hoping there will be carafe cups for tea soon but I used two K cups on strong. Worked fine and was delicious! Love the way it looks on my countertop!
