Who needs a coffee house

I love my new 2.0 coffee maker. Fresh cup in seconds. Who needs to stand in line and pay a lot of money at a coffee house when you can have the best with a large variety right in your own home with half the cost. Thanks, Keurig, for the free packs for this review.

I use this coffee maker for coffee, tea and lemonade. It works simple and great. I have no complaints with this coffee maker. I have the older model, which I have put up to save as a make-up if necessary. I had the older one for 2 or 3 years and never had a complaint. I bought this one to back up the other, but I tried it and read the directions. The older one was put away to be the back up. Since I have this one, I can not image any other way to make coffee. The lemonade is great also. I drank instance coffee before I tried Keurig. Nothing else works as well.

We use the K550 everyday. It is especially helpful when we have company and need more than one cup at a time. The optical reader which limits coffee choices and small number of large cups are a drawback

I cannot use the drip pan with a tall coffee mug, there's not enough space. The pan is too tall. Using a paper towel on. The counter is the only option, and looks tacky.

I really enjoy the ability to have a pot when company over after dinner, instead of making individual cups. I enjoy the individual cups since our household runs on many varied scheduled, we all get what we want fresh and hot, when we want it. Putting the water filter in the pot was difficult and one of the tabs broke off. Havn't figured out how to replace that part yet.

There is an improvement in this new one, the fact that you can program it to brew a carafe at a preset time of the day. What's not so great about it is that you can't do the same for a k-cup and I have no idea why, the software is already in place. It's true that you can set it in advance to preheat the water but my choice is to find it ready, not come back for it. Another disturbing setting is that you have to actually hold your finger on the button for the hot water, and it will stop when half mug is empty. To add some more you have to lift the top, sometimes wait to preheat again and start the process again. At last, the whole process takes too long. There is nothing you can do before the preheat cycle is finished so you have no choice but to wait right there or come back 3 min. later; I would rather be able to push the button with the desired settings and leave. The brewer can preheat the water and pour my coffee whenever it's done. I would see no harm in the future models to have a USB connection for software update, as more and more devices require today.
Pros: Easy to clean, Easy to use, Stylish, Large Pot
Cons: Not So Good Programing, Limited Features, Long Brew Time

Hi vvalentin109 , The brewer pre heats the water at 4oz-6oz to save energy of preheating a lot of water. holding the button lets you choose how much water you need and not let the brewer limit you on your choices.
The “port” on the bottom of the system is similar to the port you would plug a landline phone into in your home. This was included in the new Keurig 2.0 brewers to give us the future ability to connect an accessory to give the brewer internet connectivity, should the consumer opt in and wish to do so.
This port is not currently in use and any future uses are still in the early stages of innovation.

"Thanks,Keurig,for the free packs for this review." This new Keurig answers my need for brewing a carafe of coffee. My strong suggestion is that the thermal carafe come standard with the high end Keurigs. The plastic one is of very little use as the coffee is not kept hot. My only other request would be for hotter brewer temperature because my coffee gets cold entirely too quickly. Oh, one other request...colors.

Cons: Long Brew Time, Coffee Doesn't Stay Hot, Limited Features
