Nice concept but...

I bought this as a housewarming gift for my son and daughter in law. They loved it! I purchased the extra thermal carafe and I felt that it was a great that my son could take the hot coffee into his home office and his wife could have iced coffee. The machine made a very loud noise as it was working and after 2 months, didn't work correctly at all. They contacted Keurig and a new Keurig 2.0 is on the way. But how embarassing! If it were to be perfected, it is an awesome gift!
Pros: Large Pot, Stylish, Easy to use, Multiple Settings, Easy to clean, Brews quickly
Cons: Loud
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I had read a lot of negative reviews and articles about the 2.0 because you had to use Keurig k-cups in it. I am amazed that anyone would want to have a keurig coffee maker and use subpar coffee in it. It was never a consideration to me in the decision to purchase the 2.0, I use a keurig for a good cup of coffee. I love the 550, the carafe feature is a nice addition for when u have company not having to brew one up at a time. I also use it on the auto-brew setting for the morning to have a carafe made when I get up. A couple of cups to drink, then pour the rest in the travel mug to go. I do recommend, purchasing the stainless thermal carafe, the one included is not insulated. The 2.0 will also be able to brew vue packs after they transition over with the dots on them for it to scan which opens up to more cafe drinks not available in k-cups. My only complaint I have found is that you cannot adjust the brew temperature like you could on previous Keurig Brewers. I always had mine set as hot as it would go, and not sure what the temp is of this but not quite as hot as what I was used to. Thanks, Keurig, for the free packs for this review.

I use it mainly to brew a couple of single cups a day. It's nice to have for gatherings so you don't have to keep making coffee. It's great that kids can make their own hot chocolate. It gets loud when heating up but not to bad. Thanks, Keurig, for the free packs for this review.

I was mad when the Vue was discontinued but I used my Keurig points to get the 2.0. I found the vue coffee tasted better. The 2.0 allows for both vue cups and kcups. It turns out the k-cups on the 2.0 are pretty good. I will end up using both. People need to get over the DRM thing. who cares. just buy the Keurig coffee.
