If you have never had a Keurig machine, you won't be disappointed. If you already are a user, this machine is a step backwards and should not be considered. You have to buy and store twice as many cups so you have some for carafe and some for single cups. You have to hold the button to get hot water and it steams your thumb (dangerous). It won't let you use 3rd party K-cups. You can't get the water hotter or cooler, you take what it gives you. If you want 12 or 16 oz servings (travel mug), you can't get it unless you make a whole carafe. You can only stick ordinary coffee cups/mugs under the brewer. Tall mugs won't fit (neither will travel mugs, but they didn't go under the old version either). If you have one that is working, keep it. Version 2.0 is a downgrade to make a monopoly for Keurig so you can't use anything else and everything you bought for your current brewer and system (most especially the drop in K-cup holder that let you put in regular coffee) will not work. You'll have to buy new accessories. Also, the water filter broke on the first use. It said "press here" on the plastic tabs so you could insert the filter (more things you'll have to buy) and they broke off - no abuse, they just snapped when I did what it said. However, it still brews a great cup of coffee.
Pros: Carafe Makes Two Mugs, Large 80 Oz Capacity, Nifty Touch Screen
Cons: Needs Diff Cup For Carafe, Longer Warm Up Time, Won't Use Non-keurig Cups, Extremely Noisy Brewing, Longer Brewing Cycle, Won't Use Old Accessories, Waterfilter Broke 1st Use, Only Makes 6 Oz Hot Water, Size Limited To 10 Oz Cup, No temperature control, No Tall Cups 6" Max Ht

I drink a lot of coffee and was having issues with my old Keurig so decided to splurge and get the new version. DONT bother. Certain keurig approved cups don't work or take for ever to brew. After our 12oz cup is full we have to put another coffee cup under it to catch the coffee that continues to brew, approx. another 8+oz.I deep clean it weekly and use the Keurig plastic thing daily and still doesn't work. Its constantly pre-heating and provides horrible tasting coffee. Don't purchase this item as you will be disappointed. I have called in the Keurig and they wont replace or help. Find a quality coffee brewer.

Doesn't brew as well as previous models

I am disappointed with this brewer and it has nothing to do with the restrictions to only Keurig brand pods. That doesn't bother me because Keurig offers a good selection at acceptable prices. 1) It is not as flexible as the Vue brewer it replaces i.e. no temp settings and no settings for iced drinks. With K cups you have to accept the default settings and manually lower the cup size to 8 and with a Vue cup use button 4 with the same reduction in cup size. 2) My biggest disappointment it with the brew. Using default settings brew is thin and watery. I must use the strong setting and even then it s not quite as good as my old brewer. 3) It is so unsatisfactory that I would send it back if return shipping didn't cost almost as much as I paid for the brewer. I will write an article in my blog www.hometechmtl.com so others can think twice about ordering this brewer.
Pros: Easy to operate, Looks good
Cons: Thin Or Watery Mouthfeel/Body, Brew Is Thin, Unappealing Or Flat Aroma

We bought the machine yesterday and we will be taking it back tomorrow. We just realized that the machine will only work it you use the Keurig brand cups. This is archaic! Is technology going forward or backward?!

Keurig 2.0 carafe

I have had Keurig machines for quite some time now and love the ease of making a great cup of coffee or cappachino...and how quick you can get the perfect cup time after time. However, the one downfall is the machines don't always last that long. I have gone through two of the Rivo machines and I'm on my second regular machine...so why did I buy the new 2.0 you may ask....after reading about the machine I was thrilled that now I can have the great taste in the morning using the timer...and this one has a carafe so my husband and I can both enjoy a cup first thing in the morning....that would be wonderful if we both got up at the same time, but we don't. The coffee in the carafe doesn't stay hot for very long and I'm disappointed in that (the whole purpose of buying the 2.0) but it does have a lot of settings to change on cup portions and brewing strength that I do like. It's not a big deal to me that you can only use Keurig K-cups because that is the only one I do use but I am hoping in the near future they will have more of a variety of the carafe packs.
Pros: Pleasing Aroma

Holding on to my old Keurig

Greatly disappointed that K 2.0 does not work with K cups. We were looking at buying another coffee maker plus wedding & Christmas gifts. Cannot do this now with the new K 2.0 which demonstrates a lack of environmental responsibility. I'm not a tree hugger but cannot in good conscience contribute to waste problems created with coffee packs. The primary reason we purchased our original was that it allowed us to brew our coffee with reusable K cups. It also precludes us from using the coffee WE prefer or is given to us as a gift from friends travelling abroad. The K cup brew your own feature was the reason friends raved about their original Keurig, caused us to purchase one, and have since extolled that singular advantage to others. When our original Keurig dies, it's back to our brew your own coffee maker.
Been a keurig user for 10 years. This is the worst one I've ever had. It's looks like a bumper from a 50's car. It doesn't brew hot enough. It keeps dropping. The tray is loose & noisy. It's got a fancy screen but hardly any options. Wanted to send it back but keurig won't pay the $50 it will cost me to ship it back.
Cons: Drip Tray Is Loud Moves, Ugly Design, Limited Features, Coffee Doesn't Stay Hot, Doesn't brew hot enough, Keeps Drripping

Doesn't use all k cups

We just got a new 550 and found out after we set it up,it will not take many of the k cups we have in our cupboard ,including ones we just got from keurig less than 2 months ago. Very very disappointed in that. I guess they are trying to corner the market on k cups? Not cool!
