My wife and I had been using a drip coffee maker until last October when we purchased the Keurig 2.0 system. It has been a huge improvement. Since my wife arises an hour before me, we now are able to each brew our coffee separately. My wife brews an 8 oz cup to which she adds milk, and I brew a 10 oz cup which I drink black. We now enjoy every morning our own cup of freshly brewed, piping hot delicious coffee. And it only takes a minute to brew a cup. So far we have only used the individual K cups, but would use the carafe with dinner guests. We have found the Keurig 2.0 system easy to use and trouble free. Thanks Keurig, for the free packs for this review. In any case, I am happy to recommend the Keurig 2.0 system which we both are very happy with.
Pros: Durable, Stylish, Easy to use, Multiple Settings, Brews quickly, Easy to clean
I would recommend this to a friend!

Limits you to ONLY Keurigs own pods

Used to use my Keurig for every day for coffee. You are controlling what coffee we can use by not allowing the fill-your own pods; and utilizing your own 'code reading' system. Can't make an instant cup of boiling water easily. Also hate your new website - liked the Green Mountain site better.
Cons: Hot Water Hard To Get, Can Only Use Keurig Pods, Too Much Does Too Little, Shame On Keurig, Very Disappointed -

K550-DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! Had brewer in service/low usage@ three months- pump died. New replacement brewer had issues after 10 cups of coffee brewed. Keurig now ships cleaning pod whose use requires power down of brewer. Keurig states cleaning cycle EVERY 5 CUPS should be run- totally unreasonable- as you have to reset all defaults on brewer every time you unplug machine?
Cons: Maintenance Every 5 Cups, HARD TO CLEAN

Couldn't Hate It More If I Tried!

After loving my Platinum brewer- I am disgusted with this 2.0 model. I bought the 550 hoping it would be acceptable, knowing the lack of inclusion of many k-cup packs but the negatives of this machine are nearly insurmountable. It's extremely noisy, takes too long to brew a cup, the coffee is NOT hot (I assume the lack of temp choice causes this). I have 4 boxes, YES, FOUR boxes of tea & coffee I purchased from THIS VERY SITE that will NOT work in this brewer! That's appx $50.00 worth of K-cups that are now USELESS! This machine is taller than the Platinum so now the $25.00 "under brewer storage drawers" I bought, again from KEURIG make the brewer too tall to fit under my cupboards! So no more K-cup storage! Now to get hot water I have to hold the button the entire time, rather than push & watch it fill. Many of the K-cup settings will not allow 12 oz brews! That was a fave of my husband. The list goes on and on and ON! I would pay double for a good ole Platinum brewer, in spite the fact that mine quit after 1 yr & 15 days! That's right- 15 days after the 1 yr warranty ran out- I still would have preferred that brewer! The carafe feature is silly & unnecessary! I bought my original Keurig for single cup brewing- Fancy colors aside- this thing is terrible! Adding intuitive technology just for the sake of adding it is NOT progress nor is it an upgrade! Lastly- Keurig; You owe me $50. worth of K-cups and a new storage system as mine are now obsolete!
Cons: Long Brew Time, No Temp Setting, No My K Cup Use, Loud, Complicated Controls, Coffee Doesn't Stay Hot, Limited Features, Taller Than The Platinum

Big Disappointment

Not at all happy with this 2.0 1. My old one allowed me to brew a 12 or 14 cup. Why on earth did you remove this ability. Using a K-Crafe pod is not an acceptable answer. I want a 12 or 14oz cup from a Kirkland Pacific Bold K-Cup. 2. Also available on my old Keurig but not on the 2.0 It is th ability to make a specific size cup of hot water. You must stand there continuously holding the button till it is full. 3. I cant put my travel mug under it and make a cup of coffee becuse of the base switch that makes it require a K-Carafe pod. if the drip tray is removed. 4. Worst of all no My K-Cup or My K-Carafe options. I guess greed in trying to force people to buy licened by Green moutain products only got in the way of making what could have been a great machine.
Cons: Limited Features

Thank you for your feedback Ed! Have you heard about our KMUG pods? They will allow you to brew over a 10 oz. of coffee without having to brew a full carafe. Check them out on the keurig website.

Disappointing Keurig Brewer

I drink 2 cups of coffee each day, yet the brewer said I needed to change the filter and descale after less than two months! The brewer had stopped altogether so I used the solution, not once, but two times to get a satisfactory result! Do you realize how expensive it's going to be to keep this brewer serviceable!? That means it requires 2 bottles of Keurig's descaling solution. The coffee is not hot even when everything is working well, you have to hold down the button to get only 6 oz. of hot water at a time, and, if history serves, is going to be expensive and time consuming to keep it in working order! I wish I'd never bought it in the first place!
Pros: Stylish
Cons: Coffee Doesn't Stay Hot, HARD TO CLEAN, Limited Features

This is the second Keurig Brewer I have purchased and after 6 or so months of having it, I wish I had just kept my old one. Shame on me for wanting the newer prettier version of a brewer that had nothing wrong with it besides being last generation. The brewer is nice looking but that's pretty much all it has going for it. It could quite possibly be that I just got the bad apple of the bunch but I have had nothing but problems with this brewer since I got it. I was first turned off by the fact that it no longer brews 12oz. 10oz is the largest single cup you can brew without using the large pot (which by the way, I have never needed to use). I do understand, however, why it is set up that way I just should have realized I have no need for the large pot. It just gathers dust. A month or two into using the brewer, I noticed that when I select 10oz, it doesn't always brew 10oz. It also varies in the strength of the coffee brewed even when I do not change the settings. I called Keurig and the rep informed me that this brewer can clog easily and they would send me a tool to help unclog it. Fine, they sent it to me and I started to use it. I've noticed recently though that I am using this tool 1-2 times a week. It clogs ALL THE TIME no matter what coffee/tea pod I am using and it continues to brew whatever amount of coffee and whatever strength of coffee it sees fit. No matter what selections I make. The brewer also has a big problem finishing it's brew. I'll see the display say its done and ready for the next brew session but it's still leaking coffee out. I essentially have to wait a good 15 minutes to be sure it is done brewing otherwise I have a mess in the drip pan or get burned when grabbing my cup. Another big issue that I wish was disclosed prior to buying is that not all k-cup pods will work with this thing and i'm not talking about non Keurig brand/sponsored pods. I'm talking about pods bought directly from the Keurig website. I have left over Lemon Zinger tea pods from my previous Keurig Brewer that I have to rip open and use the old fashioned way because this brewer doesn't recognize the pods when you put them in. What a waste of $$. The final straw was this morning where I spent an additional 10-15 minutes trying to coax the brewer to brew me 10oz of coffee. A burnt hand, mess all over my countertop later and 2 wasted pods later I am seriously debating going back to a good ol fashion coffee pot. I really just want a brewer that works when I need it to or just send me my old brewer back. Forget all the fancy shmancy stuff that I never use. Just give me my cup o joe already. On a positive note, this experience has forced me to cut back on my coffee intake. Silver lining.
Pros: Stylish
Cons: Leaks, Long Brew Time, Complicated Controls, Loud, Clogs easily, Splatters Easily
