Disappointing!

I've been a Keurig customer for over 10 years but this product has me rethinking my coffee choices. This coffeemaker includes a reader to scan K-cup rims. If you insert anything but a recently purchased, authorized, and more expensive k-cup you'll get the "Oops! I refuse to brew this product" message. The cases of K-cups I've purchased just a couple of months ago on this site don't work. The number of K-cups I'd have to toss I spent more on than this brewer costs. There is no longer an option to use "My K-cup", a reusable filter allowing you to brew your own coffee and produce less non-composable waste. Read reviews from other major retailers I also had my first experience with customer service when I called asking for instructions to return my machine. (It cost me $30 to return, they will not reimburse). The woman on the phone was insulting.

Like the design, looks. Very disappointed that you cannot place a 24 ounce glass once removing the drip tray. Old model allowed us to do that. Cannot brew a pot of hot water. Will not keep water hot. Only 6 ounces of water brew at one time, ridiculous! Pretty sure I am returning. Problem, I gave my old one away!

It's no vue!

We purchased the 2.0 for home use and brought the Vue to the office. The 2.0 can't make a larger cup, does not make the coffee hot enough, is noisy, and we are unable to get our favorite coffees in the k-cups.

Do not purchase this product. This is my third Keurig and its the worse. The brew time takes forever! All the coffees pods that fit my old Keirig now don't fit, I have to purchase all new coffee pods. I'm bringing this back.

Not all bugs are worked out Disappointed

I am a true keurig fan. Have had 3 brewers in the past. My platinum brewer lasted 3 years with 6-12 cups of coffee a day brewed. I am not a fan of this new brewer they got rid of some of my favorite features from the platinum. It only brews 6 oz of hot water while holding the button. It is SUPER loud to warm up to brew. Making a loud pulsing sound when brewing. My tea k cups do not work in this new brewer. so I have 20 tea kcups I will never use :( Plus the My Kcup does not fit. Have not tried to look for a new one but I hope they make it because I brew specialty coffee in it quite often. I did try the 4cup pot but I feel it does not brew enough for 4 cups (maybe 4- 6oz cups) so I wont be using it. All in all very disappointed. Wish they didn't stop selling the platinum brewers. Maybe if they worked out the bugs in this 1st gen 2.0 brewer it will be better!

Definitely different than older models..

I love the versatility of having either a single cup or a pot of coffee, K-cups for the older models don't work but call customer service and they will replace your existing stock for free and it arrives within 3-7 days! That was truly amazing! I liked the old design better in terms of how quickly it heated up and was ready to brew - this one is astonishingly slow to heat up. The whole purpose is to have a hot cup in just a few seconds but that is not so with this new model and that is hard to get used to. I kept my old one around just in case I decided to switch back. If you are impatient and had an older model brace yourself as this one will disappoint. I bought it so that I could get rid of the standard pot style coffee maker and free up counter space which is a huge benefit.
Pros: Versatility, Multiple Settings, Stylish, Easy to use
Cons: Slow To Heat Up, Carafe Won't Stay Hot, Small Pot, Loud, Coffee Doesn't Stay Hot, Old K-cups Don't Work

Thank you for sharing your experiences. We wanted to clarify that all our brewers are designed to have the same start up time. The Keurig 2.0 has the ability to enable or disable the power saver feature. If this is enabled, the brewer powers down for the desired period of time, and the brewer will need to heat up to the correct temperature when restarted. If the power saver feature isn't a factor in your case, then we are eager to talk with you and see if there might be something else impacting the start time. I preferred my older Keurig!

I was excited to update my old Keurig, but have been disappointed with the 2.0. I cannot adjust the brew temp and it is not hot enough. When I brew just water, I have to hold the button the entire time and the largest it will do is 6oz. That is not even a full cup. I was a lot happier with my older unit and it was a lot more user friendly. The only thing they seemed to do to make it nicer is add a feature to change the light color. While it is pretty and nice; I would MUCH prefer the extra features be for the actual use. Wish I had not gotten rid of my older one.

For K-Carafe packs, the brew temperature is set at 197 degrees Fahrenheit. These settings are the highest of any Keurig brewers.
