I originally wrote a review 5 days after I got the 2.0, I wasn't overly impressed then. I have warmed up to the unit since then. However one of my complaints still stands, the cup sizes. You can not brew a travel mug size of coffee on a regular k-cup. However you can modify a carafe cup after its first use (cut the bottom off after removing the label and coffee, you have to put the k-cup in the holder to punch a hole in the bottom then put the k-cup in the carafe cup (search youtube for keurig 2.0 hacks)). I know that a lot of reviewers post this complaint then the vendor posts a rebuttal that a vue cup will solve that problem. However I just looked at getting a vue cup box until I noticed the disclaimer stating that the vue cups do not work with the 2.0 as of yet. So now what? Another complaint I have is the clock. I have to change the clock on a daily basis, its usually off 4-7 minutes daily. This is a nice brewer I do like the features once I use the carafe hack. The coffee tastes great, the machine is quiet and quick for the most part.

Pot brewing, brews a very weak pot of coffee. Plastic Pot does not keep coffee hot. Bought Stainless Steal Pot - keeps coffee hot.

New and improved, how long will it last?

The only reason I purchased this new brewer was because my older Keurig stopped working. (Only had it for less than a year and a half.) I'm a fan of Keurig, but wonder how long this new machine will work? I must admit that the 2.0 is improved and my family does enjoy using it. There are some limitations such as brewing more than 10oz per cup. (Older brewer had more cup options.) I guess that's why you have a carafe now. All in all, I expect this brewer to last me a while and hope it will. Only time will tell. Thanks, Keurig, for the free packs for this review.

Make the k cup

Your policy to take away the choice to use your own coffee killed my reason for getting the 550 lye rig 2.0 my husband drinks a vegetable coffee ,called tea info.know this makes the reason for my purchase moot.need the empty K cup to allow it to be filled with said product.

Hi Booper, The My K-Cup accessory and other reusable filters are not compatible with Keurig 2.0 Brewing Technology because the brewer has no way of determining what beverage is being used or how much coffee is being added, and therefore cannot adjust to factors such as brew strength and amount of water, which could represent a safety concern. Because of this, the system will not brew unlicensed packs. To ease the transition to 2.0, please call our Customer Care team at 866-901-2739.
