I purchased this to replace an older model that finally died. I purchased this model for the ability to brew with the carafe. I'm glad I did. I really like the cup size selection, the "strong" option, and the timer feature.

It's nice to have the flexibility of brewing more than one cup at a time when guests are over or everyone wants the same flavor. Great concept. The K550 including carafe is very stylish.

I really like the different flavors available. I was really glad to find the reusable single cup and carafe pods, now I can enjoy the flavors ( I am still experimenting) and my husband continues to enjoy the regular flavors. Spent months looking for a new machine and am very happy I bought this one. My husband likes it too. Con-the final brewing is forceful and causes it to splash out of the cup. Glad I put a mat under the machine.

Nice upgrade for from our 8 year old Keurig that finally died. Quick brew time and machine looks great on the counter. On the down side, had over 40 kcups in inventory that were not compatible with this new model (including our favorite brand). Overall very happy with the purchase. A step in the wrong direction

Sleek and stylish, looks much nicer than the run of the mill drip coffee maker. Unfortunately, the 2.0 takes a few steps in the wrong direction. I need to push (and hold) a separate button to brew hot water (rather than just open and close unit, press start), and can only brew 6 oz at a time. Got a few kids wanting hot chocolate? Be prepared to stand by your machine for 3-4 runs. For coffee, the 2.0 reads the keurig lids to select the appropriate temperature for each type of brew (coffee, iced tea, etc), but I don't know that I find much (any) difference from prior versions of keurig brewers in terms of taste, and this one is a bit more complicated, requires you to ensure you buy the appropriate updated pods (I'm not a connoisseur by any means, though anyone who adds any cream or sugar probably isn't either). The carafe feature is nice, but I largely still use this for single cups. The initial machine that I purchased had a faulty touch screen, but customer service was fantastic and replaced my unit promptly. Makes me a bit concerned for the future, however, if my replacement screen fails outside of warranty period; this would be an expensive piece of counter top decor to replace every 18 months. The water filter feature on the 550 option is appreciated, but I did note that the "descale machine" alert occurred on my new replacement machine after only about 6-10 cups of coffee. I might trust this a bit less. We have softened water, no notable reduction in flow rate or buildup apparent in tank. I ignored this initial warning, and we have been able to brew ~50 more cups without repeat alerts. Final call; would recommend purchasing a cheap "outdated" version of the keurig brewer as you will only miss out on the carafe feature if you just want to have a good cup of coffee and not have to hunt for the new K-cups; use the extra cash you save for a crate of new K-cups. If you need the latest and greatest or are the type to do blind tastings of different roasts and the precision temp brew tickles your fancy, go for it. As long term drip-coffee users, what we like most about the Keurig pod system is the convenience, simplicity and speed of making a single cup of ground coffee. The convenience of dispensing hot water for tea (vs microwave) is a bonus! Disclosure: "Thanks, Keurig, for the free pods for this review."

Have to wait for unit to preheat. Old unit was always ready instantly and was quiet. This unit is very loud. Wakes up wife in early morning thats' how loud it is. Would not recommend to anyone. Want my old unit back but of course it was discontinued.
