Boy did I miss my Keurig

After about 6 years my initial Keurig needed to be replaced. I received another brewer as a gift and was very disappointed. I finally purchased the Keurig® 2.0 K550 and will never again be without a Keurig. The increased functionality is even better than the initial system!

This was our 1st Keurig, and we love it. We are still trying the sample paks included with the unit, but every cup of coffee has been perfect, and it is easy to use.. Unless you need to make a large pot of coffee at one time, this is the way to go. The carafe function allows you to make 4 cups at a time. Good for when you want to brew for 2 or more, or just have the time to drink some more of that tasty java. We never thought that we would want this, but now that we have it, we can't be without this great coffee maker.
Pros: Brews quickly, Large Pot, Multiple Settings, Easy to clean, Easy to use, Stylish
Cons: Coffee Is Pricey

Great Coffee maker with only a single drawback

Overall this is a really good brewer and an improvement over the previous models with only a single glaring exception. The positive aspects are the carafe of coffe instead of me using 4 single pods I can use the larger ones for more coffee. The new Mug pods for 16 oz cups of coffee is also nice, but are a different pod than the standard pod and carafe pod. I confirmed that they can be used even though the documentation that came with the coffee maker does not mention these pods anywhere. I love the large 80oz resercoir as well since I drink a lot of coffee on the weekends and my children are becoming coffee drinkers as well now that they are grown up. The large negative is not being able to use non-Kuerig pods, which to me is not as big a deal as me not being able to use my own ground coffee like you could in the old one. I get that the company will tell you that it is to make sure the best brew of coffee is made with their pods, but I think consumers are smart enough to use their own coffee and determine what is best for them on their own. The message is not resonating with me and this seems more like a way to keep the market cornered from other players. A noble business effort for sure, but not in the best interest of consumers.

Cons: Can't Use Non-kurig Pods, Can't Use Your Own Coffee

Love the new Keurig 550 Brewer

I really like the the new Keurig 500 series units. The Large water holder adds convenience for large paries. The Caraf brewer setting produces great coffee quickly. The multiple settings are easy to use and I especially like the Favorite settings. The only negative is the inability to select the 12 oz dispenser setting when using regular k-Cups.
Pros: Large Pot, Easy to clean, Multiple Settings, Easy to use, Stylish, Brews quickly
Cons: No 12 Oz Size On K-cups

I want to thank Keurig for making my mornings easier by making my coffee so easy. I love the variety of coffees I can have. I resisted getting a Keurig because I had a coffee pot and now I wonder why I didn't get one sooner. Thanks Keurig for making this amazing machine and thanks for the free pods for this review.
